Website Design for Builders in Busselton

Websites for builders working from Busselton and Vasse out to Dunsborough and Yallingup: your WA registration on every page, custom, estate and holiday homes captioned by town, and plain notes on the steps owners here ask about, from estate design approval to floor levels near Geographe Bay.

What a Busselton builder's website should show

Builders here tend to work for two kinds of client: families settling in the newer estates around Vasse and Yalyalup, and owners building a coastal or holiday home they'll use for part of the year. Both want to see finished work and understand the steps, but a holiday-home owner may be reading your site from Perth or further away, and will rely on it more.

  • Registration, and who runs your sites

Your contractor registration and the name it's held under, in the footer of every page. Building and Energy says registered building contractors must have a nominated supervisor, and an owner building from a distance wants to know who that is. Naming them, with a line on how often they're on site, answers the question before it's asked.

  • Estate design approval as a step in your timeline

Estates such as Vasse have their own building guidelines and approve plans before they go to the City. If your build process page lists the steps, put the estate approval in its place, between final drawings and the permit application, and name the estates you've built in so buyers there know you've done it.

  • Floor levels near the bay, shown on real jobs

Lots close to Geographe Bay and around Port Geographe can come with a minimum habitable floor level. If you've built to one, a caption such as "floor set at the level the local development plan requires, with a ramped path to the street" shows the experience without offering anyone advice about their own lot.

  • Progress updates for owners who live elsewhere

Say how you keep an owner in Perth or interstate up to date: photos at each stage, a weekly email, an agreed contact for decisions. Add a field to the quote form asking where the owner lives and when they'll next be down, so you can plan the first meeting around their visit.

  • Custom homes captioned by town and setting

"Coastal home, Eagle Bay" or "Family home on a bush block, Yallingup" tells a reader more than a photo alone. Where a house was built to a bushfire attack level, include the rating; owners with mapped lots look for builders who've worked to one.

  • Awards listed with program, category and year

HIA's 2026 Regional Western Australian Housing Awards were presented in Busselton, with categories ranging from custom homes up to $500,000 to renovations and GreenSmart sustainable homes. If a home of yours was a finalist or winner in an HIA or Master Builders program, put the program, category and year beside its photos.

Busselton: the bay, the estates and a new scheme on the way

Same WA rules, local reminders. Builders in the City of Busselton are registered and insured under the same state rules as Perth builders; our Perth builders page lists them with sources. The regulator has acted over a Busselton job before. In 2021 the nominated supervisor on a house built in Busselton in 2016 accepted a $7,500 fine at the State Administrative Tribunal after inspectors found roof sheeting missing some tie-downs, a structural column installed the wrong way round and two slab reinforcement bars left out. Building and Energy said registered building contractors are required by law to have a nominated supervisor, and that supervisors should carry out their duties diligently.

A low coast. The City's June 2026 advocacy sheet on coastal protection says the Department of Transport has recognised Busselton as a high-risk location for coastal inundation. The final version of the City's Coastal Hazard Risk Management and Adaptation Plan, dated October 2022, studied the sandy coast from Wonnerup to Dunsborough and the settlements at Yallingup, Eagle Bay, Smiths Beach and Bunker Bay, and the City began preparing a Coastal Adaptation Strategy from it. Some sites already have a floor level set: a local development plan for a mixed-use lot on Spinnaker Boulevard, Port Geographe, requires every habitable floor to reach at least 3.1 m AHD to meet the inundation clearance in State Planning Policy 2.6. The level for a particular lot is for the City to confirm.

Growth, and estate rules on top of the City's. The City's estimated population was 45,003 in 2024, after a decade of growth averaging 2.3 per cent a year, against 1.6 per cent across the South West. Between the 2016 and 2021 censuses, Dunsborough added the most residents, 1,108, and Kealy grew fastest. Buyers in the newer estates also work under the developer's rules. Vasse's building guidelines, in their sixth edition (February 2026), say plans must be approved by the estate before they go to the City, and compliant plans come back within 14 days. They require garages that open onto a residential street to be fully enclosed and, on most lots, to fit two cars side by side, set traditional roof pitches between 24.5 and 45 degrees, cap the finished floor at 300 mm above the lot's mean site level, and rule out second-hand, relocated or transportable homes unless the estate agrees. Owners are also responsible for their builder keeping rubbish within the lot and for repairing any damage the builder does to estate roads, kerbs and fencing.

A new planning scheme out for comment. Local Planning Scheme No. 21 is the City's scheme in force. A draft Scheme No. 22, which Council approved for advertising in May 2025, is open for public comment from 26 October 2026 to 31 January 2027; after that, Council considers changes and the Minister for Planning decides on final approval. The City says some zone names, land use definitions and zoning will change, so if your site or brochures quote scheme clauses, keep them to a link so one edit keeps them right. Clearing is the other thing to handle carefully. The western ringtail possum is listed as critically endangered under state and federal law, is found mainly around Busselton and relies on the coastal peppermint trees here, so a builder's site should point owners to the City and the state's clearing permit rules rather than answer that question itself.

Working with us. We're an Adelaide team and work with South West builders by phone and email. We haven't yet built for a WA builder; our builder client is in South Australia. Busselton keeps Perth time, so we're 1.5 hours ahead of you, or 2.5 hours during South Australian daylight saving.

A builder's site and a trade site with a project gallery

Neither client is in WA. Bright Building shows the pages and quote form a building company needs; M.J. Debney's single page shows how a swipeable project gallery and testimonials can carry a smaller operator's site, the kind a Busselton custom builder starting out might use.

Questions Busselton builders ask us

Should our website mention floor levels near Geographe Bay?

Through your projects, yes. If you've built to a minimum floor level set by a local development plan, say so in the caption and show how the entry and garden were handled. Don't quote a level for anyone else's lot; that comes from the City and the plan that applies to the land.

We build in Vasse and other estates. How should the site show the estate approval step?

As one line in your process: drawings, estate design approval, then the City's permit. Vasse's guidelines say compliant plans come back within 14 days, which is worth knowing when you give an owner a rough timeline. Name each estate you've built in on its project captions.

Most of our clients live in Perth. What should the site do for them?

Explain how you'll keep them informed, show the supervisor's name, and let them send plans and photos of the lot through the quote form. If you'd like them to book a site meeting for the weekend they're down, we can build a booking system into the site, quoted with the rest of the job.

Is it worth listing award entries on our site?

If you have them, yes, with the program, category and year beside the home's photos. HIA's 2026 Regional Western Australian Housing Awards were presented in Busselton in September 2026. Show HIA or Master Builders membership logos only if you're a current member.

How does an Adelaide team build a website for a Busselton builder?

By phone and email. You send your registration details, the homes you build, the towns you cover and project photos; we send a draft link to check on your phone and change it until you're happy. One page is $399; up to 3 pages is $899 and up to 8 pages is $1,499. No GST is added and you pay once you approve the draft.
