Website Design for Bookkeepers in Adelaide

Websites for Adelaide bookkeepers and BAS agents, built by our team on Hutt St. Your packages and BAS agent number come first, then the South Australian work you take on for employers, from RevenueSA payroll tax and the ReturnToWorkSA remuneration return to portable long service returns for builders and community services providers, and then the suburbs you cover.

What an Adelaide bookkeeper's website has to answer

An owner checking your site usually has one job in mind: a ReturnToWorkSA return due in September, a first month over the payroll tax threshold, or a long service return for builders or support workers that nobody in the business has lodged before. They want to see that job named, and some idea of the fee, before they pick up the phone.

  • Your BAS agent number, then the state work

If you're a registered BAS agent, put your TPB registration number beside your name, linked to your entry on the register, with the software you work in just below it. Under that, group the South Australian jobs you take on by agency: RevenueSA, ReturnToWorkSA and SA Portable Long Service Leave. An owner who has just typed one of those names into a search should find a line saying you handle it.

  • A section for first-time employers

A sole trader taking on a first worker often has no idea where they stand with ReturnToWorkSA. Registration is due within 14 days of employing someone, though a business expecting to pay less than $16,806 in total wages in 2026-27 needn't register unless a worker is injured. If you sort out registrations and the yearly remuneration return, a short section addressed to new employers catches that owner at the right moment, with a link to ReturnToWorkSA for the current figure.

  • Builders and the two-monthly long service return

Construction employers here lodge a return with SA Portable Long Service Leave every two months, recording service days and wages for each worker doing building, electrical or metal trades work. If you prepare those returns, say so on your page for trade clients, and mention apprentices, who must be recorded with the scheme but attract no levy. A builder reading that can tell you've filled one in before.

  • NDIS and community services providers

South Australia's community services scheme began on 1 October 2025, so a disability support or home care provider has only been lodging its quarterly returns for about a year. Office, HR and payroll staff can be covered too, if at least half their time goes to supporting community services work. One line saying you register providers and lodge their returns reaches employers still working out what the scheme asks of them.

  • December's pay runs

From 7 pm to midnight on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are public holidays in South Australia, and the Proclamation Day holiday falls on 26 December; with that being a Saturday this year, Monday 28 December is an additional holiday. A note on your payroll page, or a short post each December about how you apply award penalty rates over the break, tells cafe, retail and hospitality employers you know the local calendar.

  • Fees, and the days you're working

Fixed packages with a starting price save a round of emails. Jobs and Skills Australia's profile shows about two-thirds of the country's bookkeepers work part time, and an owner may be quite content with a bookkeeper who works three days a week, as long as they know that going in. Say which days you're available and how quickly you answer email, and they can decide before they call.

  • An enquiry form that asks the SA questions

Business type, software, number of staff and pay frequency, then three yes-or-no questions: registered for payroll tax, registered with ReturnToWorkSA, and employing any construction or community services workers. The answers tell you which state returns a new client brings with them before the first call.

What South Australian payroll adds to an Adelaide bookkeeper's year

Registration, then RevenueSA. BAS agent registration with the Tax Practitioners Board is national, and our main bookkeeper page covers how a site should display it and where bookkeeping stops and BAS services start; our page for Adelaide accountants deals with land tax and stamp duty. The state work an employer is more likely to hand a bookkeeper is payroll. RevenueSA's registration point is $1.5 million a year in Australia-wide taxable wages. Registered employers then lodge a return every month, due on the 7th of the month after, followed by an annual reconciliation, which for 2025-26 was due on 28 July 2026. RevenueSA says a missed reconciliation can bring a default assessment, interest and penalty tax.

ReturnToWorkSA. Work injury insurance is the other state account most employers hold. Registration is due within 14 days of taking on a worker, unless total wages for 2026-27 will stay under $16,806; even then, an injury means reporting it, registering and paying the minimum premium. The employer remuneration return opens on 2 July each year and is due by 15 September. Employers choose between declaring last year's actual remuneration only, or actual remuneration plus an estimate for the current year, which is squared up at year end and can produce a refund or an extra bill. Premiums of more than a thousand dollars are paid in one sum by 7 October or in nine equal instalments from October to June, while smaller ones are paid in one sum by 7 November. ReturnToWorkSA held its average premium rate at 1.85% for 2026-27, the fourth year at that level, though what each business pays depends on its industry, its wages and its claims.

Two portable long service schemes. SA Portable Long Service Leave runs two schemes from Fullarton Road in Eastwood: construction and community services. Construction employers register within a month of employing covered workers and lodge a return every two months, due on the 21st of the following month (September and October 2026 are due by 21 November), with a levy of 2.00% of declared remuneration. A service day means five hours or more, casuals count once they work three such days in a month, and apprentices are recorded but levy-free. The community services scheme started on 1 October 2025. It covers employees in SCHADS Award or Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement Award classifications who provide community services, plus staff who spend at least half their time supporting that work. Its returns are quarterly, due on 21 January, April, July and October, with a levy of 2.2% of gross remuneration. The scheme links that rate to South Australia's long service entitlement of 13 weeks after 10 years, an amount many other jurisdictions only reach after 15.

