Website Design for Electricians in Mackay

Websites for Mackay electricians who split the week between houses on the northern beaches and work at the mines, the mills and the Paget workshops. One site can serve both: a homeowner finds the jobs they need, and a mine or industrial client finds your tickets, your capacity and a way to send a work request.

What a Mackay electrician’s website needs

Mackay is widely described as the gateway to the Bowen Basin coalfields, and a good share of the region’s electrical work happens behind a site gate. The rest is houses, cane country and the coast. Within a scroll or two, your site should make it obvious which of those you take on.

  • Two front doors: homes and industry

A family at Shoal Point with a safety switch that keeps tripping and a supervisor at a Paget workshop want different things from you. We give each its own section and its own form: suburb, problem and a photo for the household; site address, access hours, contact on site and purchase order for the business.

  • Mine-site credentials in one list

Recognised Standard 11 covers training in Queensland coal mines, and coal mine workers have compulsory health assessments when they enter the industry and at least every five years after. If your electricians hold current inductions, medicals and tickets for Bowen Basin sites, a plain list of them answers the first questions a contracts coordinator will ask.

  • Crew and capacity, in your words

Industrial clients want to know how many licensed electricians you can put on a shutdown, how far you’ll travel, and how quickly you can mobilise. Two or three honest sentences, written by you and set out by us, cover it better than a page of adjectives.

  • Storm work with Debbie as the reference point

Cyclone Debbie cut power to 65,000 customers in March 2017, mostly around Mackay and the Whitsundays. If you test storm-damaged switchboards before reconnection, check solar systems before they’re switched back on, or fit generator change-over switches, list each job under its own heading so the owner can see you do it.

  • Cane country and the Pioneer Valley

Mackay Sugar’s three mills, Farleigh, Racecourse and Marian, start crushing in June. If you do mill work, wire irrigation pumps on cane farms, or take house calls in Marian, Mirani, Finch Hatton and up to Eungella, name those places; customers out the valley want to know you’ll make the drive.

  • Suburbs set out by direction

The northern beaches from Bucasia and Eimeo to Blacks Beach and Dolphin Heads, the city suburbs, Walkerston to the south-west, and Sarina, Armstrong Beach and Koumala to the south. We group your areas that way, so a customer sees theirs without reading a long run of names.

  • Licence details beside both forms

Your licensed or registered business name, the statement that you’re licensed under the Electrical Safety Act 2002 and your contractor licence number go in the footer of every page and next to each form, where a homeowner deciding to call and a buyer setting you up as a supplier will both look.

Electrical work around Mackay: mines, mills and the coast

Electrical licensing in Mackay follows the same Queensland rules as Brisbane, set out on our Brisbane electrician page: a contractor licence from the Electrical Safety Office to contract for work, and section 188 of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2026 for what your advertising must say. Work on coal mine sites adds another layer, because those sites also come under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 and its recognised standards. We don’t advise on what a particular site needs; that sits with the mine and Resources Safety and Health Queensland.

Mackay Regional Council was formed in 2008 from the City of Mackay and the Mirani and Sarina shires. It covers 7,622 km² and had 121,691 residents at the 2021 census, about 84,000 of them in the urban area. The coast runs from Seaforth, Calen and Midge Point in the north to Hay Point and Koumala in the south, and the Pioneer Valley climbs through Marian, Mirani and Finch Hatton to Eungella. Airlie Beach, Proserpine and Bowen are in the Whitsunday Region, and Moranbah, Dysart and Clermont are in Isaac, so list those towns only if you really go there.

The Bowen Basin covers more than 60,000 km² of Central Queensland, and coal from the western lines is railed to the Hay Point and Dalrymple Bay terminals south of the city. Paget, about 5.6 km south-south-east of the CBD, is mainly given over to industry. Sugar is the other big employer: Mackay Sugar’s Farleigh mill started the 2025 crush on 10 June, with Racecourse and Marian scheduled for 12 and 17 June, and the 2023 season ran for 30 weeks.

Mackay is on Ergon Energy’s network, and the weather shapes the work. The city was nearly destroyed by the 1918 cyclone, the wet season runs from about December to March, and in 2017 Cyclone Debbie damaged 650 power poles and brought down 800 powerlines; energy crews had restored power to all 65,000 affected customers in less than two weeks. For damaged solar and batteries, the Electrical Safety Office’s advice is to have a licensed electrical contractor inspect them before they’re recommissioned, which gives a solar section something concrete to offer.

We’re an Adelaide team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St and work with Mackay businesses by phone and email, which suits anyone working a roster. You send your licence details, the areas and sites you cover and photos from recent jobs; we send a draft link you can open on your days off, and you pay once you approve it.

Sites we’ve built for trades

No electrician has a site from us yet, and we won’t dress another trade up as one. These two show what a Mackay contractor would get: a large multi-page site with service and area pages, and a single-page Queensland trade site with a job gallery.

A licensed South Australian builder with a 30-page site: seven service pages, seven service-area pages, planning guides, a project gallery and a seven-step quote form. That structure suits a contractor with separate household, commercial and industrial work.

“Rebuilt two websites for our businesses and saved us a fortune on hosting etc. Nothing is ever a problem, will email back on a Saturday night if need be.”

Questions Mackay electricians ask us

Can one website speak to homeowners and mine clients?

Yes, as long as each has its own way in. The home page gives two clear choices near the top, households and industry, and each leads to a section or page with the right services and the right form. Your licence details stay in the footer for both.

Should we list our mine-site tickets and inductions?

If they’re current, yes, in plain words: the inductions your crew holds, any high-voltage or hazardous-area tickets, and your safety paperwork. Update the list when tickets lapse or renew; text changes on existing pages are part of the $30 monthly hosting. What a particular mine requires is set by the mine and the regulator, not by us.

Do we need to mention Airlie Beach or Moranbah?

Only if you work there. They’re in the Whitsunday and Isaac council areas, and people there search with their own town names. If you take jobs that far out, say how often and whether travel is charged, so customers know where they stand.

Can business clients send drawings or work orders through the site?

Yes. We can build a request form that takes file uploads, so a client can attach a drawing, a photo of the board or a purchase order. Online booking and payment systems can be built in too, quoted for your job, or we can link a booking tool you already use.
