Website Design for Startups and New Businesses in Logan

For people going out on their own anywhere in the City of Logan, from Springwood and Logan Central to Park Ridge, Jimboomba and Yarrabilba: a first website arranged from your own words and photos, a .com.au registered to you and an email address that matches it. You see the draft before anything is paid.

What a first Logan website needs to cover

Most of Logan's new businesses have no employees. In the year to June 2025 the city gained a net 1,638 businesses, and businesses with no employees accounted for 1,349 of that increase, according to council's economic development office. So the first website usually stands in for a front desk: it says what you do and where, shows who's behind it, and collects enquiries while you're out on a job.

  • Written for the business that hires you

Plenty of new Logan businesses sell to another business before they sell to a household: an owner-driver contracted by a freight company, a subcontractor working for a builder, a support worker taking referrals from a provider or coordinator. That reader wants your ABN, what you'll take on, your insurance and when you're available, and wants to find all four in under a minute.

  • A quote form that asks the right questions

For deliveries, removals or any mobile service, the form can ask for the pick-up and drop-off suburbs, the date and roughly how much there is to move or do. That way you can price the job from the cab before you ring back. On a phone, a call button sits at the top of every page.

  • Suburbs, not just "Logan"

The city runs from Underwood and Rochedale South near the Brisbane boundary down to Jimboomba, Cedar Vale and Yarrabilba, and across to Beenleigh and Eagleby. Name the suburbs you'll drive to from home. If you'll also cross into Brisbane's southside or the northern Gold Coast, give those a line of their own.

  • Your customers' language, if it isn't English

At the 2021 Census, 18.1% of Logan residents spoke a language other than English at home. If you serve a community in its own language, say so near the top of the page. We can add a section or a whole page in that language from text you supply, and the contact form can ask which language someone would like to be called back in.

  • Licence and registration details on every page

If your work needs a licence or a registration, the details belong in the footer so they're there wherever someone lands. Our Logan tradies page sets out what QBCC and electrical licence holders must show, and our Logan NDIS provider page is the place to start if you're setting up as a provider.

  • A name that can outgrow one estate

A business named after the estate you live in reads well to the neighbours, but can look odd once you're taking work three suburbs away. If you're still choosing a name, tell us before you print anything and we'll check whether the .com.au is free when we quote.

Starting a business in Logan: council help, home rules and who's starting up

The steps that apply across Queensland, Business Launchpad for the licences and permits your activity needs and Mentoring for Growth sessions once you've started trading, are explained on our page for new Brisbane businesses. Logan got the Launchpad early. Council's economic development office announced in April 2021 that it now covered food and beverage and residential construction businesses in the Logan council area, and by July that year the state government said more than 1,700 people had used the Launchpads in Logan and Townsville.

Council's own business help comes through the Logan Office of Economic Development (LOED) at 150 Wembley Road, Logan Central. Its starting-a-business page offers low- or no-cost support to small business owners based in the city, including confidential one-on-one meetings with a small business adviser, workshops on its events calendar and a monthly e-newsletter, and it sets out a ten-step guide that runs from planning and legal structure to insurance, finances and hiring. Before you lease, buy or fit out premises, it suggests confirming the use is allowed and asking for council's pre-lodgement advice, and it points to the Logan City Council Toolbox for requirements and fees by type of business. LOED is on 07 3412 4888.

Most people start from home. Council's residential projects page describes home-based businesses as dwellings first and businesses second: small-scale and run by the people who live there, with a home office, home-based childcare and a home-based food and drink business among its examples. No development approval is needed if the business meets the Logan Planning Scheme 2015, including all the acceptable outcomes of the codes that apply. Council says the business becomes code assessable once it has more than one non-resident employee or uses more than 50 square metres, and impact assessable, with public notification, beyond two non-resident employees, 100 square metres or any industrial activity. The planning enquiry tool in council's Logan PD Hub produces a report for your property and the home-based business activity, and food preparation needs a licence as well. If customers won't visit, the website only needs the suburbs you cover, not your street.

Figures LOED published in July 2026 counted 29,449 businesses in the city in June 2025. The most new businesses over the year were in transport, postal and warehousing, in construction, and in health care and social assistance, and sole traders and businesses with fewer than 20 staff made up 97.6% of the total. For a business like that, a single page often carries everything at the start: what you do, your area, your ABN, your licence if you hold one, and a way to get in touch. Our pages for transport and logistics businesses and removalists go further into what those customers look for.

We're an Adelaide team at Hutt St, and Logan businesses work with us by phone and email. None of the client sites below is in Logan; our Queensland clients include M.J. Debney Plumbing & Gas and Queensland Dance & Performing Arts on Brisbane's bayside. You send your words, photos and suburbs, we send back a draft link to check on your phone, and you pay once you approve it.

Sites for one-person and family businesses

Neither of these clients is in Logan, and we don't call them start-ups because we don't know how long each had been trading when it came to us. One is a care business that takes referrals as well as direct enquiries; the other is a Queensland trade that fits on a single page.

Questions from people starting a business in Logan

Do we need council approval to run a business from home in Logan?

Not if the business meets the Logan Planning Scheme 2015, including all the acceptable outcomes of the codes that apply, according to council. More than one non-resident employee or more than 50 square metres of business space makes it code assessable, and the planning enquiry tool in council's Logan PD Hub will report on your property. We look after the website rather than planning advice.

Is there local help with the business side of starting up?

Yes. The Logan Office of Economic Development offers low- or no-cost support to small business owners based in the city, including confidential one-on-one meetings with a small business adviser and workshops through the year. For a list of the licences and permits your activity needs, start with Business Launchpad. We handle the website, domain and email.

Can part of the website be in another language?

Yes. Send us the text in that language and we'll arrange it into its own section or page, set up so it displays properly on phones, and add a language choice to the contact form. The wording comes from you or a translator you trust; we arrange it rather than translate it.

We're an owner-driver with one main contract. Is a website worth it?

If all your work comes through one contract, your insurance and paperwork matter more than a website. A site earns its keep when you want a second client, or when a company asks where it can read about you. A single page with your vehicle, the areas you run, your ABN and a contact form is enough to start.

How does an Adelaide team build a site for a Logan business?

By phone and email. A call to talk through what you'll offer, then you email your words and photos and we send a draft link. You ask for changes the same way and pay once you approve it. Most sites are live within 5–10 days of us getting your words and photos; bigger sites (up to 8 pages) take 2–3 weeks.
