Website Design for Builders in Mackay

Websites for Mackay builders working from the northern beaches and the low ground of East and South Mackay out to the Pioneer Valley, Sarina and the Whitsundays, with each kind of job shown where an owner from that area will find it.

What a Mackay builder's website has to show

A Mackay builder might have a new home going up at Shoal Point, a raise in South Mackay, a renovation at Marian and a house at Airlie Beach on the go at once. Owners from each of those places ask different questions, so the site works better when it sorts your work by place and type rather than in one long gallery.

  • River flooding and storm tide kept apart

Council's floodplain plan found that storm tide, not the Pioneer River, is now the main flood source in East and South Mackay. If you build or raise homes on that low ground, say which risk each project was designed around and give the suburb. An owner near the coast reads that differently from one near the river, and both want to see you've thought about it.

  • Northern beaches homes grouped by suburb

Andergrove – Beaconsfield added more residents than any other part of the Mackay council area in 2024–25, and Shoal Point – Bucasia and Eimeo – Rural View kept growing too. A section for the northern beaches with captions naming Shoal Point, Bucasia, Eimeo or Beaconsfield lets an owner out there find homes near their own street without scrolling past jobs in town.

  • Whitsunday and Isaac work on pages of their own

Airlie Beach, Proserpine and Bowen are in the Whitsunday council area and Moranbah is in Isaac, each with its own council and planning scheme. This year's regional award winners included homes at Airlie Beach and Mandalay and units at Bowen. If you build up the coast or out to the coalfields, a page for each area tells owners there you make the trip.

  • Valley and acreage homes with the site described

Council adopted a flood regulation for Finch Hatton in January 2024, and its Bakers Creek study found flood levels mostly higher around Walkerston than previously mapped. If you build on acreage or in the valley towns, describe each site in a sentence: the fall of the land, how the house sits relative to the creek, and how you dealt with access in the wet.

  • Award categories quoted in full

Master Builders splits its home categories by price, such as "Individual Home from $450,000 up to $600,000" or "Home Renovation Project up to $350,000". Quoting the full category on a winning project tells an owner roughly what that house cost to build, which is often the first thing they're trying to work out. Add the program and year too, such as the 2026 Mackay & Whitsunday Housing & Construction Awards.

  • An enquiry form built around the lot

Suburb or town, new build, raise or renovation, rough budget and whether the lot is near the coast, near a creek or on acreage. Plans, a survey or council flood mapping can be attached as PDFs. You see straight away which enquiries need a site visit, and which you can price from the drawings and a phone call.

Building around Mackay: flood studies, a reviewed planning scheme and neighbouring councils

The QBCC licenses builders across Queensland and counts a website as advertising, so your licensed name, licence number and a licensing statement go on every page, and home warranty cover and deposit limits follow the same state rules everywhere. We've covered those on our Brisbane builders page. Here we look at what's particular to the Mackay region.

The Mackay council area covers about 7,600 km², from the northern beaches to Sarina, Walkerston, Marian, Mirani, Finch Hatton and Eungella, and ABS estimates put it at 129,253 residents in June 2025, up 1,114 over the year. Next door, the Whitsunday council area grew faster, by 1.8% to 41,374, while Isaac barely changed. A builder whose work crosses those boundaries is dealing with three councils, which is reason enough to name the towns you cover rather than writing "Mackay and surrounds".

Council's Mackay Region Planning Scheme 2017 is now at version 5.0, which commenced on 15 June 2026. In August 2026 council adopted its 10-year review of the scheme and decided to amend it rather than replace it. The scheme doesn't apply in the Andergrove and Mackay Waterfront priority development areas, which are regulated under the Economic Development Act 2012, so a house-and-land builder inside the Andergrove PDA is working under a different document from one building in Glenella. Flood mapping is added in stages as each catchment study is adopted, and council writes to affected owners when the mapping on their land changes.

Council's Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan, adopted on 24 November 2021 and calibrated to Cyclone Debbie in March 2017, names riverine flooding from the Pioneer River as the region's greatest flood risk. It counted 600 houses in the Mackay City area with above-floor flooding from the river in a 1% annual exceedance probability event, and 344 houses from a storm tide of the same likelihood, and found storm tide now dominates in East and South Mackay. The Queensland Reconstruction Authority's storm tide guidance applies to northern Queensland homes within 100 to 200 metres of an open shoreline, on top of its cyclone guidance for homes within 50 km of the coast north of Bundaberg. We'd link owners to those documents rather than paraphrase them.

The Mackay & Whitsunday Housing & Construction Awards were held at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre on 15 August 2026, with winning homes at Glenella, Shoal Point, Eimeo, Beaconsfield, Bakers Creek, Richmond and Mackay Harbour as well as Airlie Beach. Master Builders' regional manager singled out the planning, difficult sites and weather behind the entries, which is exactly what a project write-up should describe. We're an Adelaide team at Hutt St and work with Mackay builders by phone and email: you send project photos, licence details and the towns you build in, and we send a draft link you can check from site.

Building and trade websites we've built

We haven't built a site for a Mackay builder yet. Bright Building & Renovations is a licensed builder in South Australia, and SA Painting Professionals covers a whole state from one site; together they show how a Mackay builder could cover the city, the valley and the Whitsundays without losing owners in any one area.

Home page of the Bright Building & Renovations website

Bright Building & Renovations

Trades & construction · Adelaide, Adelaide Hills & Fleurieu

New homes, extensions and renovations across metropolitan Adelaide, the Hills and the Fleurieu, with seven service pages, seven service-area pages and five planning guides. The area pages are the model we'd follow for a Mackay builder: one for the northern beaches, one for the valley towns and one for the Whitsundays, each with its own projects.

Home page of the SA Painting Professionals website

SA Painting Professionals

Trades & construction · Adelaide & all of SA

An Adelaide painting company with 12 service pages, region pages across South Australia and a suburb and postcode search, so a customer in a country town can check they're covered before ringing. The same search would let an owner in Sarina, Proserpine or Moranbah see straight away whether you build there.

“He listened to my feedback and made no hesitations to revise and adjust my website until we were completely happy with it.”

Questions Mackay builders ask us

We build in Mackay and around Airlie Beach. Should the Whitsundays get their own page?

Yes, if it's a meaningful part of your work. A page naming Airlie Beach, Cannonvale, Proserpine or Bowen, with projects from there, tells owners up the coast you're not a city builder who'll make the trip once. Keep it on the same website so all your projects and reviews sit together.

Should our website talk about storm tide and flooding?

Lightly. Say that you check council's flood mapping for each lot and design floor levels to suit, show projects on low ground with the suburb named, and link to council's floodplain plan and the state's storm tide guidance. Leave the technical detail for your conversation with each owner, because the mapping changes as new studies are adopted.

How should we show an award that has a price range in the category name?

In full, on the project it was won for: the award program, the year and the exact category, price band included. Owners use the band to judge whether you build in their range. A short line on the home page can point to the project.

We do a lot of house-and-land in the northern estates. How should that be set out?

A page for each estate you build in, with the homes you've finished there, the designs that suit its lot sizes and a link to the estate's own site. If an estate sits in a priority development area, a line saying you're familiar with its rules helps, without explaining them on your site.

Can an Adelaide team build a Mackay builder's website?

Yes. We're an Adelaide (South Australia) web design team and work with businesses Australia-wide by phone and email; our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. You send photos, your QBCC details and the towns you build in, we build a draft, and you ask for changes until you're happy. Payment comes only after you approve it.
