Website Design for Plumbers in Mandurah

For Mandurah and Peel plumbers and gas fitters: a site that puts your PL number where people check it, says plainly whether you'll take the 9pm burst-pipe call, and explains the septic and sewer jobs that turn up when a Mandurah house changes hands.

What a Mandurah plumber's site should answer

People ringing a plumber in Mandurah tend to arrive with one of a few problems: water where it shouldn't be, a settlement agent asking about the old septic tank, a block that has never been on sewer, or a gas appliance to swap. Each of them is scanning for one line that says you do their job, in their suburb.

  • A call button that never scrolls away

On a phone, your number sits at the top of every screen and follows the reader down the page. Next to it, a short line says whether you answer after hours and how far you'll travel at night, so someone in Dawesville with a split flexi hose knows before dialling whether you'll come.

  • Your PL number beside the licensee's name

WA wants the plumbing contractor's licence number in your advertising, and the public register lists the person who holds it rather than the trading name. Both go in the footer of every page. Customers have another reason to look for it: the Water Corporation's leak allowance form asks for the repairing plumber's PL number.

  • Septic decommissioning for buyers, sellers and builders

Once a property is on sewer, the City of Mandurah's rules make decommissioning the old tank a legal requirement within 60 days of a change of ownership, and before building work starts if new foundations will sit closer than 1.2 metres to it. If you handle that work, or arrange it with a liquid waste contractor, a section written for buyers and builders catches them at the point they need someone.

  • New systems, step by step

For blocks off the sewer, the City's order runs: a design approved by the Department of Health, an application to the City, a permit to install, installation to the permit's conditions, an inspection by Health Services, then a permit to use. Laid out in that order on your site, it takes the place of a long first phone call.

  • Hidden leaks, with the claim in mind

A high water bill sends people searching for leak detection. If you find and repair concealed leaks, say that you supply the invoice and PL number the Water Corporation's allowance claim asks for, and that you can come quickly enough for the customer to meet its 60-day repair window.

  • Gas work under a heading of its own

Mandurah and Pinjarra are both on ATCO's gas distribution network. If you hold a gasfitting permit, give gas hot water, cooktops and heater connections their own section, and show the permit number separately so nobody mistakes it for your plumbing licence.

  • Suburbs listed the way locals name them

Halls Head and the coastal suburbs running south through Falcon and Wannanup to Dawesville and Bouvard; Lakelands, Madora Bay and Meadow Springs in the north; Greenfields, Coodanup and Dudley Park inland of the city centre. Group the ones you cover and add a sentence on where your call-outs stop.

Plumbing in Mandurah: sewer, septic and the Peel suburbs

The state rules, briefly. Mandurah plumbers are licensed through the same Plumbers Licensing Board as everyone else in WA, the PL number belongs in your advertising, and replacing a water heater carries the usual notice of intention and certificate of compliance. Our Perth plumbers page sets out the regulations behind each of those. Mandurah homes are on the Water Corporation's water and sewer networks, so its backflow testing and lodging rules apply here as they do in Perth.

Where the calls come from. The City of Mandurah is made up of 18 suburbs. At the 2021 census Halls Head was the biggest, with 14,474 residents, ahead of Greenfields at 9,869 and Meadow Springs at 9,160, while Dawesville, Dudley Park and Lakelands each had between about 6,200 and 7,100. Inland, the Shire of Murray takes in Pinjarra, Ravenswood and North and South Yunderup; over the northern boundary, the City of Rockingham's suburbs include Singleton, Golden Bay and Secret Harbour. People type those names into a search, so a list of the ones you'll drive to, with job photos captioned by suburb, does more than a line about Mandurah and surrounds.

