Website Design for Accountants in Ballarat

Websites for accounting practices, tax agents and BAS agents in Ballarat and the Central Highlands. GP clinics, hospital staff on rosters, growers out of town and people who've just moved here for work can each see that you look after people like them, and graduates can see why they'd want to work for you.

What a Ballarat accounting site should show

Grampians Health employs more than 7,000 people across Ballarat and western Victoria, government offices have moved staff into the CBD, and the farms start a few minutes past the edge of town. A practice site works best when each of those groups can find its own page within a tap or two of the home page.

  • A page for GP clinics and medical practices

Victoria changed the payroll tax rules for general practices from 1 July 2025, and clinic owners may want an accountant who already understands contractor GPs, service entities and the exempt share of GP wages. If you advise medical businesses, a page describing that work in your own words is far more convincing than a line on a long services list.

  • Appointment times for people on rosters

Nurses, paramedics and other hospital staff working rosters may not be free between nine and five on a weekday. If you offer early, late or Saturday appointments, or phone meetings after a night shift, say so near the top of the home page and let the booking link show which slots are open.

  • A welcome for people who've moved here for work

Someone who has just started at the GovHub or the hospital may be switching accountants for the first time. A short page explaining how that works with your practice, what to bring to a first meeting and roughly what a return costs answers the questions they'd otherwise have to ring around about.

  • Growers and farm businesses

Potato growers around Bungaree, and grain and sheep farms further west towards the Wimmera: if farm clients are a real part of your book, give them a page that names the work you do for them, such as seasonal cash flow, farm management deposits and succession, and says how they can deal with you without driving in.

  • A careers page students will read

Federation University's accounting degree at Mt Helen includes a paid industry placement that the university arranges with industry partners, so a practice that hosts students has something worth saying. A careers page that describes placements, graduate roles and the support you give towards CA or CPA study can help you recruit locally.

  • Registration and a client login, in the header and footer

Your TPB registration number and type in the footer of every page, linked to your entry on the TPB Register, and a Client login button in the header that opens the portal you already use. Returning clients find the login in one tap; new ones can check your registration before they call.

Accounting in Ballarat: medical practices, new arrivals and the farming district

State and national rules, in brief. Ballarat practices register with the Tax Practitioners Board and deal with Victoria's State Revenue Office, exactly as Melbourne practices do; our Melbourne accountants page sets out the TPB's symbol rules and Victoria's recent land tax changes. The City of Ballarat is also on the SRO's list of regional councils for the lower payroll tax rate, which our Bendigo accountants page explains. What follows is particular to Ballarat.

A health city, and the GP payroll tax change. Grampians Health, which has locations in Ballarat as well as Horsham, Stawell, Dimboola and Edenhope, says it employs more than 7,000 staff. Add the city's GP clinics and private practices, and health is a natural client group for a Ballarat accountant, one with a recent change to explain. The SRO says that from 1 July 2025, wages paid by a general practice medical business to its employee and contractor GPs are exempt from payroll tax to the extent they relate to fully funded GP items, which the SRO describes as support for practices that bulk bill. The exemption doesn't extend to allied health or dental businesses. Ex gratia relief applied to some practices for earlier years. The rules for working out the exempt share are on the SRO's medical industry page (opens in a new tab), and that's where a practice website should send readers for them.

New arrivals and the western suburbs. When the Ballarat GovHub opened in the CBD in April 2021, the state government said almost 900 workers would move in, from agencies including VicRoads, Service Victoria, Consumer Affairs Victoria and the State Revenue Office itself. Housing has grown on the western side of the city, where the council plans its Ballarat West and Alfredton West growth areas: Alfredton had 11,822 residents at the 2021 Census, and Lucas, created as a suburb in 2011, already had 2,994. A practice in Sebastopol or Wendouree that names those suburbs, and the ones its clients really come from, reads as local to people who are new to the place.

Farms, students and the local profession. In 2013 The Courier described Bungaree, east of the city, as home to a large number of Ballarat's potato growers and McCain Foods suppliers. Federation University's Bachelor of Business (Accounting) is taught on campus at Mt Helen and online, is recognised by CPA Australia and CA ANZ according to the university, and includes at least 60 days, or 450 hours, of paid industry placement through its co-operative education model. CPA Australia's Ballarat branch committee runs local development and networking events for members in 54 postcodes, from Ballan and Daylesford out to Horsham, so the district a Ballarat practice serves can stretch well into the Wimmera.

Working with us. We're an Adelaide team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St and work with Ballarat practices by phone and email, half an hour behind you all year. None of our clients is in Ballarat, and our Victorian client is in Melbourne. You supply your services, registration details, photos and the links to your portal and booking tool; we build a draft and send you the link, and you pay once you've approved it.

Sites we've built for health and professional practices

We've built a website for an accounting firm, and its review is below. The two sites shown suit a practice with health-sector clients: one belongs to a Melbourne doctor, and the other takes referrals from aged care providers through its enquiry form.

Home page of the Dr Tabara Dione Coaching website

Dr Tabara Dione Coaching

Professional services · Melbourne

Our Victorian client: confidential coaching for doctors, led by a Melbourne specialist anaesthetist. Her credentials have an about page of their own and a discovery call can be booked from every page, a layout that suits a practice whose clients are mostly doctors, nurses and clinic owners.

Home page of the Golden Years Aged Care Support website

Golden Years Aged Care Support

Home & care services · Northern Adelaide

In-home aged care support across Northern Adelaide. Nine services are explained on a single page, the enquiry form has a referral option for aged care providers, and the text is large and easy to read. A practice that receives referrals from medical centres or financial planners could use the same kind of form.

“Salem was fantastic to work with on our accounting firm’s website. From day one, he was professional, responsive…”

Questions from Ballarat accountants

Can our site have a page for GP clinics about payroll tax?

Yes, if you advise medical practices. Describe the work in your own words, for example reviewing contractor arrangements and working out the exempt share of GP wages under the rules that began on 1 July 2025, and link to the SRO's medical industry page for the detail. We'd keep formulas and worked examples off your page, because the SRO's version is the one that gets updated.

Should we say we take Federation University placement students?

If you do, yes. A careers page that mentions placements, graduate roles and help with CA or CPA study gives a student a reason to apply to you. Federation's own course page explains its placement model, so your page only needs to say how a placement runs in your practice and who to contact.

Some clients farm out past Bungaree or in the Wimmera. How can the site help them deal with us remotely?

By saying plainly how it works: phone and video meetings, your document portal for uploads and signing, and any days you visit a district. A Client login button on every page and a booking link for calls cover the rest. The site links to the portal you already use, so farm accounts and tax file numbers never pass through a website form.

Can hospital staff book appointments outside business hours?

If you offer early, late or Saturday times, put them in plain words on the home page and the contact page, and let your booking tool show the open slots. We link Calendly, Microsoft Bookings or your practice software's booking page from every page. If you'd prefer booking built into the site itself, we quote that separately.

You're in Adelaide. How would a Ballarat project work?

By phone and email from start to finish. You send your services, registration details, team photos and the links you want on the site; we send back a draft, you ask for changes until it's right, and you pay once you approve it. We reply within 24 hours.

Ready to talk about your Ballarat practice's website?

Tell us who your clients are, whether you take placement students, and the portal and booking tools you use now. You'll get a quote first, and the draft is built before you pay anything.
