Website Design for Mechanics on the Sunshine Coast

Websites for workshops and mobile mechanics from Caloundra to Noosa and back into the hinterland. A page for drivers taking the Noosa River ferry to Teewah Beach, a straight answer on how customers get home after drop-off when there's no station nearby, and service requests that arrive with the rego and the problem already filled in.

What Sunshine Coast customers check first

The railway on the Sunshine Coast runs through the hinterland towns, not the coastal centres, so leaving a car at a workshop in Maroochydore or Caloundra usually means working out another way to get to work. Add the beach drivers heading north from Noosa and the farms behind the coast, and a workshop's site has a few more questions to answer than a city one.

  • How customers get home, or to work

Trains stop at Beerwah, Landsborough, Nambour, Eumundi and Cooroy, but Caloundra and Maroochydore aren't on the line. If you offer a lift within a set distance, a loan car, or a pick-up from home or work, put it near the top of the page and add a tick box for it on the request form.

  • Cooloola beach drive preparation

Four-wheel drives travel from Noosa North Shore up Teewah Beach to Double Island Point and on to Rainbow Beach, and every vehicle needs a Cooloola vehicle access permit, bought before it drives on the sand. If you do pre-trip checks, tyres, suspension or an underbody inspection afterwards, list those jobs and say how far ahead to book before a long weekend.

  • Caravans and trailers

Approved inspection stations issue safety certificates for caravans and trailers over 750 kg aggregate trailer mass, as well as for cars and motorbikes. If you inspect or service them, give them their own heading with the sizes your workshop can take, and say whether you check brakes, bearings and electrics for towing.

  • Hinterland and rural call-outs

Much of the council's rural land is used for dairy farming, cattle grazing and crops. A mobile mechanic who services farm utes, quad bikes or small machinery around Maleny, Mapleton or Beerwah should name the localities and the machines, and say which days they're out that way.

  • Which end of the coast you cover

Customers think in stretches: Caloundra and Kawana, Mooloolaba and Maroochydore, Buderim, Coolum, Noosa. Lead with your own, list the suburbs around it, and only add the far end of the coast if you really want those jobs.

Running a workshop on the Sunshine Coast

The inspection rules are Queensland-wide. Transport and Main Roads accredits approved inspection stations to issue safety certificates and certificates of inspection, runs the approved person scheme that certifies modifications, and sets out how defect notices are cleared. Our Brisbane mechanics page covers those schemes in detail. Here we concentrate on what's different about working on the coast, and we put your approval number on the site exactly as TMR issued it.

The coast is shared by two councils. Sunshine Coast Council covers about 2,200 square kilometres, from Caloundra and Beerwah up through Maroochydore and Coolum and back into the hinterland, while Noosa Shire takes in Noosa Heads, Tewantin, Cooroy and Noosa North Shore. The Sunshine Coast Council economic profile lists Kunda Park, Warana, Caloundra West, Bells Creek, Beerwah, the north-west of Coolum Beach, parts of Maroochydore, the west of Moffat Beach and the north-east of Buderim as its major industrial precincts. If your workshop is in one of those, put the precinct name and street near the top of the page, with a photo of the frontage, because an industrial estate is hard to find the first time.

North of Noosa is the Cooloola beach drive. The Noosa North Shore ferry runs every day of the year from the river end of Moorindil Street in Tewantin across to Noosa North Shore, and from there four-wheel drives travel up Teewah Beach to Double Island Point and on to Rainbow Beach. Every vehicle needs a vehicle access permit for Cooloola, bought before it drives on the sand, and parts of the Cooloola section of Great Sandy National Park can't be reached without a 4WD. A Noosaville or Tewantin workshop that prepares vehicles for the trip can link to Queensland Parks and Wildlife for permits and current conditions and spend its own words on the checks it does.

Transport shapes the rest. The North Coast railway line follows the hinterland through Beerwah, Landsborough, Palmwoods, Nambour, Yandina, Eumundi and Cooroy, and the coastal centres sit some distance from it. A workshop near one of those stations can say a customer is able to drop the car and catch a train; everyone else should spell out the lift, loan car or bus that gets people home.

We're an Adelaide team and work with Queensland businesses by phone and email. You send your services, hours and photos taken on your phone, we send a draft link you can check between jobs, and you ask for changes until it's right. You pay once you approve it.

Examples from our portfolio

There's no mechanic in our portfolio yet. These two show what a Sunshine Coast workshop site can borrow: separate pages for each part of a service area, and a booking request form that lets the customer ask for a date before anything is confirmed.

Home page of the Bright Building & Renovations website

Bright Building & Renovations

Trades & construction · Adelaide, Adelaide Hills & Fleurieu

A licensed renovation builder in South Australia. Its 30-page site has seven service pages, seven service-area pages covering Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills and the Fleurieu, planning guides, a project gallery and a seven-step quote form. A workshop that wants customers from Caloundra to Noosa can split its area into pages the same way.

Home page of the Cape Fishing Charters website

Cape Fishing Charters

Community, creative & tourism · Cape Jervis

Full-day fishing charters out of Cape Jervis, South Australia. The one-page site has a booking request form, gift voucher requests, a catch photo gallery, an FAQ and reviews. The customer asks for a date rather than booking it outright, and a request for a pre-trip 4WD check before a long weekend can work the same way.

“My website is exactly how I wanted. I highly recommend Salem for any business wanting a professional website without the bull.”

Questions Sunshine Coast mechanics ask us

Should we target the whole Sunshine Coast or just our end?

Your end first. A driver in Pelican Waters and one in Noosaville are at opposite ends of the coast and rarely want the same workshop. Name the suburbs close to you, and add the far end only if you really want work from there.

What should a 4WD preparation page include?

The beach you're getting people ready for, the checks you do (tyres, suspension, cooling, recovery points, underbody after the trip), how far ahead to book, and a link to Queensland Parks and Wildlife for permits and current conditions. We keep it to the work you actually do, in your words.

How do we explain lifts and loan cars?

Plainly, near the top of the page: whether you drive customers within a set distance, have a loan car, or collect from home or work, and how to ask for it on the form. With the coastal centres off the railway line, it's one of the first things people want to know.

Are the inspection rules any different up here?

No. Safety certificates, certificates of inspection, modifications and defect notices work the same way in Noosa Shire and Sunshine Coast Council as in Brisbane, because they're state schemes. Our Brisbane mechanics page sets them out.

How does an Adelaide team build a site for a Sunshine Coast workshop?

By phone and email. We're at Hutt St in Adelaide, our clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD, and we don't visit workshops. You send your details and photos, we send a draft link, you ask for as many changes as you like, and you pay only once you approve it. We reply within 24 hours.
