The City of Gold Coast is Queensland's second most populous council area after Brisbane, and Council puts its population at over 647,000, heading for about a million by 2050. It isn't one town with one centre. Southport is the CBD, Robina further south has its own hospital and university, and in the north Pimpama, which the Member for Coomera called one of Queensland's fastest-growing suburbs, got the coast's first new train station in 16 years in October 2025. Nerang and the valleys sit behind the beaches. Somebody in Currumbin is unlikely to drive to Coomera for a haircut, so a Gold Coast website should say plainly which stretch of the coast you serve or where you're based, in the text and not only on a map.
Tourism has shaped much of the city's economy. Two of the big theme parks are in the north, Dreamworld at Coomera and Warner Bros. Movie World at Oxenford, while visitors staying in Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach search on their phones for meals, tours and things to do in suburbs they don't know. A business that relies on them needs a site that works for a stranger: what you offer, what it costs or how to get a price, where to park, and how to book. Locals want different things from the same page, such as hours outside school holidays, so it can help to give each group its own section.
Health and education are strengths of the local economy as well. Gold Coast University Hospital in Southport and Robina Hospital are the two major public hospitals, and a third public hospital is planned for Coomera. Griffith University's Gold Coast campus is at Southport, Bond University is at Robina and Southern Cross University has a campus at Bilinga, near the airport. For an allied health clinic, a tutor or a gym near any of them, a booking link and a short note on parking and public transport often matter more to a new client than a long about page.
Some businesses here sell to other businesses. Screen production is one of the sectors Invest Gold Coast promotes, centred on Village Roadshow Studios beside Movie World at Oxenford, and Council's planning for industrial land takes in the marine industry precinct at Coomera. A crew supplier, a marine electrician or a fabricator is chosen on what they've done before, so the site needs past jobs with photos, equipment, certifications and a contact form that asks for the details of the work.
We're based in Adelaide, at Ste 3/110 Hutt St, and we work with Gold Coast businesses by phone and email; we don't have staff on the coast or hold meetings there. Queensland doesn't use daylight saving, so for half the year Adelaide runs half an hour ahead of the coast and for the other half, half an hour behind. If you're in a trade, our pages for Gold Coast tradies, plumbers, electricians and builders cover licence details and jobs over the border in Tweed.
