The licensing side is the same as everywhere in Queensland. The QBCC licenses painting work valued at more than $3,300 and treats a website as advertising, so your licensed name, licence number and a statement that you're licensed under the QBCC Act belong on it. Our Brisbane painters page sets those rules out in full. What follows is about Bundaberg.
Bundaberg Regional Council's Amenity and Aesthetics and Removal or Rebuilding Policy, adopted on 28 April 2026, requires building work to remove or rebuild a building to be referred to council for assessment, and its standard conditions for a relocated dwelling read like a painter's job sheet. External works are to be finished within 12 months of the approval unless council agrees otherwise; external wall finishes have to be free of flaking paint, stains or rust and renewed to match the colour and finish of the surrounding walls; roof cladding has to be free of defects including rust and flaking paint; and the owner has to provide a copy of the Form 21 final certificate for the building work. We'd link owners to the policy rather than restate it on your site, and let your page explain what you do to help them meet it.
The weather is kinder to painters here than further up the coast. The Bureau of Meteorology's long-term averages for Bundaberg Aero show about 1,004 mm of rain a year across roughly 62 days with 1 mm or more. Even January and February average only about eight rain days each, and July to September averages about three a month, with around 16 to 18 clear days in July and August. Average 9am humidity stays between 61% and 73% through the year. In practice that means fewer lost weeks than in Mackay or Cairns, so a booking note can promise exterior work for most of the year, with a word about summer storms.
Flood is the other local story. The Bureau of Meteorology's Burnett River flood page records the highest flood peak at Bundaberg in January 2013, during Cyclone Oswald, when about 4,000 homes were damaged, and major flooding again in March 2026, the highest river level there since 2013. That month insurer staff were working from a recovery centre in Bundaberg to help customers affected by the flooding. If you repaint flood-affected homes, for owners or through builders and insurers, say how you check that walls and timber have dried out before coating. The region also has fewer strata buildings than its size might suggest: a Titles Queensland count last updated in February 2022 put 570 community titles schemes in the Bundaberg council area, against 1,092 in Mackay, so most of your work is likely to come from individual owners rather than committees.
Many of the older timber houses carry decades of paint, and Queensland Health says paints with high levels of lead were used in many Australian homes before 1970, with peeling or flaking paint the likely risk. If you have a preparation method for old paint, it belongs on the site, with a link to Queensland Health's guidance. We're an Adelaide team at Hutt St and work with Bundaberg businesses by phone and email: you send photos, licence details and the towns you cover, and we send a draft link you can check between jobs.
