Website Design for Painters in Bendigo

Websites for Bendigo painters, from a sole trader who wants one clear page to a crew that repaints shopfronts in the city's heritage streets. Homes and commercial work sit apart, your colour advice is spelt out, and customers can see when you start in January and in July.

What a Bendigo painter's website should include

A Bendigo painting business might do a weatherboard in Golden Square on Monday, a shop in the city on Wednesday and a new house in Strathfieldsaye by Friday. The site should let each of those customers find their kind of job, see your colour help and know how you plan around the weather.

  • Start times that suit the season

In summer you may start at first light and follow the shade around the house; in winter you may wait for the frost to lift. Saying so on the site answers the question homeowners ask most once the job is booked: what time will you turn up, and why did you stop at two?

  • Shopfronts kept apart from houses

A retailer with a Victorian-era frontage in a heritage street needs to see commercial jobs, after-hours or weekend work and how you handle painted signage. A homeowner needs to see houses. Two galleries, or two pages on a larger site, keep them from wading through each other's photos.

  • Colour advice, spelt out

If you brush sample patches onto the wall, bring colour cards or suggest sheen levels, explain how it works, whether it's included in your quote, and how long a customer has to decide. It gives someone stuck on a colour a reason to ring you rather than wait.

  • Decks, fences and verandah timber

If staining, oiling and repainting outdoor timber fills part of your year, give it a line and a few photos of its own. It's a different search from house painting, and a customer looking for a deck refresh won't assume a house painter does it.

  • Suburbs and towns by name

Kangaroo Flat, Eaglehawk, Epsom, Strathfieldsaye, Marong: list the places you cover the way locals say them, and add the towns you'll drive to for bigger jobs. Caption job photos with the suburb so the list and the gallery back each other up.

  • One page that does the work

A sole painter may not need more than one page. Services, a before-and-after strip, your areas, insurance and ABN, a photo-upload quote form and a call button can all sit on a single page that loads quickly on a phone at the paint shop counter.

Painting in Bendigo: heritage guidelines, heat and frost

State rules, briefly. Consumer Affairs Victoria says painting-only jobs don't need registration with the Building and Plumbing Commission; it is jobs worth more than ten thousand dollars that combine skills, such as plastering and painting, that do. Our Melbourne painters page covers those rules, and the planning scheme triggers for painting in a Heritage Overlay, in more detail.

New heritage design guidelines. In 2026 the City of Greater Bendigo exhibited separate Residential and Commercial Heritage Design Guidelines through planning scheme Amendment C300gben, to replace its 2020 guidelines; submissions closed on 18 August 2026. The council's FAQ says they cover finishes and colour schemes along with additions, signage, fences and other works, and that they don't change any zoning or overlay controls. Which guideline applies depends on the building's original purpose and character rather than its current zoning, so a commercial building in a residential zone can still come under the commercial guidelines. Places on the Victorian Heritage Register may also need approval from Heritage Victoria. The council's FAQ also says permit applications can still be made under the current September 2020 guidelines.

What that means for your website. Owners of heritage-listed houses and shops will read those guidelines before choosing colours. A painter's site shouldn't summarise them, because they're changing, but it can show heritage jobs you've done, say you'll work from a scheme the owner has agreed with the council, and link to the council's heritage pages.

Heat and frost. Bureau of Meteorology records for Bendigo Airport from 1991 average 15.8 days a year at 35°C or more, about 13.5 of them between December and February, and 54.7 days at 30°C or more. The same station averages 23.8 days a year at or below 0°C, mostly from June to August, with a July average minimum of 2.7°C. Dulux's Weathershield instructions say the temperature must stay above 5°C through application and drying, and suggest painting the shady side of the house during the hottest part of the day. Those two seasons shape your working day, and a few lines on the site save a lot of phone calls.

The area. The City of Greater Bendigo covers about 3,000 square kilometres. Kangaroo Flat is about 5 km south-west of the centre and Marong about 17 km west, and Amendment C300gben proposes adding seven properties in Bendigo and Golden Square to existing heritage precincts. We're an Adelaide team and work with Bendigo painters by phone and email: you send photos, your areas and your own words about the work, we build the draft, and you pay once you approve it.

Painting and one-page trade sites we've built

We haven't built for a Bendigo painter yet. SA Painting Professionals in Adelaide is our painting client, and its site covers colour advice and outdoor timber work. M.J. Debney Plumbing & Gas in Queensland shows how much a single-page trade site can hold.

Questions Bendigo painters ask us

Should our site say what time we start in summer and winter?

It helps. Bendigo Airport averages about 16 days a year at 35°C or more and about 24 days at or below 0°C, and the paint makers set limits on application and drying temperatures. A short section on early summer starts, later winter starts and how you work around the sun answers questions before the customer asks them.

Do the council's new heritage design guidelines matter for a painter's website?

Indirectly. They cover finishes and colour schemes, so owners of heritage-listed houses and shops will be thinking about them when they ring you. Don't summarise them on your site; the council's own pages will always carry the current version. Show your heritage jobs, say you work from schemes owners have agreed with the City, and link to the City of Greater Bendigo's heritage pages.

Is a one-page website enough for a Bendigo painter?

For a sole painter doing mostly houses, usually yes, and it's our $399 package. Move to the 3-page site at $899 once you want a separate commercial page for shopfronts and offices, or a page for decks and fences with its own photos. A quote form and tap-to-call fit in any of the three packages.

Can we offer colour consultations through the website?

Yes. A short section explains what you offer, such as sample patches, colour cards or a visit to talk through options, and whether it's part of the quote or charged separately. The quote form can include a tick box for customers who want colour help, so you know to bring samples.
