Website Design for NDIS Providers in Wollongong and the Illawarra

Websites for disability support providers working between Helensburgh and Kiama. Participants, families, plan managers and coordinators can see what you deliver, which suburbs and councils you cover, and how to send a referral or an invoice query.

What an Illawarra provider's website should answer

Across the NDIA's Illawarra Shoalhaven district, three in four plans are plan-managed, so the people reading your site include plan managers as well as families and coordinators. Each wants a different answer from the same page: do you come to us, can you start soon, and how do we pay you?

  • The south-west suburbs first

Across Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama, the NDIA's busiest statistical area at 30 June 2026 was Dapto–Avondale, with 930 participants, followed by Warilla (854) and Albion Park–Macquarie Pass (789). Horsley–Kembla Grange had 604. If your workers cover Dapto, Horsley, Kembla Grange or the newer West Dapto estates, name them near the top of the page rather than burying them under "Wollongong".

  • Shellharbour and Kiama as councils of their own

City of Shellharbour had 2,795 participants and Kiama 425, separate from Wollongong's 6,718. People in Warilla, Oak Flats, Flinders or Gerringong search with their own suburb or council in mind, so a list headed by council, then suburb, shows them quickly whether you're an option.

  • What a plan manager looks for

A plan manager paying your invoice wants to match it to the right business: your name as it appears on invoices, your ABN, whether you're registered, and who to contact about a query. Put those on your referrals or contact page. Families who self-manage can use the same section to see your rates and how you'd like to be paid.

  • Where your northern coverage stops

Fewer participants live in the northern suburbs: Thirroul–Austinmer–Coalcliff had 212 and Helensburgh 198, against 558 in Woonona–Bulli–Russell Vale. If your workers stop at Bulli or Corrimal, say so. A coordinator with a family in Stanwell Park would rather know before ringing than after.

  • Shoalhaven: in or out

The NDIA counts the City of Shoalhaven in the same Illawarra Shoalhaven district, and it had 3,540 participants on its own; the Nowra statistical area alone had 1,188. A coordinator in that district may assume you reach Nowra. If you do, give it a heading; if you stop at Kiama or Gerringong, a single line saying so prevents a wasted referral.

  • An early childhood section for Lifestart referrals

Lifestart is the NDIA's early childhood partner for Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama and Shoalhaven, delivering the early childhood approach for children younger than 9 and their families. If you provide therapy or support for young children, a short section with the ages you work with, your waitlist and a form that asks for the family's suburb helps that referral land.

NDIS providers in the Illawarra: growth, geography and how plans are managed

Rules shared with the rest of NSW. Registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and the NDIS Worker Check, which NSW runs through the Office of the Children's Guardian with applications started at Service NSW, are the same in Wollongong as in Sydney. Our Sydney NDIS provider page covers both, including the 1 July 2026 changes that made supported independent living a registered support. This section sticks to the Illawarra.

A district that has grown quickly. On 30 June 2026 the NDIA counted 13,478 active participants in its Illawarra Shoalhaven service district: 6,718 in the City of Wollongong, 3,540 in Shoalhaven, 2,795 in Shellharbour and 425 in Kiama. Four years earlier, Wollongong had 4,610 and Shellharbour 1,865, so both have grown by close to half. The district also had 760 participants receiving supported independent living. For a provider, growth like that tends to show up as waitlists, and a site that says plainly whether you're taking new participants, and for which supports, saves families and coordinators a phone call.

Where participants live. The coastal strip from Helensburgh to Kiama is long and narrow, and participants aren't spread evenly along it. Wollongong East and Wollongong West, which cover the city centre and nearby suburbs, had 418 and 469. The largest counts are in the south-west and across the council line: Dapto–Avondale (930), Warilla (854) and Albion Park–Macquarie Pass (789). North of the centre, Balgownie–Fairy Meadow had 647, and south of it Berkeley–Lake Heights–Cringila had 538 and Unanderra–Mount Kembla 530. West Dapto is still filling: in December 2024 the NSW Government said its first two stages, rezoned in 2010, were under development, and that much of stage 3 had been rezoned in March 2024 for up to 2,275 homes.

Partners and the funding mix. Uniting is the local area coordination partner for Illawarra Shoalhaven and Lifestart the early childhood partner. In the NDIA's plan management data, 74.7% of the district's plans were plan-managed, against 68.8% nationally, 16.9% were fully self-managed and 4.2% (572 plans) were agency-managed. Most participants here can therefore choose an unregistered provider, but agency-managed participants can only use registered ones, so a clear registration line still matters, worded the way the NDIS Commission's Provider Register shows it.

Working with us. We're an Adelaide team and work with Illawarra providers by phone and email. Our nearest client in kind is a NSW cleaning business in Lake Macquarie that includes NDIS cleans; we haven't yet built a site for a business whose main work is NDIS supports. You send your supports, areas and registration details, and we build a draft you can check on a phone before you pay anything.

Support and care websites we've built

Neither of these businesses has NDIS supports as its main work, and neither is in the Illawarra. They're here because one publishes its prices and the other gives referring providers their own way in, two things an Illawarra provider's site does for plan managers and coordinators.

Home page of the Phoenix Housekeeping website

Phoenix Housekeeping

Home & care services · Lake Macquarie, Cessnock & Central Coast

A family cleaning business in Lake Macquarie, NSW, offering NDIS cleans among its services. It publishes its prices on the site, which is the kind of detail a self-managing family or plan manager looks for, and has suburb pages across its service area and a discreet call-back option on the quote form.

Home page of the Golden Years Aged Care Support website

Golden Years Aged Care Support

Home & care services · Northern Adelaide

In-home aged care support in Northern Adelaide, with nine services explained on a single page in large, readable text. Its enquiry form gives aged care providers their own referral option, much as an Illawarra provider might give plan managers and coordinators a separate route in.

“From day one he was very professional and patient when making my website. I have so many clients coming through from it, truly amazing.”

Questions Illawarra NDIS providers ask us

Most of our participants are plan-managed. What should the site tell plan managers?

The details they need to match and pay your invoices: your business name as it appears on invoices, your ABN, your registration status and who handles invoice queries, with an email address that's actually monitored. Put them on the referrals or contact page so a plan manager isn't searching through your supports to find them. If anything about invoicing is a compliance question, the NDIA's guidance is the place to check.

We're based in Dapto. Should the site list Shellharbour suburbs too?

If your workers go there, yes. Warilla and Albion Park–Macquarie Pass had more participants on the NDIA's June 2026 figures than most Wollongong areas, and people there tend to search with their own suburb or council in mind. Group them under a Shellharbour heading so the council line is clear.

We only go as far north as Bulli. How do we show that without putting people off?

Name the last suburbs you cover and say plainly that you don't currently go further north. It reads as organised rather than unhelpful, and a coordinator in Helensburgh can move on quickly. If your coverage changes, the suburb list is plain text, and updating it is covered by the $30 monthly hosting.

Can our capacity and waitlist be shown on the site?

Yes. We'd put a short, dated capacity note on the supports page and the referrals page, such as which supports have openings and roughly when. When it changes, email us the new wording and we'll update it. If you'd like families to book an intake call online, we can link the booking tool you already use or build booking into the site, quoted separately.

How does an Adelaide team build for a Wollongong provider?

By phone and email. WebCraft Studio is based at Ste 3/110 Hutt St in Adelaide, and our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. We send a draft link, you ask for as many changes as you need, and you pay once you approve it. Most sites are live within 5–10 days of us getting your words and photos; bigger sites (up to 8 pages) take 2–3 weeks.
