Website Design for Accountants in Newcastle

Websites for tax agents, BAS agents and accounting practices in Newcastle and the Hunter. A new client can check your registration in one click, find the kind of work they do named on the page, whether that's flying out of Williamtown or running a stud near Scone, and see which of your offices is closest.

What a Hunter accounting practice's website should show

In one week a Hunter practice might prepare returns for a hospital nurse, an electrician on a coal mine roster and an Air Force couple, then sit down with a vineyard owner about their BAS. Each of them should be able to tell from your site that they've come to the right firm, and existing clients should be able to get back to the portal without scrolling.

  • Registration a client can check from the footer

Your registration number, whether you're a tax agent or a BAS agent, and a link that opens your own entry on the TPB Register. Next to it goes the client information the TPB now expects every registered practitioner to give, on a page you can point people to from your engagement letters.

  • A section for each client group you really serve

The ATO publishes separate guides for Defence Force members and for mining site employees, because their allowances and deductions follow their own rules. If those clients, health workers or primary producers make up a real share of your list, a section for each, written in your words, lets a reader recognise their own situation.

  • Every office with its own details

If the practice has a second office in Maitland, Singleton, Cessnock or Raymond Terrace, each one gets its own address, opening hours, phone number, map and parking note. A client from Kurri Kurri shouldn't have to ring the Newcastle number to find out which door to walk through.

  • Business services for suppliers and contractors

Companies that supply the port, Defence projects or the mines have bookkeeping, payroll and structuring questions an individual return doesn't raise. A business services page that names payroll tax registration with Revenue NSW, cash flow forecasting or whatever you actually do helps a business owner see you take that work on.

  • A plain line on clients you never meet

Clients in Muswellbrook, Merriwa or Dungog may never drive to your office, and a Defence family may want to keep the same accountant after a posting takes them interstate. Say how work happens at a distance: phone or video meetings, documents through your portal, e-signing for returns.

  • Portal, software and partner badges

A clearly labelled button in the header for your client portal, the accounting software you work in, such as Xero or MYOB, and any partner badge you hold, using the artwork the software company supplies. Returning clients can get where they need to go in one tap.

Accounting in Newcastle and the Hunter: where clients live and what they do

The national rules, briefly. Tax and BAS agents register with the Tax Practitioners Board wherever they work, so a practice in Hamilton or Charlestown follows the same rules as one in Sydney. Our Sydney accountants page explains the registered tax practitioner symbol and the APES 110 standard on honest marketing, and our Perth page covers the client information every registered practitioner has had to provide since July 2025. For the website, that comes down to your registration details, a link to the TPB Register, and that client information published where people can find it.

Five councils and the valley beyond. The NSW Government's Greater Newcastle plan covers five council areas: Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens and Cessnock. Further up the valley are Singleton, Muswellbrook and the Upper Hunter Shire, whose main town is Scone. People search for an accountant by the town they live in, so name your office suburb, the towns you visit and the council areas most of your clients come from, rather than claiming the whole Hunter.

Defence clients. RAAF Base Williamtown, in Port Stephens about 30 kilometres north of Newcastle, houses most of the Air Force's F-35A fighters as well as its E-7A Wedgetail airborne early warning aircraft. The ATO's guide for Australian Defence Force members notes that some allowances, such as travel and overtime meal allowances, can be left off a member's income statement and only go in the return if a deduction is claimed against them, and that only the work-related part of compulsory mess subscriptions is deductible. A family arriving on a posting may know nobody locally to ask for a recommendation, so a section that says you work with ADF members, and describes in your own words what you help them with, gives them a reason to call.

Mines, studs and vineyards. The ATO publishes a separate income and deductions guide for mining site employees, a group Upper Hunter practices know well. Upper Hunter Shire Council describes Scone as renowned for its thoroughbred horse industry, with most of its rural land used for grazing, dairy farming, horse studs and general farming, while the Lower Hunter's vineyards centre on Pokolbin. If primary producers are a real part of your work, name the regions you travel to and the services they use, such as income averaging, farm management deposits or wine equalisation tax. For employers, NSW payroll tax for 2026-27 is 5.45% of wages above a $1,200,000 threshold, and the threshold is reduced in proportion when part of an employer's wages are paid in another state.

Working with us. We're an Adelaide team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St and work with Hunter practices by phone and email; Adelaide runs half an hour behind Newcastle all year. Our Hunter client is Phoenix Housekeeping, a cleaning business working across Lake Macquarie and Cessnock as well as the Central Coast. It isn't an accounting firm, but its site shows how a business covering several council areas can give each one its own page.

A Hunter client, a professional practice and an accounting review

Phoenix Housekeeping is our client in the Hunter, and Resolve Forward is a Sydney practice whose site handles services, fees and booking the way a firm with fixed-fee work might. We've also built a website for an accounting firm, and that firm's review is below.

Home page of the Phoenix Housekeeping website

Phoenix Housekeeping

Home & care services · Lake Macquarie, Cessnock & Central Coast

A family-run cleaning business covering Lake Macquarie, Cessnock and the Central Coast. Its site publishes prices, gives each part of the service area its own suburb page and offers a discreet call-back option on the quote form. A practice with offices in two or three council areas can use the same structure, one page per office or area.

Home page of the Resolve Forward website

Resolve Forward

Professional services · Sydney

A Sydney family law dispute resolution practice. Six service pages each carry their own FAQs, packaged prices link to online booking, and a five-step intake form gathers the background before the first meeting, which suits accountants who want to know the client type and the work involved before a first appointment.

“Salem was fantastic to work with on our accounting firm’s website. From day one, he was professional, responsive…”

Questions from Newcastle and Hunter accountants

Should our website say we work with Defence members from Williamtown?

If ADF members are a real part of your client list, yes. A short section can say you work with serving members and their families, describe in your words the matters you help with, such as allowances and postings, and explain how clients who are posted interstate keep working with you. We'd link to the ATO's guide for ADF members rather than restate its rules.

We have offices in Newcastle and the Upper Hunter. How should the site handle that?

One website, with a page for each office. Each page carries that office's address, hours, phone number, map and the people who work there, and the home page asks visitors to pick their nearest office. That way someone in Singleton isn't sent to a Hamilton address, and your Google Business Profile listings can each link to the right page.

Can we have a page for farm and stud clients?

Yes. A primary producers page can list the work you do for them, name the areas you visit, from Scone and Merriwa to Pokolbin, and say whether you'll come out to the property. You supply the wording and some photos of the district; we lay it out so it reads well on a phone in the paddock.

Should we publish NSW payroll tax figures on our site?

Naming payroll tax as a service is enough for most practices, with a link to Revenue NSW for the current threshold and rate. If you do want the figures shown, changing them when they move is a text update on an existing page, which the $30 monthly hosting covers.

You're in Adelaide. How does a Newcastle practice work with you?

By phone and email. You send your services, registration details, office information and team photos; we build a draft and send you a link that partners can review between appointments. You ask for whatever changes you want and pay once you approve it. We're half an hour behind Newcastle and reply within 24 hours.

Planning a website for your Hunter practice?

Tell us where your offices are, which client groups you look after and what your registration is. We'll quote first, build the draft, and you pay only once you've approved it.
