Website Design for Accountants in Toowoomba

Websites for tax agents, BAS agents and accounting practices in Toowoomba and across the Darling Downs, from Highfields and Oakey to Pittsworth, Millmerran and Cecil Plains. Grain growers and graziers, landholders dealing with gas companies and businesses in town can each find the work you do for them, and how to deal with you without a long drive.

What a Toowoomba practice's website should cover

Farming is the largest business group in the Toowoomba council area. The ABS counted 3,581 agriculture, forestry and fishing businesses there in June 2025, about one in five of the 17,994 in total and well ahead of construction's 2,858. Further west the share climbs: 2,423 of the Western Downs' 5,215 businesses are in the same group. A practice site here has to talk to farm families as clearly as to shops and trades in town.

  • A farm page written in farm terms

Growers and graziers want to see that you understand years that swing from drought to a big harvest, machinery and land purchases, family partnerships and trusts, and handing the farm to the next generation. A page that uses those words, instead of 'business services', tells a family on the Downs they won't have to explain the basics.

  • Dams, fences and silos, by name

The ATO has special rules for water facilities such as dams, bores, tanks and windmills, for fencing, and for fodder storage such as silos, hay sheds and grain sheds. One line saying you work through these claims, with a link to the ATO, shows a farmer you've done it before.

  • Fuel tax credits on the activity statement

Diesel used in tractors, headers and pumps is fuel used in machinery and equipment, which the ATO says can attract fuel tax credits; fuel for light vehicles on public roads can't. If you prepare farm BAS, say that you claim the credits and keep up with the rates, which the ATO changes regularly.

  • Landholders and gas company agreements

A resource company generally needs an agreement with the landholder, such as a conduct and compensation agreement, before advanced activities on private land. If you help landholders through that, say so, and say how you bill: Queensland law makes the company liable for the accounting costs a landholder necessarily and reasonably incurs in negotiating, whether or not an agreement is reached.

  • Towns across the Downs, and how to reach you

Clients may come from Dalby, Warwick, Goondiwindi or Gatton as well as Highfields and Oakey. Name the towns you serve, say whether you visit or hold appointment days there, and make phone, video and portal options as easy to find as your street address.

  • Health and other city businesses

Health care and social assistance was the fastest-growing industry group in the council area between 2021 and 2025, rising from 1,057 businesses to 1,507. If doctors, allied health clinics or support workers are on your books, give them their own section beside the farm page.

Accounting on the Darling Downs: farms, gas fields and a wide client area

Rules shared with the rest of Queensland. Registration with the Tax Practitioners Board, and the payroll tax, land tax and transfer duty run by the Queensland Revenue Office, work the same here as in the capital; our Brisbane accountants page covers how to display your registration. Income averaging for primary producers and the farm management deposits scheme are summarised on our Moreton Bay page. This section deals with Toowoomba and the Downs.

Five councils where farming counts. In the ABS business counts for June 2025, agriculture, forestry and fishing made up about 20% of businesses in the Toowoomba council area (3,581), 46% in the Western Downs (2,423), 43% in Goondiwindi (881), 36% in the Southern Downs (1,613) and 23% in the Lockyer Valley (854). That's more than 9,300 farm-sector businesses across the five, against 1,334 in the whole City of Brisbane. Toowoomba's own council, formed in 2008 when the city merged with seven shires, covers 12,957 km² and reaches from Crows Nest and Goombungee to Millmerran and Cecil Plains. A practice that wants clients from Dalby, Warwick or Gatton should name those towns and explain how someone a long drive away works with it.

Assets with their own rules. The ATO sets special rules for primary producers' water facilities (dams, tanks, bores, irrigation channels, pumps, water towers and windmills), for fencing, and for fodder storage assets such as silos, hay sheds, grain storage sheds and above-ground bunkers, and says a primary producer can generally claim an immediate deduction for them, even as a lessee of the land. On fuel, the ATO lists agriculture among the business activities that can attract fuel tax credits, excludes light vehicles of 4.5 tonnes GVM or less on public roads, and warns that rates change regularly. None of that needs explaining on your site: a farm page that names the work, with a link to the ATO's guidance for primary producers, does the job.

Gas fields to the west. Western Downs Regional Council calls its area the Energy Capital of Queensland, with coal mining, coal seam gas and renewable energy facilities alongside the farms. Business Queensland says a resource company generally needs a legally binding agreement with the landholder, such as a conduct and compensation agreement, before it enters private land for advanced activities. Section 91 of the Mineral and Energy Resources (Common Provisions) Act 2014 makes the company liable for the negotiation and preparation costs a landholder necessarily and reasonably incurs, and the Act defines those to include accounting, legal, valuation and agronomist costs. Since 19 April 2019 that has applied whether or not an agreement is reached. If you advise landholders on these agreements, a short section saying so, and explaining how your fees are handled, gives a grazier near Chinchilla or Miles a reason to call.

Working with us. We're an Adelaide team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St and work with Toowoomba practices by phone and email. You send your services, registration details and photos of your people and office; we build a draft and send you the link, which you can read whenever the phones are quiet. You pay once you approve it, and if you don't go ahead you owe nothing.

Sites that cover a wide area clearly

Neither is an accounting firm. One shows how to cover a big region district by district; the other takes requests from people who can't simply drop in. The review below is from a business owner whose two websites we rebuilt, and we've also built a website for an accounting firm.

Home page of the SA Painting Professionals website

SA Painting Professionals

Trades & construction · Adelaide & all of SA

An Adelaide painting company with 12 service pages, region pages across South Australia and a suburb and postcode search. A practice serving the Downs can do the same with a short page for each district it covers, from the Lockyer Valley to Goondiwindi, so a client in Dalby or Warwick finds a page that names their town.

Home page of the Cape Fishing Charters website

Cape Fishing Charters

Community, creative & tourism · Cape Jervis

A one-page site for fishing charters out of Cape Jervis, with a booking request form, an FAQ, reviews and an embedded map. For a practice, the request form becomes an appointment request that asks whether the client will come in, call or meet by video, and the map shows where to park.

“Rebuilt two websites for our businesses and saved us a fortune on hosting etc. Nothing is ever a problem, will email back on a Saturday night if need be.”

Questions Toowoomba accountants ask us

Should farm clients have a page of their own?

Usually, if they're a real share of your work. Write it in their terms: seasons, machinery, water and fencing, family partnerships and succession. Town clients then get pages that aren't crowded with farm detail, and each group finds what it needs quickly.

Can we say we help landholders with gas company agreements?

Yes, if it's work you do. Describe it plainly and link to Business Queensland's land access pages for the process rather than summarising the law yourself. A sentence on how your fees for this work are handled is often what a landholder wants to know first.

We see clients from Dalby to Warwick. How should the site show that?

List the towns and districts on the contact page, say whether you hold appointment days in any of them, and let the enquiry form ask where the client lives. If one district brings in a lot of work, it can have its own short page; a new page is quoted before we add it.

Can farm clients send their records through the website?

We'd keep tax documents out of website forms. A clearly labelled button to the portal you already use, in the header and on the contact page, is the safer route, and the site can explain how to post or drop off a box of paperwork for clients who prefer that.

You're in Adelaide. How does a Toowoomba project work?

By phone and email. We're an Adelaide (South Australia) web design team working with businesses Australia-wide, and our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. We talk through your client groups, you send your words and photos, and we send a draft to review. You pay once you approve it.

Ready for a website that speaks to the Downs?

Tell us who you look after, from growers and graziers to landholders and businesses in town, and which districts you cover. We'll send a fixed quote, build the draft, and you pay once you've approved it.
