Website Design for Law Firms

Websites for law firms, solicitors and legal practices that look as careful as your work and make the first step easy for a worried client.

What a law firm website needs to do

Most people looking for a lawyer are stressed, unsure what they need and worried about cost. Your site has to show you're qualified and real, say plainly what you handle, and make the first contact feel small and private.

  • Credentials up front

Practising certificates, law society membership, admission years and any accredited specialist status, near the top and on each solicitor's profile, with real names and photos.

  • Practice areas in clients' words

Family law, wills and estates, conveyancing, employment, criminal: each named plainly and, where it matters, given its own page.

  • A small, private first step

A short confidential enquiry form or online booking for a first consultation, with a line on what happens next, instead of a bare "Contact us".

  • Honesty about costs

A "from" price for fixed-fee work like a simple will or a conveyance, and a plain explanation of how other matters are charged.

  • Advertising rules respected

No wording that promises an outcome, and extra care in areas like personal injury, where advertising is restricted in some states. You approve every word before launch.

  • Calm on a phone

Plain type, plenty of space and a tap-to-call number, because many people start looking for a lawyer on their phone.

  • Payment. No deposit. We build your draft first, you ask for as many changes as you like, and you pay once you approve it. If you don't go ahead, you owe nothing.
  • GST. WebCraft Studio isn't registered for GST, so no GST is added.
  • Timing. Most sites are live within 5–10 days of us getting your words and photos; bigger sites (up to 8 pages) take 2–3 weeks.
  • Hosting. After launch, hosting is $30 a month: hosting, security monitoring, backups, email support and unlimited text and image changes on your existing pages. New pages or features are quoted first. No contract, cancel anytime.
  • Domain and email. We register your domain in your name (about $20 a year), connect it to your site and set up your business email.

Questions law firms ask us

Can clients book a consultation online?

Yes. We can link your site to an online booking tool or add a short intake form. For Resolve Forward we built priced packages linked to online booking and a five-step intake form.

Should a law firm website show prices?

For fixed-fee work, a "from" price helps, because fear of an open-ended bill stops many people from enquiring. For other matters, a plain explanation of how you charge does a similar job. You decide what goes on the site.

Do you understand the advertising rules for lawyers?

We know legal services advertising is regulated and that personal injury advertising is restricted in some states, so we avoid wording that promises an outcome. Your firm stays responsible for compliance, and you approve every word before launch.

Which package suits a law firm?

A sole practitioner with one or two practice areas can start with the one-page site at $399. For most small firms we suggest the 3-page site at $899, so the main practice areas get their own page. Firms with several solicitors are better suited to the 8-page site at $1,499.

Ready to talk about your firm's website?

Tell us your practice areas and how you'd like clients to make contact. We'll send a quote, then build your draft before you pay anything.
