Website Design for Allied Health Practices on the Gold Coast

Websites for physios, podiatrists, OTs, speech pathologists, dietitians and exercise physiologists from Pimpama and Coomera down to Coolangatta, including practices that see clients from over the border in Tweed, with booking times, locations and referral details that make sense in both states.

What a Gold Coast allied health website needs

The Gold Coast is a long strip of separate centres with a state border at its southern end. A practice site here has to say exactly which centre a clinic is in and how to get there, and, for anyone near Coolangatta, deal with the fact that half the year the clocks either side of the Tweed River disagree.

  • Booking times marked as Queensland time

From the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April, New South Wales is on daylight saving and Queensland isn't (this season, 4 October 2026 to 4 April 2027), so Tweed Heads runs an hour ahead of the clinic down the road in Coolangatta. Opening hours, class times and the booking page carry the words "Queensland time", and the confirmation text says it again, so a client from Banora Point doesn't turn up an hour early.

  • A separate page for rooms in NSW

If you also consult in Tweed Heads or Kingscliff, that location gets its own page: address, hours, practitioners and booking link, plus anything you're required to show as a NSW practice. The Queensland details stay on the Queensland pages, so neither set of rules gets blurred.

  • The tram stop or station, by name

Since August 2026 the G:link light rail has run from Helensvale to Burleigh Heads. A clinic in Southport, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach or Miami names its nearest stop, and one near Pimpama, Coomera, Nerang or Robina names its train station and says whether there's parking at the door.

  • North and south kept apart

A group with rooms in Coomera and Burleigh Heads serves two different catchments. Each clinic gets its own page and its own Book button that opens that location's calendar, so a parent in Upper Coomera isn't offered a southern appointment first.

  • Referral details for GPs on either side

Practices on the Gold Coast and in Tweed are supported by different primary health networks. A referrers page that says which areas you see clients from, in both states, and how to send a referral by secure messaging, email or fax, works for practice staff from Coomera to Kingscliff.

  • Bios written for the people who book

Profession, registration or association membership, the client groups each clinician sees most (children, sport, older adults, work injuries) and a direct booking link. Whether someone consults at both clinics, and on which days, saves a phone call.

Allied health on the Gold Coast: the border and the strip

The Queensland rules are the same here as in the capital: complaints about any health service go to the Office of the Health Ombudsman, practitioners outside Ahpra registration follow the National Code of Conduct for Health Care Workers (Queensland), and injured workers and road accident clients come through WorkCover Queensland and NIISQ. Our Brisbane allied health page explains each one with links to the official guidance. What follows is what's particular to the coast.

The border runs through the middle of one built-up area. Coolangatta is in Queensland and Tweed Heads in New South Wales, and the networks behind GPs split the same way: the Gold Coast PHN covers Coolangatta to Jacobs Well and west to Canungra, while Tweed Heads is the northern end of the North Coast PHN, which runs down the coast to Camden Haven. If you have rooms or do home visits on the NSW side, NSW's arrangements apply there, including the Health Care Complaints Commission and the state's code of conduct for non-registered practitioners; our Sydney allied health page sets those out.

The two sides don't look the same either. In the ABS's June 2025 estimates the City of Gold Coast had 691,230 residents, a median age of 39.3 and 17.9% aged 65 or over. Tweed Shire, with 101,044 residents, had a median age of 47.3 and 27.4% aged 65 or over. A clinic near the border that draws clients from Tweed as well is likely to see a larger share of older people than the Gold Coast figures suggest, and its site should suit them: large text, step-free access details and a phone number at the top of every page.

Getting around has changed recently. G:link's third stage opened to passengers on Sunday 9 August 2026, adding eight stops over 6.7 kilometres between Broadbeach and Burleigh Heads, including Mermaid Beach and Miami, so the light rail now runs from Helensvale to Burleigh Heads, with stops at Gold Coast University Hospital and Griffith University on the way. Clinics near the line can name their stop; clinics in the growth suburbs of the north, where Pimpama's train station opened in October 2025, can name theirs. The city grew by 11,944 people in 2024–25, and 8,986 of that came from overseas migration, so many potential clients are new to the coast and search by the suburb they've just moved to.

We're an Adelaide team and work with Gold Coast practices by phone and email, with current Queensland clients in Brisbane and elsewhere in the state. We haven't built an allied health site yet. The two projects below are the closest match for what a clinic site does.

Sites that do a clinic's jobs

Neither is an allied health practice. Dr Tabara Dione's site shows a practitioner's credentials and a Book button working together, and Queensland Dance & Performing Arts, a Queensland client, shows how a timetable and an enrolment form handle group sessions.

Home page of the Dr Tabara Dione Coaching website

Dr Tabara Dione Coaching

Professional services · Melbourne

Coaching for doctors from a Melbourne specialist anaesthetist. The about page covers her credentials, a contact form handles enquiries, and a discovery-call booking link sits on every page, which is how a clinician's bio and booking should sit together.

Home page of the Queensland Dance & Performing Arts website

Queensland Dance & Performing Arts

Community, creative & tourism · Thorneside, Brisbane's Bayside

A Brisbane dance school with a page for each program, a weekly timetable, a filterable gallery, FAQs and online enrolment. A clinic running Pilates, hydrotherapy or kids' groups at set times needs much the same: a schedule people can read on a phone and a form to claim a place.

Questions Gold Coast allied health practices ask us

A lot of our clients live in Tweed. What should change on the website?

Mark every time on the site as Queensland time, list the Tweed suburbs you draw from alongside the Gold Coast ones, and make sure the referrers page reads sensibly for a NSW GP. Medicare, DVA and NDIS funding work the same on both sides, so the funding section doesn't need two versions; state-based schemes such as workers compensation may, so keep those details per state.

We're opening rooms in Tweed Heads. Same website or a new one?

The same one, with a page for the Tweed location. It carries its own address, hours, practitioners and booking link, and anything NSW asks practices there to show. Adding a location page to an existing site is new work, so we'd quote it first; a practice with two or three locations and a few disciplines usually fits the 8-page site at $1,499.

Is it worth mentioning the G:link or the train?

If clients can use it, yes. One line naming the nearest stop or station, and whether it's a short walk, helps people who don't drive, including older clients and students. If you have your own car park, say how many spaces and whether there's a disabled bay; those details often decide whether someone books.

Can each of our clinics have its own Book button?

Usually. Many practice booking systems give each location, and often each practitioner, its own booking link. We put the right link on each location page and on each clinician's bio, so people land on the calendar they meant. If your system only has one booking page, we link to that and say on each location page which clinic to choose.

You're in Adelaide. How do we work together?

By phone and email. WebCraft Studio is at Ste 3/110 Hutt St, Adelaide, and works with businesses Australia-wide, with current clients in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. You send your practitioner details, fees, words and photos; we build the draft, you ask for as many changes as you need, and you pay once you're happy with it.