A holiday calendar of its own. The Fair Work Ombudsman's list of South Australian public holidays for 2026 includes Adelaide Cup Day on 9 March, part-day holidays from 7 pm to midnight on 24 and 31 December, and the Proclamation Day holiday on Saturday 26 December, with an additional public holiday on Monday 28 December. What an employee is paid for those hours depends on their award or agreement, so a bookkeeper who runs pays for restaurants, shops or care providers works through them every year. If that's you, the payroll page is the place to say it.

Where your clients are, and where we are. Name the suburb you work from and the areas you visit, whether that's Elizabeth and the rest of the City of Playford, Norwood and the eastern suburbs, or the Adelaide Hills and the Fleurieu, then explain how clients further out send their paperwork and meet with you online. Working from home, you can give the suburb and leave the street off. As for us, we're at Ste 3/110 Hutt St in the city, so there's no time difference to plan around. Most projects run by phone and email even so, which lets you check a draft between client files, and if you'd rather sit down before work starts, call and we'll arrange it.

Two Adelaide clients with ideas a bookkeeper can borrow

We haven't built a bookkeeper's website yet, though we have built one for an accounting firm. Each of these Adelaide sites solves a problem a bookkeeping practice has: showing a fee before anyone enquires, and covering a wide service area without one long list of suburbs. The review below is from a business that valued knowing its price up front.

Home page of the Simple Engineers website

Simple Engineers

Professional services · Adelaide

Structural engineers in Adelaide. Choose a service on their quote form and it shows an estimated fee range before the enquiry goes, with room to upload plans and photos. A bookkeeper's version could show a starting fee for quarterly BAS or a monthly payroll package and accept last year's BAS or a trial balance. Four service pages and 16 articles sit around the form.

Home page of the Bright Building & Renovations website

Bright Building & Renovations

Trades & construction · Adelaide, Adelaide Hills & Fleurieu

A licensed South Australian renovation builder working across Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills and the Fleurieu. Its 30-page site has seven service-area pages and a seven-step quote form. A bookkeeper who visits clients in Mount Barker or Victor Harbor could have an area page for each, and a stepped enquiry form that asks about staff, software and state registrations one screen at a time.

“…Salem walked us through everything, gave us a fixed quote so we knew exactly what we were paying, and turned around the build faster than we thought possible.”

Questions Adelaide bookkeepers ask us

You're in Adelaide too. Can we sit down with you?

Yes. We're at Ste 3/110 Hutt St, Adelaide SA 5000, and can arrange a time if you'd like to talk the site through in person. Once your words and photos are with us, most Adelaide projects still run by phone and email, because a draft link is easier to check between client files than a meeting is. Call 0451 072 412 or email us; we reply within 24 hours.

Most of our clients are NDIS providers. Should the site mention the community services long service scheme?

If you register providers and lodge their quarterly returns, yes, in a sentence on your services page. The obligation only began on 1 October 2025, and it can reach office, HR and payroll roles as well as support workers. Link to SA Portable Long Service Leave's eligibility page (opens in a new tab) rather than summarising who's covered, and keep the advice for each client. Our page for Adelaide NDIS providers shows what those clients' own sites deal with.

Should we publish the ReturnToWorkSA threshold or the long service levy rates?

We'd name the work and link to the source. ReturnToWorkSA sets its registration threshold for each financial year, and SA Portable Long Service Leave reviews the community services levy annually, so a copied figure can be wrong by next July. If you still want a figure shown, changing it later is a text edit on an existing page, which the $30 monthly hosting covers.

We look after builders in the Hills and on the Fleurieu. One page or several?

On a 3-page site, one service-area section naming the towns, how often you visit and how remote clients get their paperwork to you is enough. On an 8-page site, a page for the Hills and another for the Fleurieu can each speak to the clients there, the way Bright Building's area pages do for its renovations. A single page for trade clients then explains the two-monthly construction returns once, for everyone.

Can the site take payment for a fixed-fee BAS package?

Yes. We build online booking and payment systems into sites, and quote them separately once we know how you want yours to work. If all you need is for new clients to book a first call, a button that opens the scheduler you already use, such as Calendly, does the job without building anything new.

Want a website that lists the SA returns you lodge?

Send us your packages, your BAS agent number if you have one, the South Australian returns you prepare and the areas you cover. We'll quote first, build the draft from your words and photos, and you pay only once you approve it.

We reply within 24 hours. Prefer email? info@webcraftstudio.com.au
