Website Design for Electricians on the Sunshine Coast

Websites for electricians working anywhere from Caloundra and the new streets of Aura to Maroochydore, Coolum, Noosa and the range towns inland. Your contractor licence on every page, a clear route in for holiday-let owners who need a smoke alarm certificate, and tap-to-call for the job that can’t wait.

What a Sunshine Coast electrician’s website needs

The coast is split between two councils, Noosa has its own local law for holiday lets, a new town is taking shape at Caloundra South, and the hinterland villages are a long drive from the beach. Each of those brings a different kind of electrical job, and your site should show which ones you want.

  • Smoke alarm certificates for Noosa holiday lets

Since February 2022, Noosa Council has required approval for every short-stay let in the shire unless it’s exempt, renewed each year. The application has to include written evidence of a current electrical safety certification for the smoke alarms, issued by a licensed electrical contractor. If you do that work, a section written for owners and letting agents, with a form asking for the property address and when the paperwork is due, puts you in the path of it.

  • A quick line in for letting managers

The same law requires each short-stay let to have a contact person who lives or works within 20 km, can be reached 24 hours a day and responds to a complaint within 30 minutes. Managers carrying that responsibility want trades who pick up. If you look after holiday properties, say how you handle their calls and whether you hold keys or collect them from the agency.

  • Licence details an absent owner can check

An owner who runs a holiday let from Brisbane or interstate can’t size you up in person, so the details need to be easy to find: the name your contractor licence is held under or your registered business name, a line that you’re licensed under the Electrical Safety Act 2002, and the licence number, at the foot of every page.

  • New homes in Aura and the other growth areas

Caloundra South, the priority development area where Aura is being built, is planned for about 20,000 dwellings across 2,323.5 hectares between the Bruce Highway and the Bells Creek Arterial, with its own business and industry park. If you rough-in for builders there, or come back to add fans, outdoor lights and data points once owners have the keys, name the estate and show the work.

  • Commercial work in its own section

The coast’s bigger sites include the Sunshine Coast University Hospital at Birtinya, the university’s main campus at Sippy Downs and the airport at Marcoola. If you do commercial fit-outs or maintenance, give that work its own section or page, so a facilities manager isn’t scrolling past ceiling fans to find out whether you do three-phase.

  • Towns grouped by council and by trip

Pomona, Cooran and Kin Kin are in Noosa Shire, while Maleny, Montville and Mapleton sit up the range in Sunshine Coast Council’s hinterland. We group your areas under the coast, the range and Noosa, so a customer in any of them can see at a glance whether you’d make the drive.

Electrical work on the Sunshine Coast and in Noosa

Licensing works here exactly as it does in the rest of Queensland, and our Brisbane electrician page explains it: the Electrical Safety Office licenses electrical work, the business holds an electrical contractor licence, and section 188 of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2026, in force since 1 September 2026, says what an advertisement or website must show. The 1 January 2027 deadline for interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms in every Queensland home applies on the coast too, and Energex runs the network. What’s particular to this region is how it’s divided and the rules Noosa sets for homes let to visitors.

Sunshine Coast Council covers 2,254 square kilometres and had 342,541 residents at the 2021 census, across 10 divisions, with its seat at Maroochydore. Noosa Shire was folded into the region in 2008, voted to leave in 2013 and was re-established on 1 January 2014. It takes in about 870 square kilometres and 56,298 residents (2021), from Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Tewantin and Sunshine Beach to Peregian Beach, Cooroy, Pomona, Cooran, Kin Kin and Boreen Point, and borders Gympie Regional Council. Your site should name the towns you cover on both sides of that line.

Noosa’s Short Stay Letting and Home Hosted Accommodation Local Law has applied since February 2022. A short-stay let needs council approval, renewed annually, and the application comes with a site plan, a floor plan, proof that the use is lawful, a building certifier’s confirmation, a current pool safety certificate where there’s a pool or spa, and written evidence of a current electrical safety certification for the smoke alarms from a licensed electrical contractor. That puts smoke alarm certification in front of every short-stay owner in the shire, and leaves managers needing trades who answer between guests. We’d keep your wording short and link to council’s page for the detail, because owners should take the rules from council, not from a trade website.

Growth on the Sunshine Coast side is concentrated in a few places. Caloundra South was declared a priority development area on 28 October 2010, and its development scheme plans for about 20,000 dwellings and 15,000 jobs, with Aura Town Centre and the Aura Business and Industry Park among the endorsed plans. Solar isn’t new here either: Sunshine Coast Council has run its own 15-megawatt solar farm at Valdora, near Yandina, since July 2017, so a section on rooftop solar, inverters and batteries won’t need much explaining to local customers.

We’re an Adelaide web design team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St, working with Queensland businesses by phone and email. Nobody needs to meet: you email your licence details, towns and job photos, we send a draft link to check on your phone, and you approve it before you pay anything.

Trade sites we’ve built

We haven’t built a site for an electrician yet. The nearest examples are trade sites where photos of finished work do most of the persuading: a licensed Queensland plumbing and gas business, and an excavation and pool-building firm in regional New South Wales.

Home page of the M.J. Debney Plumbing & Gas website

M.J. Debney Plumbing & Gas

Trades & construction · Queensland

A licensed Queensland plumber and gas fitter. One page covers six services and carries a 13-photo gallery that swipes on a phone, testimonials, a protected contact form and tap-to-call, the same layout a sole-trader electrician could use.

Home page of the Tomi's Bobcat and Excavation website

Tomi's Bobcat and Excavation

Trades & construction · South Pambula & Bega Valley

Bobcat and excavator operators in the Bega Valley who also build pools under licence. The one-page site has three service sections, a 42-photo gallery, a testimonial carousel and a contact form with its own thank-you page.

“My website is exactly how I wanted. I highly recommend Salem for any business wanting a professional website without the bull.”

Questions Sunshine Coast electricians ask us

Should our website mention Noosa’s short-stay rules?

If you want certificate work from holiday-let owners, yes, briefly and accurately. Say that Noosa Council asks for written evidence of a current electrical safety certification for the smoke alarms with a short-stay application, say that you provide it, and link to council’s short-stay letting page for everything else.

Can letting agents book a smoke alarm check online?

Yes. We can link a booking tool you already use, such as Calendly, or build an online booking system into the site, quoted as part of your job. A simpler start is a request form that asks for the property, the agency and the date the paperwork is needed, and lands in your inbox.

Do we need separate pages for Noosa and the Sunshine Coast?

Not on a one-page site, where two town lists under clear headings do the job. On the 8-page site, a page for each council area lets you show jobs and photos from each, and keep the holiday-let certificate material on the Noosa page where it belongs.

Most of our work is in new homes at Aura. What should the site show?

Photos of finished jobs captioned with the estate or suburb, the stages you handle for builders, and a list of the extras you offer once owners move in, such as fans, outdoor lights, data points or an EV charger. A builder and a new owner should each find their part within a scroll or two.

How do we get our photos and details to you?

Send them by email. Our team is in Adelaide and works with Queensland businesses by phone and email, so there’s no meeting to arrange. Photos straight off your phone are fine, and we size them for the page. Once the site is live, email us any wording or photo changes for your existing pages; they’re part of the $30 monthly hosting. We reply within 24 hours.
