Website Design for Accountants in Rockhampton

Websites for tax agents, BAS agents and accounting practices in Rockhampton and across Capricornia, from Allenstown, Wandal and Norman Gardens to Gracemere, Mount Morgan, Yeppoon and Emu Park. Cattle families, carriers and stock agents, and the households and businesses in town can each find the work you do for them, and a simple way to make contact.

What a Rockhampton practice's website should cover

Rockhampton calls itself the Beef Capital of Australia, and the Central Queensland Livestock Exchange at Gracemere runs prime and store cattle sales every Wednesday. The ABS counted 5,723 businesses in the Rockhampton council area in June 2025: 739 in agriculture, forestry and fishing, and 465 in transport, postal and warehousing, about one in twelve, a higher share than in Mackay or Bundaberg. A practice site here speaks to people whose year turns on the season and the sale price.

  • A beef producers' page in their own language

Breeders, backgrounders and fatteners want an accountant who understands herd numbers, natural increase, store and prime sales, and a bad wet season. A page built around those words reads very differently from 'rural services'.

  • Livestock on hand at 30 June

The ATO lets producers value livestock at cost, market selling value or replacement value, and change the method from one year to the next. If you help clients choose, say so; it's one of the first questions a new grazier client brings.

  • Forced sales after drought, flood or fire

Producers who sell down because pasture has failed can elect to spread or defer the profit. A sentence on your producers page saying you handle these elections, with a link to the ATO, tells a family in a dry year that you've been through it before.

  • Carriers, agents and rural suppliers

Livestock carriers, stock and station agents, fencing contractors and produce stores all sit beside the cattle industry. Give them a section of their own, with the payroll, BAS and vehicle questions they bring.

  • Yeppoon and Gracemere named plainly

Clients on the Capricorn Coast live in a different council area and search by their own town. Say where your office is, whether you see clients in Yeppoon, and how far Gracemere or Mount Morgan clients will travel.

  • A notice space for the wet

When the Fitzroy floods or roads close, clients ring to ask whether you're open. A short notice near the top of the home page, which we change when you email us, answers that before the phones start.

Accounting in Rockhampton: cattle, councils and the Fitzroy

Rules shared with the rest of Queensland. Tax and BAS agents in Rockhampton register with the Tax Practitioners Board and deal with the Queensland Revenue Office, as Brisbane practices do; our Brisbane accountants page covers how to display your registration. Income averaging and farm management deposits are on our Moreton Bay page, and fencing, water facilities and fuel tax credits on our Toowoomba page. This section is about Rockhampton and its cattle country.

Where the beef trade meets. CQLX, the Central Queensland Livestock Exchange at Gracemere, holds prime and store cattle sales weekly on Wednesdays, and its stud sales fall mostly in September and October. Beef Australia, the week-long national beef exhibition held in Rockhampton, returns from 2 to 8 May 2027. Times like these, when producers are in town and talking about their year, are a good moment to have your site up to date: a page for producers, a short line on any event you're part of, and a clear way to book a meeting.

Valuing the herd. The ATO says livestock on hand can be valued at cost, market selling value or replacement value, that the method can change year by year and differ between classes of stock, and that each year's opening value must equal the previous year's closing value. Animals bred on the property can be valued at their actual cost or at a cost set by regulation. Small business entities can skip the year-end count when they reasonably estimate that the value of all their trading stock has changed by $5,000 or less. Your site doesn't need to explain any of this; a line on your producers page saying you work through livestock valuation with clients each June, linked to the ATO's valuing livestock page, does the job.

Dry years and floods. When pasture or fodder is destroyed by fire, drought or flood and the profit is used mainly to buy replacement stock or keep breeders, the ATO lets a producer elect to spread that profit over five years or defer it against the cost of replacement livestock. The ATO says the election should be backed by evidence such as weather reports, pasture records and photos, and that no government declaration is needed. The Fitzroy River's records run back to 1859, its highest recorded flood reached 10.11 metres in January 1918, and in early 2011 floodwater surrounded the western half of the city. If you guide producers through forced disposal elections, say so on your site.

Two councils, and working with us. Rockhampton Regional Council was formed in 2008 by merging four councils: the City of Rockhampton, the Fitzroy Shire around Gracemere, the Mount Morgan Shire and the Livingstone Shire. Livingstone, administered from Yeppoon and covering Emu Park and the Capricorn Coast, has been its own council again since 2014. Name the towns you serve, not the councils. We're an Adelaide team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St and build for Rockhampton practices by phone and email: you send your words and photos, we send a draft, and you pay once you approve it.

Two client sites that suit a regional practice

Neither is an accounting firm. One is a rural contractor's single page with a big gallery; the other covers a wide region with a page for each area it serves. The review below is from the accounting firm we built a website for.

Home page of the Tomi's Bobcat and Excavation website

Tomi's Bobcat and Excavation

Trades & construction · South Pambula & Bega Valley

An earthmoving business in the Bega Valley with three service sections, a 42-photo gallery that swipes on a phone, testimonials and a contact form with a thank-you page. A sole practitioner in Gracemere could launch on one page like this, with photos of the office and the people clients will deal with.

Home page of the Bright Building & Renovations website

Bright Building & Renovations

Trades & construction · Adelaide, Adelaide Hills & Fleurieu

A 30-page builder's site with service pages, seven service-area pages, planning guides, an FAQ and a seven-step quote form. For a Rockhampton practice, the area pages become Yeppoon, Gracemere and Mount Morgan, and the guides become short notes for producers at the end of June.

“Salem was fantastic to work with on our accounting firm’s website. From day one, he was professional, responsive…”

Questions Rockhampton practices ask us

How much should a producers page say about livestock tax rules?

Very little. Name the work, such as livestock valuation at 30 June, forced sale elections, BAS and succession, and link to the ATO for the rules. Clients want to know that you understand their business; the ATO's pages can carry the technical detail and stay current.

We have clients in Yeppoon. Should they get their own page?

If the Capricorn Coast is a steady part of your work, a short page for Yeppoon and Emu Park helps, because people there search by those names. Otherwise, list the towns on your contact page and say how you see coast clients.

Can we put a notice on the site when the river is up?

Yes. Email us the wording and we'll put it in the notice space on your home page, then take it down when it's no longer needed. It's a text change on an existing page, so the $30 monthly hosting covers it.

Can producers book a meeting online?

Yes. We can link the booking tool you already use from every page, or build a booking system into the site, which we quote separately. A form that asks whether the client wants to come in, call or meet by video also works well for people out of town.

Does it matter that you're in Adelaide, not Central Queensland?

Not for how the project runs. We're a South Australian web design team and work with businesses Australia-wide by phone and email; our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. You send your words and photos and we send a draft to review. We reply within 24 hours.

Ready for a website that speaks to cattle country?

Tell us who you look after, from breeders and carriers to families and shops in town, and which towns you cover. We'll send a fixed quote, build the draft, and you pay once you've approved it.
