Painters here work under the same Queensland rules as Brisbane: a QBCC licence for painting work valued at more than $3,300, and your licensed name, licence number and a statement that you're licensed under the QBCC Act on your website. Our Brisbane painters page covers those rules, along with what the QBCC says about painting defects. This section sticks to what's particular to Moreton Bay.
The council began in March 2008, when the City of Redcliffe and the Shires of Pine Rivers and Caboolture were merged, and it was renamed the City of Moreton Bay in July 2023. At 30 June 2025 it had 532,445 residents on the state statistician's preliminary figures, the third-largest local government area in Australia by population, after Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and it added 10,951 people over the year. A growing population means new homes as well as older ones due for a repaint, and a painter's site can speak to both.
Bodies corporate are far less common here than in the two bigger cities. Titles Queensland's count of community titles schemes by council area, last updated in February 2022, put 2,959 schemes in Moreton Bay, against 13,490 on the Gold Coast and 13,136 in Brisbane. A Moreton Bay painting site can lead with houses and add a body corporate page only if that's work you're after.
One Moreton Bay suburb featured in a statewide asbestos warning. In March 2018 Queensland's health minister warned homeowners against water blasting asbestos roofs after homeowners in Burpengary, Salisbury and Toowoomba were reported for potentially releasing asbestos fibres into neighbouring properties. The statement says it is illegal to use a high pressure water blaster on asbestos cement roofs, fences, walls and other asbestos-containing materials, and that homeowners can be fined up to $10,000 and are liable for clean-up costs. The housing minister added that most Queensland neighbourhoods have pre-1990 homes, so there's a good chance of asbestos somewhere in the building. A 2024 safety alert from Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and the Electrical Safety Office cites the WHS Regulation, which prohibits using high-pressure water on asbestos at a workplace, and the Public Health Regulation 2018, which prohibits using it to clean asbestos-containing materials outside workplaces. If roof painting or fence restoration is part of your work, the site should say how you handle it; we describe your process and link to the government's asbestos information rather than give safety advice.
We're an Adelaide team at Hutt St and work with Moreton Bay businesses by phone and email. You send photos, your licence details and the suburbs you cover; we build a draft and send you the link, and you pay only once you approve it.
