Website Design for Painters in Bunbury

Websites for painters in Bunbury and the South West, whether you repaint houses in East Bunbury and Australind, take commercial jobs in town, or also do protective coatings for industry. House painting and industrial work on separate pages, your registration number on every page, and a quote form that asks about the roof and the age of the house.

What a Bunbury painting website needs

A painter around Bunbury might repaint an older house near the city centre one week and spend the next on an industrial site. WA's painter registration is written around the first kind of job and leaves industrial painting out of its scope, and the people hiring for each look for different proof. A site that keeps the two apart, and is clear about what each involves, serves both.

  • House painting and industrial coatings on separate pages

Building and Energy's scope of work for painters excludes industrial painting, and protective coatings applied after the same contractor has abrasive-blasted the surface. If you do both, put your registered house and commercial painting on one page and industrial work on another, each with its own photos, so a homeowner and a maintenance planner each land on the work that applies to them.

  • The qualifications industrial clients look for

On the industrial page, list the coatings qualifications, site inductions and insurances you hold, in your own words, so a site or maintenance manager can see them before picking up the phone. We arrange what you send us; we don't decide what you should hold.

  • Your registration number, as the register shows it

For the house painting side, your painting contractor number goes in the footer of every page, as the WA advertising rule requires of registered painters, with a link to the government's licence search beside it. We copy the details from that search so the name and number on your site match the register.

  • How you prepare old roofs, fences and eaves

WA prohibits high-pressure water cleaning of asbestos cement, and WorkSafe says sheeting that needs cleaning before painting may only be prepared with non-abrasive methods, such as cleaning solutions washed off with low-pressure water. If you paint older roofs or fibro, a short paragraph on how you prepare them answers the question before an owner has to ask it.

  • Period homes captioned with care

Older houses deserve captions that name the street and say what you kept, matched or picked out. A question on the quote form asking whether the house is heritage listed or in the East Bunbury Heritage Area, with a "not sure" option, tells you before the visit whether the owner may need to speak to the City.

  • Towns as well as suburbs

Greater Bunbury spreads across four councils, so a customer may live in Australind, Eaton or Dalyellup rather than in the City itself, and you may travel to Busselton, Collie or Donnybrook for the right job. List the suburbs you cover first, then the towns you'll drive to, with a line on minimum job size if distance matters.

Painting in Bunbury and the South West

Bunbury sits well inside the area where WA's painter registration applies, which is built on the South West Land Division and so takes in the whole South West region, Busselton, Collie and Margaret River included. The rules on our Perth painters page therefore apply here unchanged: paid painting work worth one thousand dollars or more needs a registered painting contractor, a registered painter's advertising has to carry the registration number, websites included, and residential jobs from $7,500 to $500,000 carry a 6.5 per cent cap on the deposit.

Where Bunbury differs from most of Perth is the industry on its doorstep. The Port of Bunbury handles alumina, spodumene, woodchips, mineral and silica sands, grain and caustic soda among other cargo, and Southern Ports calls it the world's largest lithium export port. About 17 kilometres north-east of the city, in the Shire of Harvey, the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area provides land for processing the region's natural resources. Because the painter registration scope leaves out industrial painting, a painter who works across houses and industrial sites should show plainly which work the registration covers and what they bring to the industrial jobs.

Asbestos is the rule to know before you write about roofs. HealthyWA says a home built before 1990 is likely to contain asbestos in some building products, and that high-pressure water or air can't be used on asbestos products. WorkSafe issued its safety alert on the subject after a registered painter used a high-pressure water cleaner to prepare an asbestos cement roof, contaminating that property and its neighbours; the alert allows only non-abrasive preparation and recommends replacement rather than painting when the material is in poor condition.

Heritage controls in Bunbury come from the City. Its Heritage List has close to 200 places, East Bunbury is its one heritage area, and the City says development at those places needs planning approval in most circumstances. It also investigated making the Tree Streets, the area bounded by streets including Spencer Street, Sampson Road, Picton Crescent and Beach Road, a second heritage area, but in May 2024 the Council decided not to proceed. If you paint older houses in either part of town, captions naming the street and a line saying you check with the City before quoting on listed places do more than a general claim about heritage work.

Greater Bunbury takes in the City of Bunbury, with suburbs such as Carey Park, College Grove, Glen Iris, South Bunbury and Usher, and the neighbouring shires of Harvey, Dardanup and Capel. We're an Adelaide team and work with South West businesses by phone and email. Bunbury keeps Perth time, so we're an hour and a half ahead of you, or two and a half during South Australian daylight saving. We haven't built for a WA client yet, so the examples below are from other states.

Sites we've built for painters and builders

Our clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD, not WA. SA Painting Professionals in Adelaide already gives industrial painting a page of its own, apart from houses. Bright Building & Renovations shows how service-area pages can carry a business across a city and the regions beyond it.

Questions Bunbury painters ask us

Do Bunbury painters need the same registration as Perth painters?

Yes. The Building Services Board's area for painting takes in the whole South West region, so the rules are the same in Bunbury, Busselton or Collie as in Perth: paid painting work of one thousand dollars or more needs a registered painting contractor, and a registered painter's number belongs in their advertising, the website included. Our Perth painters page has the detail.

We do house painting and industrial coatings. Should they share a page?

We'd keep them apart. Building and Energy's scope of work for painters leaves out industrial painting, and the people hiring for each kind of job want different proof. One page shows your registration and house jobs; the other shows industrial projects, your qualifications and site inductions. Each gets its own enquiry form, so you know which kind of job is coming in.

Should our site mention asbestos?

If you paint older roofs, fences or eaves, a short, factual paragraph helps. WA prohibits high-pressure water cleaning of asbestos cement, and WorkSafe allows only non-abrasive preparation. Say how you prepare those surfaces, or that you'll recommend replacement when the sheeting is too far gone, and link to the official guidance rather than explaining the law in full.

Can the site cover period homes in East Bunbury without giving planning advice?

Yes. Show the repaints with captions naming the street and what you matched or picked out, and add a line saying you check with the City before quoting on heritage-listed places. Whether a job needs approval is between the owner and the City, so we keep the site to what you do, not what the rules require.

How does an Adelaide team work with a Bunbury painter?

By phone and email. We're a web design team in Adelaide working with businesses Australia-wide, with current clients in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. You send photos, your registration details and the towns you cover; we build a draft and send you the link; you ask for changes; and you pay once you approve it. We reply within 24 hours.
