Website Design for Mechanics on the Gold Coast

Websites for Gold Coast workshops and mobile mechanics, from Yatala and Ormeau down to Currumbin and Coolangatta. Directions that bring a first-time customer to the right unit in the right estate, a clear page for cars arriving from interstate, and booking times that read correctly on both sides of the border.

What a Gold Coast workshop's site has to sort out

The Gold Coast is a long coastal strip, its council's economic profile lists a dozen major industrial precincts, and the city shares a border with New South Wales. So beyond the usual services and hours, a workshop site here gets three extra questions: where exactly are you, what can you do for a car registered in another state, and which side of the border is the appointment time on?

  • Directions that get past the estate entrance

In an estate in Molendinar, Arundel or Burleigh Heads, one tilt-up unit looks much like the next. Give the street and unit number, a photo of your frontage and signage, where customers can park, and a map pin dropped on your driveway rather than the estate gate. First-time customers who can't find you tend to ring the next workshop instead.

  • Interstate cars moving to Queensland rego

Bringing a car's registration across to Queensland from another state needs a Queensland safety certificate, and only an approved inspection station can issue one. A short section for new arrivals, saying you do these inspections and what to bring, reaches people who haven't been through the process before.

  • Be straight about NSW-registered cars

Transport for NSW only accepts an inspection report from an interstate station when the vehicle is more than 50 km from the NSW border. A car kept around Coolangatta, Currumbin or Burleigh Heads is well inside that distance, so its NSW safety check still has to come from a NSW station. Servicing and repairs are another matter, and the site can say clearly which of those you'll happily do.

  • Appointment times in Queensland time

From early October to early April, New South Wales is an hour ahead of Queensland. If customers come over from Tweed Heads or Kingscliff, write "Queensland time" next to your opening hours and in the confirmation email or text. It's one line, and it saves a customer turning up an hour out.

  • Fleet accounts for the northern precincts

If trades and delivery businesses from Yatala, Stapylton or Ormeau already bring you their vans and utes, a fleet page is worth having. Explain how monthly accounts and priority bookings work, whether you collect from the yard, and add a form that asks how many vehicles they run and what kinds.

  • Coverage that matches the coast

Say which stretch you actually serve. A mobile mechanic based in Nerang might go to Helensvale and Robina without a second thought but draw the line at Coolangatta for a battery swap. Writing that down, with any travel charge for the far end, saves phone calls that go nowhere.

Queensland rules, the border and Gold Coast industrial estates

Inspections work the same way on the Gold Coast as anywhere else in Queensland. Safety certificates, the annual certificates of inspection for booked hire vehicles, taxis and limousines, modification approvals and defect notice clearances all run through Transport and Main Roads schemes. Our Brisbane mechanics page goes through those rules in more detail. On a Gold Coast site we put your approval number where customers will see it and describe what you're approved for in TMR's words.

The City of Gold Coast's economic profile lists twelve major industrial precincts. Among them, in the north, are Yatala, Stapylton and the part of Ormeau east of the Pacific Motorway; through the middle run Helensvale, Arundel, Molendinar, Ashmore and Nerang; and further south are Burleigh Heads, Varsity Lakes and Currumbin Waters. If your workshop is in one of them, name the precinct and your street together in the heading area, because customers may search by the estate's suburb as well as by "Gold Coast". Then add the walking-in detail: which driveway, which roller door, where the office is.

Coolangatta sits right on the state line next to Tweed Heads, and the border affects a workshop in two practical ways. The first is paperwork. A car whose registration is moving to Queensland needs a Queensland safety certificate, while a car staying on NSW rego can't have its NSW safety check done by a Queensland station anywhere within 50 km of the border, which takes in Coolangatta, Currumbin and Burleigh. The second is time. NSW observes daylight saving and Queensland doesn't, so for half the year the two sides are an hour apart; for 2026–27 that runs from 4 October to 4 April. Booking confirmations should state the time zone every time.

We're an Adelaide team and work with Gold Coast businesses by phone and email, so nobody needs to come out to the workshop. One of our Queensland clients is M.J. Debney Plumbing & Gas, and its one-page site is shown below. You send the details and photos, we send a draft link you can check between jobs, and you pay once you've approved it.

Examples from our portfolio

We haven't built a site for a Gold Coast mechanic yet. These two show the parts a workshop relies on most: a Queensland trade's single page built around photos and tap-to-call, and a booking request form where the customer picks a day and the business confirms it.

Home page of the M.J. Debney Plumbing & Gas website

M.J. Debney Plumbing & Gas

Trades & construction · Queensland

A licensed Queensland plumber and gas fitter. One page: six services, a 13-photo project gallery that swipes on a phone, testimonials, a protected contact form and tap-to-call. Swap the job photos for your hoists, your frontage and the way into the estate, and the same layout works for a mechanic.

Home page of the Cape Fishing Charters website

Cape Fishing Charters

Community, creative & tourism · Cape Jervis

Full-day fishing charters out of Cape Jervis in South Australia. The one-page site has a booking request form, so the customer asks for a date rather than booking it outright. A service request works the same way with the rego, the car and a drop-off day, and the confirmation can spell out that the time is Queensland time.

“They were very helpful and envisioned exactly what I was wanting for my website. They created the site very promptly and cost efficient.”

Questions Gold Coast mechanics ask us

Can we do safety certificates for people who've moved from NSW?

If you're an approved inspection station, yes: moving a car's registration to Queensland from another state needs a Queensland safety certificate. A short section for new arrivals explaining that, with the request form beside it, is worth having. A NSW pink slip is a different thing, and we'd word the site so it doesn't suggest you can provide one.

How should the site handle the time difference with Tweed?

Put "Queensland time" beside your opening hours and in every booking confirmation. During NSW daylight saving, from early October to early April, Tweed Heads is an hour ahead of the Gold Coast. It's a small detail, and it heads off missed drop-offs.

Should we name the industrial estate or the suburb?

Both. The suburb goes near the main heading, the street and unit number under it, and a sentence explains how to find you once you're inside the estate. A clear photo of the frontage helps more than people expect.

Is a fleet page worth it for a Gold Coast workshop?

If local businesses already bring you vans and utes, yes. A page that sets out how accounts, reminders and priority bookings work, with a form asking how many vehicles and what types, lets a fleet manager enquire without a long phone call. If fleet work isn't something you want more of, leave it out.

We're on the Gold Coast and you're in Adelaide. How does that work?

Everything happens by phone and email. Our clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD, and outside Adelaide we work this way with all of them. You send your details and photos, we send a draft link, you ask for changes until it's right, and you pay only when you approve it. We reply within 24 hours.

Tell us which estate and street you're on, what you're approved to inspect, and whether cars come over from the NSW side. We'll send a quote and then a draft, and you pay once you approve it.
