Web Design for Fremantle Businesses

Hand-coded websites at fixed prices for businesses in Fremantle and the suburbs around it, from the West End and South Terrace to North Fremantle, Hilton, Beaconsfield and White Gum Valley. Our Adelaide team builds each site with you by phone and email.

What a Fremantle website has to handle

On a single Saturday a Fremantle business might serve a cruise passenger walking up from Victoria Quay, a student from Notre Dame and a regular from Hilton, then answer an email from a freight company on the wharf. These are the jobs a site here usually has to do, and how our offer handles each.

  • Prices that don't move

One page costs $399. Up to three pages is $899 and up to eight is $1,499. We aren't registered for GST, so none is added, and there's no deposit: you see the full draft and pay only once you've approved it. A stallholder at the Markets pays the same as a practice in the West End.

  • Menus, hours and table bookings first

For a café on the Cappuccino Strip or a restaurant at the Fishing Boat Harbour, the menu, opening hours and a way to book matter more than anything else on the page. We can link OpenTable or the booking tool you already use, or build bookings and payments into the site, quoted for your job.

  • Directions for people arriving on foot

Many of your customers arrive by train, ferry or ship rather than by car. A short note naming the nearest landmark, your entrance and where to park saves a lost visitor a phone call, and once you're on hosting, changing those notes is a text edit we make at no extra charge.

  • Online stores for makers and boutiques

$799 buys a store with up to 25 products, one payment gateway and basic order management; $1,999 adds unlimited products, multiple payment options, customer accounts and advanced shipping. A visitor who bought a print or a jar of something at the weekend can order again from home, with no platform subscription on top of hosting.

  • Developer work for port and maritime suppliers

Customs brokers, marine engineers, freight forwarders and labour hire firms sell to other businesses, and those buyers want detail before they pick up the phone. The team that designs your site also codes its working parts: multi-step enquiry forms, file uploads for drawings or documents, and a page for each service you offer.

  • A redesign at the price of a new site

If your site still shows an old address, last year's menu or detour notes from the bridge closure, we rebuild it at the same prices as a new one. The old site stays live while we work, your domain stays in your name, and we switch over only once you've approved the new version.

  • Custom design for creative businesses

Galleries, studios, musicians and designers need a site that looks like their own work rather than a theme half the street already uses. We hand-code each layout and can add playable audio, swipeable galleries and portfolio pages, as we did with four demo reels for a voiceover artist in New South Wales.

Fremantle: port city, heritage centre and university town

Fremantle sits at the mouth of the Swan River, 19 km south-west of the Perth CBD. The City of Fremantle is compact, at 19 square kilometres and 31,930 residents at the 2021 census, and takes in Fremantle itself plus Beaconsfield, Hilton, North Fremantle, O'Connor, Samson, South Fremantle and White Gum Valley. East Fremantle has its own town council, and the Cities of Cockburn and Melville share the City's borders, so a business here often serves customers from three or four council areas. The Fremantle line ends at Fremantle station, and passenger ferries leave the port for Rottnest Island. Our Perth web design page covers the metro area as a whole; this page is about Fremantle.

The port shapes the economy. More than 99 per cent of Western Australia's container trade comes through Fremantle, according to the WA Government's Westport program, and the Inner Harbour also handles vehicle imports and livestock exports. Fremantle Ports puts the port's trade at $45.2 billion a year, supporting about 6,000 direct and indirect jobs. That will shift over time, because Westport plans to move container trade to new port facilities in the Kwinana Outer Harbour. Victoria Quay also holds the Fremantle Passenger Terminal. Fremantle Ports says getting a ship of more than 2,000 passengers and their luggage ashore can take four to five hours, and that the walk to the train station will probably take about 20 minutes. Logistics and marine firms need sites that answer a buyer's technical questions, while a cruise day can send a stream of people on foot past the cafés and shops near the quay, many of them checking their phones as they go.

