Website Design for Electricians on the Gold Coast

Websites for electricians and electrical contractors across the Gold Coast, from new homes in Coomera to apartment towers in Surfers Paradise. Your contractor licence on every page, the jobs landlords and building managers ring about, and a quote form that copes with unit numbers.

What a Gold Coast electrician’s website needs

Electrical jobs on the coast come from owner-occupiers, landlords, property managers and building managers, and each wants something a little different from your site. All of them want to see that you’re licensed, that you do their kind of job, and that sending you the details is quick.

  • Licence details in the footer

Your licensed or registered business name, a line saying you’re licensed under the Electrical Safety Act 2002, and your electrical contractor licence number, on every page. That’s what Queensland’s regulation asks of your advertising, and it’s the number a customer can look up on the Electrical Safety Office’s licence search.

  • A path for landlords and property managers

If you work on rental properties, a short section on smoke alarm and safety switch compliance for rentals, with a form that asks for the property address, the agency and the tenant’s contact details, makes it easy for an agent to book you.

  • Unit and body corporate requests

Surfers Paradise has many high-rise apartment buildings. In a tower, the form should ask for the building, the unit number and who’s arranging access, so you know whether to call the resident, the building manager or the body corporate before you turn up.

  • Smoke alarms before and after 1 January 2027

From that date every Queensland home needs interconnected photoelectric alarms. Say which alarms you fit, and that you replace hardwired units with hardwired ones, which the Queensland Fire Department says must be installed by an electrician.

  • Solar checks that explain the reason

Panels, inverters and batteries age, and a storm can damage them. A plain section on what your solar check covers, and that a licensed electrician does it, gives an owner a reason to book one before something fails.

  • Border suburbs handled carefully

Tweed Heads and Banora Point are in New South Wales, on a different electricity network and under different licensing. We only list them once you’ve confirmed you can take work there.

Electrical work on the Gold Coast: what your site should cover

Queensland licenses electrical work through the Electrical Safety Office. An individual electrician holds an electrical mechanic licence, which covers all electrical work, while the business needs an electrical contractor licence to contract for jobs. From 1 September 2026 the rules are in the Electrical Safety Regulation 2026, which replaced the 2013 regulation. Under section 188, a contractor’s advertisements, websites included, have to give the licensed or registered business name, say the business is licensed under the Act and show the contractor licence number.

Two sets of compliance rules shape a lot of residential work in Queensland. Homes sold or leased since 1 January 2022 have needed interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms, and from 1 January 2027 the rule reaches every home: alarms meeting AS 3786-2014 in each bedroom, in hallways that connect bedrooms and on every storey. The Queensland Fire Department also says to replace alarms that are more than 10 years old or contain an ionisation sensor. For safety switches, a landlord has to have one fitted to the power point circuits when a new tenancy starts, if there isn’t one already, and a buyer has the same obligation after taking possession.

Solar and batteries need their own heading. Installing a solar system, and any maintenance that involves electrical work, is a job for a licensed electrician, and a damaged solar or battery system should be inspected and repaired by a licensed electrical contractor before it’s switched back on. After a storm, that’s a job customers need to find quickly, so it deserves its own heading rather than a line in a long list.

The southern edge of the city is the state border. Energex runs the network across South East Queensland down to Coolangatta, while Tweed Heads, Coolangatta’s twin town, sits on Essential Energy’s network and under New South Wales licensing. A Queensland licence may not cover work there on its own, so check with Building Commission NSW what applies to you before your site advertises jobs south of the border.

The City of Gold Coast runs from the Albert River to the border and is split into 14 council divisions, so we’d list the suburbs you actually serve in groups: the northern growth suburbs around Coomera and Pimpama, the central strip from Southport to Broadbeach, the southern beaches and the hinterland. We’re an Adelaide team at Hutt St and work with Queensland businesses by phone and email; you see a draft on your phone before paying anything.

Websites we’ve built for other trades

We don’t have an electrician client yet, so these are the nearest matches from other trades: M.J. Debney Plumbing & Gas, a licensed Queensland trade business, and Bright Building & Renovations in Adelaide, whose service-area pages and step-by-step quote form are the same pieces a larger electrical contractor would use.

Questions Gold Coast electricians ask us

Can our website advertise work in Tweed Heads?

Only once you know you can do it. Tweed Heads is in New South Wales, which runs its own electrical licensing, and it sits on a different network from the rest of the coast. Check with Building Commission NSW whether your Queensland licence is enough or you need something more, then we’ll add those suburbs and any NSW licence details.

Is a separate page for property managers worth it?

If rental work is a big part of your business, it can be. A page covering smoke alarm compliance, safety switches for new tenancies and routine call-outs, with a form asking for the agency and property address, gives a property manager what they need to book you. On a one-page site it fits as a short section.

What should our smoke alarm section say after 1 January 2027?

Once every home is covered, the message moves from the deadline to checking and replacing. The Queensland Fire Department says alarms more than 10 years old, or with an ionisation sensor, should be replaced, which gives you something useful to say all year. We change that text for you as part of the $30 monthly hosting.

Where does our licence number go?

In the footer of every page, next to your business name and a line saying you’re licensed under the Electrical Safety Act 2002. We can also repeat it beside the quote form, where a customer is deciding whether to get in touch.

How do you work with a Gold Coast business from Adelaide?
