Web Design on the Sunshine Coast

Websites for businesses from Pelican Waters and Caloundra up through Kawana, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and Coolum to Noosa, and inland to Buderim, Nambour, Maleny and the Glass House Mountains. Our Adelaide team hand-codes each site and works with you by phone and email at fixed published prices. You pay only once you've approved the draft.

What a Sunshine Coast website needs to cover

A business here can be serving holidaymakers who landed at Marcoola that morning, families new to the region, retirees and other businesses in Maroochydore's new office towers, sometimes within the same week. This is how we'd handle what each of them looks for.

  • Small business prices, fixed and published

One page costs $399 and up to 3 pages $899; up to 8 pages costs $1,499. There's no GST on top and no deposit. A Buderim tutor, an Eumundi stallholder or a Mooloolaba physio pays the same as a business in a capital city, and only after approving the draft.

  • Custom design for the way you work

There's no template underneath: we design each site around the business and code it by hand. A surf school's site leads with lesson times and what to bring, a hinterland B&B's with rooms and available dates, and an accountant's with services and how a first meeting runs.

  • A rebuild for a site that's holding you back

Redesigns cost the same as new sites. If yours was put together on a page builder, loads slowly on a phone or no longer matches what you do, we rebuild it, keep the domain in your name, redirect the old page addresses and leave the current site running until you're happy with the new one.

  • Talking to the developer, not a go-between

The people who write your site's code are the people you email and call, so a new menu, price list or photo goes up without sitting in a ticket queue. We reply within 24 hours, and you check the whole site on a draft link before it goes live.

  • Stores for local labels and producers

Swimwear, surf gear, coffee, honey or hinterland produce: if you make things, an online store lets customers order from anywhere. Our $799 store suits a range of up to 25 products with one payment gateway; the $1,999 store adds unlimited products, multiple payment options, customer accounts and advanced shipping.

  • Bookings for visitors and locals

Tours, lessons, treatments, classes and tables can be booked and paid for on your own site. We build that into the site and quote it per job, or, if you already use Fresha, Cliniko, OpenTable or Calendly, we link that system from every page.

  • Where you sit on a 60-kilometre coast

The urban coast runs about 60 km from Pelican Waters to Tewantin, and nobody wants to drive the length of it for a haircut. The site should say which centre you're in, which ones you'll travel to, and whether Noosa or the hinterland is part of your patch.

Doing business on the Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast's urban area takes in about 60 km of coast and hinterland, from Pelican Waters in the south to Tewantin in the north, around 100 km north of Brisbane's centre. Two councils share it. Sunshine Coast Council, which sits in Maroochydore, was created in 2008 from the City of Caloundra and the Shires of Maroochy and Noosa; Noosa residents voted on 9 March 2013 to leave, and the Shire of Noosa was re-established on 1 January 2014. Sunshine Coast Council counted 346,648 residents in 2021 and expects more than 500,000 by 2041, roughly 8,000 extra people a year, with many of the newcomers either parents aged 35 to 49 with children under 15 or people aged 65 and over. For the southern end in more detail, see our Caloundra page.

Health care and retail are the region's two dominant sectors, providing about 30% of its jobs between them. Labour force figures from May 2019 put health care and social assistance at 26,800 workers, construction close behind at 26,500 and education and training at 21,200. The public Sunshine Coast University Hospital is at Birtinya, in Kawana. More than 83,000 students study across the University of the Sunshine Coast, two TAFE campuses and more than 150 registered training organisations, and the university's Sippy Downs campus is designated a knowledge hub in Queensland Government infrastructure planning. Council's investment office names seven high-value industries it wants to grow: aviation and aerospace; health and wellbeing; clean technologies; food and agribusiness; tourism, sport and leisure; knowledge industries and professional services; and education and research.

Maroochydore is getting a new city centre built from the ground up, a priority development area delivered by Walker Corporation and the council. Foundation Place opened there in late 2020 and council's City Hall in December 2022, a NEXTDC data centre was announced in 2025, and council promotes the centre as 20 milliseconds from Asia via a new submarine broadband cable. Consultants, firms and tech businesses taking space in those buildings are usually chosen on trust rather than price, so their sites need named people, qualifications, a plain list of services and an easy way to book a first conversation.

Tourism brings more than 3.2 million visitors a year, to beaches such as Mooloolaba and Coolum, to Australia Zoo, Sea Life, Aussie World, the Big Pineapple at Woombye and the Eumundi Markets, and up to Maleny and the Glass House Mountains. Sunshine Coast Airport at Marcoola, about 10 km north of Maroochydore, opened a 2,450-metre runway on 14 June 2020 and handled close to 1.9 million passengers in 2023–24, with direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide among others. Someone weighing up a tour, lesson or room from interstate can't ask at the counter, so the page has to answer what a counter conversation would: price, what's included, where to meet and how to book.

We're an Adelaide team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St and work with Sunshine Coast businesses by phone and email; we don't meet clients in person. Our industry pages go further for particular kinds of business, including Sunshine Coast tradies, allied health practices, accountants and new businesses, each with the local rules that apply.

Client sites with features that suit the coast

None of these clients is on the Sunshine Coast: they're in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne. We picked them for what they show, which is pages for each area a business covers and booking built into a professional practice's site.

Sunshine Coast web design questions

Are you based on the Sunshine Coast?

No. We're a web design team in Adelaide, South Australia, at Ste 3/110 Hutt St. Sunshine Coast businesses work with us by phone and email, check drafts on their own phone or computer, and hear back from us within 24 hours. Our current clients are in South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

How much is a small business website on the Sunshine Coast?

It's $399 for one page and $899 for up to 3 pages; up to 8 pages is $1,499. A redesign of an existing site costs the same, and online stores are $799 or $1,999. No GST is added, no deposit is taken, and hosting after launch is $30 a month, cancel anytime.

Do you cover Noosa as well?

Yes. Noosa has been its own shire since 2014, and that matters for things like council permits, but on your website what counts is naming the places you serve. If you work in Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Tewantin or Cooroy, list them alongside your Sunshine Coast suburbs.

Can you build an online store for our products?

Yes. The $799 store covers up to 25 products with one payment gateway and basic order management. The $1,999 store has unlimited products, multiple payment options, customer accounts and advanced shipping. You supply the product photos and descriptions, and we lay them out. See ecommerce website design.

Can visitors book a tour, lesson or treatment online?

Yes. We build booking and payment systems into websites and quote each one per job, since a surf lesson, a day tour and a massage clinic all take bookings differently. If you already use Fresha, Cliniko, OpenTable or Calendly, we can link it instead. See booking website design.

How long does a website take, and what do we need to supply?

Most sites are live within 5–10 days of us getting your words and photos; bigger sites (up to 8 pages) take 2–3 weeks. You supply the text and photos and we arrange them into pages; if you don't have a logo, we help with one at no charge. If the school holidays have you flat out, the draft waits until you have time to look at it.