Visitors come for the history and the food. Fremantle Prison, used as a prison until 1991, was World Heritage listed in 2010 as one of the Australian Convict Sites and is Western Australia's only World Heritage-listed building. The Round House, finished in 1831, is the state's oldest colonial building. Fremantle Markets has traded at 74 South Terrace since 1897 and now has more than 170 traders, open Friday to Sunday and on public holiday Mondays. Add the outdoor tables of the Cappuccino Strip, the restaurants and fish and chip shops of the Fishing Boat Harbour and the WA Maritime Museum on Victoria Quay. The University of Notre Dame Australia occupies and has restored many West End buildings, which has made Fremantle a university town as well.

This year has tested how well businesses keep customers informed. The old Fremantle Traffic Bridge closed to all traffic on 1 February 2026, sending drivers between Fremantle and North Fremantle around via Stirling Highway, and Main Roads set Sunday 1 November 2026 as the opening day for its replacement, Walyalup Bridge, funded with $215 million each from the Australian and WA Governments. The City offered marketing grants to small retail, hospitality and tourism businesses through the closure. For businesses on both sides of the river, it showed that a website's directions and parking notes need to change when the roads do, and promptly.

We're an Adelaide team and work with Fremantle businesses by phone and email, sending a draft link you can check between customers. We haven't built a site for a WA client yet, so the examples below are from New South Wales and South Australia. For the coast further south, see our Rockingham page, and for the South West, our Bunbury page.

Client sites that suit Fremantle's mix

None of these clients is in Fremantle or anywhere in WA. We picked them for what Fremantle businesses often need: bookings for a trip on the water, a creative portfolio that plays samples, and a practice whose clients book sessions online.

Home page of the Cape Fishing Charters website

Cape Fishing Charters

Community, creative & tourism · Cape Jervis

A South Australian charter operator taking anglers out from Cape Jervis every day of the week. Its one-page site gathers booking requests and gift voucher requests, with photos of the catch, customer reviews, an FAQ and a map: the essentials for a charter or boat-tour business leaving from Fremantle.

Home page of the Fiona Dixon Voiceover Artist website

Fiona Dixon Voiceover Artist

Community, creative & tourism · NSW

An Australian voiceover artist recording from a home studio in NSW. Her single-page site plays four demo reels and has about and studio sections, plus a contact form with project-type options. Fremantle musicians, illustrators and makers could use the same layout for samples and commissions.

Home page of the Resolve Forward website

Resolve Forward

Professional services · Sydney

A Sydney family dispute resolution practice. Six service pages, priced packages that lead straight to online booking, and a five-step intake form make a structure that suits a Fremantle lawyer, counsellor or allied health practice whose clients book a first session online.

“He listened to my feedback and made no hesitations to revise and adjust my website until we were completely happy with it.”

Questions from Fremantle businesses

What does a website cost in Fremantle?

Exactly what it costs in Adelaide or Brisbane: $399 for one page, $899 for up to three, $1,499 for up to eight, and $799 or $1,999 for an online store. No GST is added and there's no deposit. Hosting after launch is $30 a month, and you can cancel anytime.

Can you meet us in Fremantle?

No. We're based at Hutt Street in Adelaide, and all our work outside Adelaide runs by phone and email. Fremantle keeps Perth time, 1.5 hours behind Adelaide, or 2.5 hours during South Australian daylight saving. We're open 7am to 8pm Adelaide time, seven days, and we reply within 24 hours.

Can our restaurant take bookings through the website?

Yes. We can link OpenTable or the booking service you already use, or build a booking and payment system into the site, priced per job in your quote. Functions and large groups often suit an enquiry form instead, one that asks for the date, numbers and dietary needs.

Can we sell online as well as from our shop?

Yes. The $799 store suits a shop with a focused range of up to 25 products; the $1,999 store suits a bigger catalogue that needs customer accounts and advanced shipping. You supply product photos and descriptions and we set them out. See ecommerce website design for what each includes.

Do you also build for businesses in East Fremantle, Cockburn or Melville?

Yes. Council boundaries make no difference to how we work or what we charge. If you trade from Fremantle but draw customers from Bicton, Palmyra, Spearwood or Coogee, we can list those suburbs on your site or give each area its own page, using the details you send.

Can you rebuild the site we already have?

Yes, at new-site prices. We'll need your current site's address and access to your domain; if a previous web company registered it in their own name, ask them to transfer it to you first. Most sites are live within 5–10 days of us getting your words and photos; bigger sites (up to 8 pages) take 2–3 weeks.
