Web Design for Brisbane's Northside

Hand-coded websites for businesses north of the river, from Windsor and Nundah up to Aspley, Sandgate and Bald Hills. Our Adelaide team builds them by phone and email, at fixed prices, and you see the finished draft before you pay anything.

What a northside business website should do

Customers say they live on the northside, but they search with their suburb: a dentist in Aspley, a mechanic in Geebung, a café near Nundah station. A northside site works when it names the places you serve and makes the next step obvious.

  • Suburbs grouped the way locals know them

Rather than one long list, we group your suburbs around the centres people use: Chermside, Aspley and Stafford; Nundah, Clayfield and Hamilton; Sandgate, Brighton and Deagon; Mitchelton, Everton Park and Ferny Grove. A reader finds their own pocket in a few seconds.

  • A clear line on Moreton Bay

Plenty of northside businesses also take work in Strathpine, Petrie or North Lakes. If you do, say so near the top; if you stop at the Pine River, say that too, and you'll get fewer calls you have to turn down.

  • Fixed, published prices

One page is $399 and up to 3 pages is $899. A site of up to 8 pages is $1,499. There's no GST to add, and we don't take a deposit. You pay once you've approved the draft.

  • Hand-coded rather than built on a theme

We write each site in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, so there are no plugins to update and no builder fees. The layout follows your business: a timetable for a studio, a menu and hours for a café, licence details and a quote form for a trade.

  • Redesigns at new-site prices

A tired or slow site gets rebuilt for the same price as a new one. Your domain stays put, your old page addresses are redirected to the new ones, and the current site keeps running until you approve the replacement.

  • Bookings and online sales

We build online booking and payments into sites, quoted per job, or link a system you already use such as HotDoc, Cliniko or Fresha. Online stores are $799 for up to 25 products or $1,999 for unlimited products with customer accounts and advanced shipping.

Working on Brisbane's northside

Brisbane has no formal regions. Residents group suburbs informally by the river and the CBD, and the northern suburbs are simply those north of the Brisbane River: Albion and Windsor near the city, out through Kedron, Chermside and Aspley to Bracken Ridge and Bald Hills, and across to Nudgee Beach, Sandgate and Shorncliffe on the bay. The informal western suburbs group takes in some suburbs north of the river too, so your site should name the suburbs you cover rather than rely on a label people use differently.

Chermside sits about 10 kilometres north of the CBD by road. Westfield Chermside opened there in 1957 as the Chermside Drive-In Shopping Centre and now holds hundreds of stores, with the Chermside bus station alongside. The Prince Charles Hospital is in the same suburb; it's a major teaching and referral hospital and the hub for heart and lung transplants. Closer to the city, the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital at Herston is affiliated with the University of Queensland and QUT. Clinics, pharmacies and allied health practices near either hospital are looked up by patients, families and staff, so practitioners' names, opening hours, parking and a booking link do most of the work on those sites.

Further east, the northside takes in Brisbane Airport, a suburb in its own right, and part of Australia TradeCoast, the economic development area branded in 1999 to promote land around the airport and the Port of Brisbane. It includes TradeCoast Central, an office park and industrial estate on the old Eagle Farm airport site. Businesses there often sell to other businesses, so their sites need to show capability: the work you do, who you've done it for, your equipment and certifications, and a form that captures the job details first time.

To the north, the Bruce Highway begins at Bald Hills, which Gympie Road and the Gateway Motorway also cross, and the Pine River forms that suburb's northern border. Beyond Brisbane's northern edge is the City of Moreton Bay, the third most populous council area in Australia, which takes in Strathpine, North Lakes, Caboolture and Redcliffe. Customers don't care where the council boundary falls, only whether you'll come to them, so a site for a business working both sides should say which Moreton Bay suburbs it covers.

We're an Adelaide team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St, and we work with northside businesses by phone and email; we don't have staff in Brisbane or hold meetings there. For the city as a whole, including how our hours line up with Queensland time, see web design in Brisbane. Trades will find QBCC licence details on our pages for Brisbane tradies and Moreton Bay tradies.

Queensland work, and a booking site from Sydney

Neither of the Queensland clients here is on the northside: one is a dance school on Brisbane's Bayside and the other a Queensland plumber. The third site shows the kind of booking setup a northside clinic or practice might want.

Northside web design questions

Are you based on Brisbane's northside?

No. We're an Adelaide (South Australia) web design team, and northside businesses work with us by phone and email. You check each draft on your phone or computer, and we reply within 24 hours. Our current clients are in South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

Should our website say northside or list suburbs?

Both. The word northside tells a reader they're in the right place, and the suburb names match how people actually search. We group the suburbs by area so the list stays readable, and on a larger site the main areas can each have a page.

We also work in Moreton Bay. Can one site cover both?

Yes. Name the Moreton Bay suburbs you cover, such as Strathpine, Petrie or North Lakes, alongside your northside ones. On the 8-page site, Brisbane's northside and Moreton Bay can each have their own page.

How much does a website cost for a northside business?

$399 for one page, $899 for up to 3 pages or $1,499 for up to 8 pages, and a redesign of an existing site costs the same. No GST is added. Online stores are $799 or $1,999. After launch, hosting is $30 a month with no contract.

Can patients or customers book online?

Yes. We build booking and payment systems into websites and quote them per job, depending on how your appointments and payments need to work. If you already use HotDoc, Cliniko, Fresha or Calendly, we can link it from every page instead. See booking website design.