Septic tanks off the sewer. A property that isn't connected to the Water Corporation's sewer needs a wastewater system approved by the City before it is installed or used. The City describes the conventional option, which suits most properties, as two septic tanks with either two leach drains or four soakwells, and it requires a nutrient retentive system on properties in environmentally sensitive areas. It also tells owners to speak to its Health Services team before buying a system, and greywater reuse is only allowed in approved parts of Mandurah. A plumber who installs systems can save the owner a step by saying which of these they fit and that they'll work to the permit's conditions.

When a tank has to go. Connecting to sewer doesn't automatically oblige an owner to decommission the old tank, although the City recommends doing it as soon as possible. It becomes a legal requirement within 60 days of a change of ownership, within 60 days of a material change of use (a house becoming a business, for example), and before building work begins if foundations will come closer than 1.2 metres to the tank or a building is to go over it. The tank is pumped out by an approved contractor, then removed and the hole backfilled with sand, or broken at the base and filled if removal isn't practical, and the City is notified in writing with the liquid waste contractor's certification. Until that's done, the tank can't be paved or built over without the City's approval, which is exactly the kind of detail a buyer's checklist turns up.

Leaks, gas, and how we work. The Water Corporation can credit up to 50% of the estimated water lost through a hidden leak, provided a licensed plumber repairs internal plumbing within 60 days of detection and the claim, with a digital copy of the repair invoice, goes in within 6 months of the repair; reticulation leaks go to a Waterwise Garden Irrigator instead. The Economic Regulation Authority lists Mandurah and Pinjarra among the places ATCO's gas distribution systems serve. We're an Adelaide team and work with Peel businesses by phone and email; we haven't built for a WA client yet, so the examples below are from Queensland and New South Wales. Mandurah runs on Perth time, 1.5 hours behind Adelaide, or 2.5 hours while South Australia has daylight saving.

A plumbing site and a service-area site we've built

Neither business is in WA. M.J. Debney Plumbing & Gas is our plumbing client in Queensland; Western Sydney Stump Grinding shows how two quote forms and a list of areas covered fit on a single page.

Trades & construction · Queensland

Built for a Queensland plumbing and gas business that also does backflow. The six services share one scrolling page with a swipeable photo gallery and customer testimonials, and the same layout has room for a septic and sewer section if a Mandurah plumber needed one.

A one-page site for a tree business in Western Sydney, with two separate quote forms and a list of the areas it works. Two forms would suit a Mandurah plumber as well: one for urgent leaks and blockages, another for decommissioning and planned jobs.

“They were very helpful and envisioned exactly what I was wanting for my website. They created the site very promptly and cost efficient.”

Questions Mandurah plumbers ask us

Should a Mandurah plumber's website mention septic decommissioning?

If you do it or arrange it, yes. On a property already connected to sewer, the old tank has to be decommissioned within 60 days of a change of ownership, so buyers and settlement agents go looking for someone to take care of it. Say whether you organise the pump-out, the removal or filling and the liquid waste contractor's certification the City asks for, and link to the City's septic page for the rules themselves.

Why would a customer ask for our PL number?

Apart from checking the licence register, a customer claiming a Water Corporation leak allowance has to give the repairing plumber's PL number along with a copy of the invoice. Having it in the footer of every page, and on your invoices, means they don't need to ring you back for it.

We work in Pinjarra and Baldivis as well. How should the site show that?

Name the towns and suburbs you genuinely drive to, grouped into Mandurah, the Murray towns and the Rockingham side, and say where travel starts to cost extra. On the 8-page site each group can have its own page with photos from jobs there. Leave off places you'd rather not go.

Can customers book a plumber through the website?

Most plumbing jobs start with a call or a quote request, so tap-to-call and a short form come first. If you'd like customers to pick a time or pay a call-out fee online, we can build a booking and payment system into the site, quoted separately, or link the booking tool you already use.

How does an Adelaide team build a website for a Mandurah plumber?

By phone and email. You send your services, PL and gasfitting numbers, the suburbs you cover and a few job photos. We build a draft you can open on your phone, you ask for changes until it's right, and you pay only once you approve it. We reply within 24 hours.
