Website Design for Aged Care and Home Care in Newcastle

Websites for home care, CHSP and residential aged care providers in Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock: what you deliver under each program, the towns your workers drive to, your published prices, and a simple way for care finders and families to reach you.

What a Hunter aged care website needs

Entry-level help makes up much of the work here. In the Hunter planning region, 24,093 people used the Commonwealth Home Support Programme during 2024–25, more than in any NSW region except South East Sydney, while 7,937 held a Home Care Package on 30 June 2025. A provider delivering both has to explain the difference clearly to the same family.

  • Lake Macquarie named as clearly as Newcastle

Lake Macquarie had 8,585 CHSP users in 2024–25, the third-highest count of any NSW council, and 2,871 Home Care Package holders at 30 June 2025. The City of Newcastle had 4,912 and 1,843. If your workers go to Belmont, Swansea, Warners Bay, Toronto or Morisset, list those suburbs under Lake Macquarie by name instead of folding them into a single Newcastle heading.

  • CHSP and Support at Home, each explained on its own

CHSP grant funding now runs to 30 June 2029, so a provider delivering both will be running them side by side for some years yet. Give each its own section or page: what it covers, who it suits, how someone gets started through My Aged Care, and which of your services sit under it. The department has said it will consult on CHSP's longer-term future, so program names belong in plain text that's easy to update.

  • Lower Hunter towns, with travel built into prices

Port Stephens had 1,212 package holders and 3,509 CHSP users, Maitland 899 and 2,924, Cessnock 617 and 1,885. Support at Home doesn't permit a separate travel fee, so time on the road between those towns has to be covered by the prices you set for each service. List the towns you do serve, such as Raymond Terrace, Medowie, East Maitland or Kurri Kurri, and say where your area ends.

  • Short-term help after a hospital stay

NSW Health's Out of Hospital Care program funds short packages of non-clinical help, such as personal care, housework, meals, transport and respite, for people going home from NSW public hospitals. Packages usually run for up to six weeks, and referrals come from hospital staff and local health district community teams, which around Newcastle means Hunter New England Local Health District. If your service can take people on when a package ends, a page saying so, with the council areas you cover and a direct phone number, makes the handover easier to arrange.

  • Aboriginal clients and verified specialisation

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can be eligible for government-funded aged care from 50, or from 45 if they're on a low income and homeless or at risk of homelessness. If My Aged Care shows your service as verified for care of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, use the same words on your site. If it doesn't, describe what you actually offer, such as Aboriginal workers or ties with local community organisations, without calling it a specialisation.

  • Star Ratings linked, not copied

Residential homes in Lake Macquarie held 2,207 people on 30 June 2025, and those in Newcastle 1,991. A home's Star Rating on My Aged Care is recalculated as new data arrives: the staffing, quality measures and residents' experience ratings each quarter, the compliance rating daily. A badge saved as an image goes out of date; a line of text linking to your listing doesn't.

Aged care across Greater Newcastle: who uses it and who helps people find you

Provider registration, the screening NSW aged care workers need (a police certificate or an NDIS Worker Check) and the state's advocacy and abuse-reporting bodies work the same here as in Sydney, and our Sydney aged care page sets them out. Support at Home pricing is covered on our main aged care page. This section sticks to the Hunter.

The Hunter planning region stretches from Scone and Muswellbrook down to Morisset and out to Anna Bay, but five councils account for most of its aged care use. Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock between them had 7,442 of the region's 7,937 Home Care Package holders at 30 June 2025 and 21,815 of its 24,093 CHSP users over 2024–25. Residential care follows the same pattern: 5,764 of the region's 6,153 residents lived in homes in those five council areas, Lake Macquarie's 2,207 the largest share.

People who struggle to get started have local help. The Hunter New England and Central Coast PHN lists Wesley Community Service as the care finder for Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Cessnock, Maitland, Dungog, Singleton, Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter, and Bungree Aboriginal Association for Lake Macquarie and Cessnock. Care finders work with older people who have no carer or support person to help them: they arrange the My Aged Care assessment, shortlist providers and go through service agreements. Services Australia also has Aged Care Specialist Officers who give face-to-face help, including at its Wallsend and Nelson Bay service centres.

That shapes who reads a Hunter provider's site. A care finder checking whether you cover Swansea or Cessnock and can take someone new this month. An adult child in Sydney or Brisbane arranging help for a parent in Maitland. An older person who hasn't been assessed yet and wants to know where to start, for whom a short list of first steps, with My Aged Care's number (1800 200 422) beside your own, does more than a long description of your values.

We're an Adelaide team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St and work with Hunter providers by phone and email. One of our clients is Phoenix Housekeeping, a family cleaning business in Lake Macquarie whose services include NDIS cleans; it isn't an aged care provider. Our aged care client, Golden Years Aged Care Support, is in Northern Adelaide. We'd rather you knew both before you call.

Home and care service sites we've built, one in Lake Macquarie

Phoenix Housekeeping works across Lake Macquarie, Cessnock and the Central Coast, and Golden Years Aged Care Support delivers in-home aged care in Northern Adelaide. Between them they show the two things a Hunter provider's site most often needs: towns named one by one, and services explained in plain words.

Questions Hunter aged care providers ask us

We deliver both CHSP and Support at Home. Do we need two websites?

No. One site with a page or clearly headed section for each program is easier for families and care finders to follow, and it keeps one phone number and one enquiry form. With CHSP funding extended to 30 June 2029 and the department planning to consult on its longer-term design, we keep program names and descriptions as ordinary text, so when the rules change you email us the new wording and the update is covered by hosting.

We charge differently in Port Stephens than around the lake. How should prices appear?

The same way they appear on My Aged Care. Support at Home providers list prices by outlet, each with its own service area, and travel can't be charged as a separate fee. If you have more than one outlet with different prices, the site can show a table for each area. How you set those prices is a question for the department's pricing guidance (opens in a new tab); we present the figures you give us.

Can we show our Star Rating on the website?

Yes. Show it as text with a link to your My Aged Care listing, so anyone can check the current figure, and tell us when it changes so the wording stays accurate. The ratings are recalculated as new data comes in, so a rating that was right in March may not be by June.

Can care finders send referrals through the site?

Yes. We build a short referral form asking for the person's suburb, the program they're approved for or waiting on, the help needed and how they'd like to be contacted, and it goes to whichever inbox you choose. If you already use an intake or booking system, we can link to it, or build booking into the site, quoted separately.

Do you come up to the Hunter to meet providers?

No, we work with Hunter providers by phone and email. You send your services, prices, towns and screening details, we build a draft you can show your board or managers, and you pay only once you approve it. Most sites are live within 5–10 days of us getting your words and photos; bigger sites (up to 8 pages) take 2–3 weeks. We reply within 24 hours.
