The Queensland rules don't change at the council boundary. Complaints about health services go to the Office of the Health Ombudsman, practitioners outside Ahpra registration follow the National Code of Conduct for Health Care Workers (Queensland), and work and road injuries are funded through WorkCover Queensland and NIISQ. Our Brisbane allied health page sets each of those out with links to the official guidance, so this section stays on Moreton Bay itself.
The region is growing faster than Queensland as a whole. The ABS estimated the City of Moreton Bay's population at 532,445 on 30 June 2025, up 10,951 or 2.1% in a year, against 1.8% for the state. Net internal migration, people arriving from other parts of Australia minus those leaving, accounted for 5,195 of that increase. It's also a young region in one particular way: 18.5% of residents were aged 0 to 14, compared with 15.9% in Brisbane City and 17.4% nationally. For paediatric OTs, speech pathologists and physios, that's a lot of families, many of them new to the area and choosing a practice from what they find online.
For health services, Moreton Bay is joined to the northern half of Brisbane. Brisbane North PHN supports Brisbane's northern suburbs, Moreton Bay city, parts of Somerset and Norfolk Island, an area running from Indooroopilly to Redcliffe and north to Kilcoy, Bribie Island included. Metro North Health runs public services from north of the Brisbane River to north of Kilcoy, including Redcliffe and Caboolture hospitals and satellite hospitals at Caboolture, Kallangur and Bribie Island, and the two run the region's HealthPathways program together. The PHN also runs an Allied Health Collaborative, a network of local allied health practices with a bi-monthly newsletter, Allied Health Connect, which practices in the region can join. In practice the council boundary doesn't divide referral networks, so a Strathpine clinic may hear from GPs in Chermside as well as Caboolture.
Rail shapes part of the region. The line to the Redcliffe Peninsula opened in October 2016, branching from the existing line at Petrie and running through Kallangur, Murrumba Downs, Mango Hill, Mango Hill East and Rothwell to Kippa-Ring. A clinic within walking distance of one of those stations, or of stations on the line to Caboolture such as Strathpine, Narangba and Morayfield, can say so for clients who don't drive, including teenagers and older people who've stopped driving.
We're an Adelaide team and work with Moreton Bay practices by phone and email. We haven't built an allied health site yet. The projects below include a Brisbane client that works with children and an in-home care provider that takes referrals from other providers, two of the jobs a Moreton Bay clinic site has to do.
