Website Design for Childcare Centres

Websites for long day care centres, early learning centres and kindergartens that let a family see the rooms, understand the fees once the Child Care Subsidy comes off, and book a tour without ringing during drop-off.

What a childcare centre website needs to show

Choosing care is one of the bigger decisions a young family makes, and parents read a centre's website closely before they visit. They want to see the room their child would be in, what a day costs after the subsidy, the centre's quality rating, and an easy way to book a tour or join the waitlist.

  • Tour bookings without phone tag

A Book a Tour button on every page, opening your booking tool or a short form that asks for the child's age, the days needed and a preferred start date. The Department of Education's advertising guidance confirms centres can promote themselves to new families and offer free site visits, so the invitation can sit right at the top. If you'd like tours booked straight into a calendar on your own site, we can build that; it's quoted per job.

  • A page for each room

Nursery, toddlers, pre-kindy and kindergarten each get the age range, the shape of a typical day, what the centre provides (meals or nappies, if you supply them), what to pack and photos of the space. The parents of a nine-month-old and the parents of a four-year-old are asking different questions, and a room page answers each of them.

  • Fees and the Child Care Subsidy in plain words

Show the daily or session fee before the subsidy, then explain that the Child Care Subsidy is paid to the centre and reduces the family's bill, leaving a gap fee. Since 5 January 2026, eligible families can get at least 72 hours of subsidised care a fortnight, but that doesn't secure a place, so the site shouldn't suggest it does. Families can also compare fees, vacancies and ratings on Starting Blocks, where the Department publishes the fees providers report to it, so the figures on your site should match.

  • Your NQS rating, current and accurate

Your National Quality Standard rating certificate has to be displayed at the centre, and rating logos also appear online. Regulation 72 of the National Regulations says a provider must not falsely represent its overall rating or a quality area rating, and South Australia's Education Standards Board reminds providers to update the rating on digital marketing, so the site shows the rating you hold now and changes when you're reassessed.

  • Photos of children, with authorisation

Since 1 September 2025, services must have policies on taking, using and storing images of children, including how they obtain parents' authorisation. Website photos follow that same policy: use images families have agreed to, or show rooms, gardens, artwork and activities without faces. We work with the photos you send and don't take them ourselves.

  • Kinder programs and state funding

If you run a funded kindergarten program, families want to know early. In Victoria, Free Kinder applies at participating long day care services; in Queensland, Free Kindy funds 15 hours a week for 40 weeks of an approved program, at long day care services that have opted in. A short section on how it combines with the subsidy, linking to your state's official page for eligibility, answers the question before the tour.

  • Enrolment steps, and promotions within the rules

Set out the path from tour to waitlist to enrolment, including that a family confirms the enrolment in their Centrelink online account before the subsidy is paid. Keep offers within the Department of Education's rules: discounted or free care can be advertised if it's reported correctly, but cash, vouchers, gift cards and devices offered to win enrolments are banned.

Sites we've built for families with children

None of our clients runs a childcare centre, so we won't pretend otherwise. The nearest example is a dance school on Brisbane's Bayside, where parents of school-age children browse programs, check the timetable and enrol online, much the same journey a family takes from a centre's room pages to booking a tour.

Queensland Dance & Performing Arts

Community, creative & tourism · Thorneside, Brisbane's Bayside

Ballet, contemporary and circus classes for children aged 6 and up, alongside adult ballet and a full-time diploma, in Thorneside. The 12-page site gives every program its own page, sets out the week's classes in a timetable, answers families' common questions in an FAQ and takes enrolments through an online form.

“My website is exactly how I wanted. I highly recommend Salem for any business wanting a professional website without the bull.”

Questions childcare centres ask us

Can families book a tour online?

Yes. Every page can carry a button that opens the booking tool you already use, or a short form that sends you the child's age and the days the family needs. If you'd like tour bookings or waitlist requests handled on your own site instead, we build booking systems as well; they're quoted per job, so mention it when you ask for a quote.

Should we publish our fees?

We suggest it. Families can already see the fees providers report on Starting Blocks (opens in a new tab), so leaving them off your site sends parents elsewhere to find them. Show the fee before the subsidy, say what it includes and point families to the Starting Blocks subsidy calculator (opens in a new tab) to work out their own gap. Updating fees each year is a text change covered by the $30 monthly hosting.

Can we use photos of the children?

Only in line with your images policy and the authorisation parents have given, which the National Regulations have required services to address since 1 September 2025. Photos of rooms, outdoor areas and artwork, or children photographed from behind, work well too. We place the photos you've cleared, cropped and sized to load quickly.

How should our NQS rating appear?

As the overall rating you currently hold, ideally with a link to your Starting Blocks listing so families can check it and compare services. Because a provider must not falsely represent its rating, tell us as soon as a reassessment changes it and we'll update the site; that's a text change our hosting covers.

Which package suits a childcare centre?

A centre with three or more rooms and a kinder program usually needs the 8-page site at $1,499 so each room has its own page. That size takes 2–3 weeks once we have your words and photos. A smaller centre fits the 3-page site at $899. A family day care educator can start on one page for $399.

Do you work with centres outside Adelaide?

Yes. We're an Adelaide-based team working with businesses Australia-wide by phone and email, and our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. Kinder funding and regulators differ between states, so tell us where your centre is and send the details of your state's program for that section.

Ready to start your centre's website?

Send us your rooms, fees, current rating and how families book tours now. We'll quote, build a draft you can review with your team, and you pay once it's approved.

We reply within 24 hours. Prefer email? info@webcraftstudio.com.au
