Website Design for Lawyers in Wollongong

Websites for solicitors in Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama that describe your areas of law in your own words, show who in the firm does what, and give people from Helensburgh to Albion Park a short, private way to ask for help.

What an Illawarra law firm's website should cover

The Wollongong & District Law Society keeps executive representatives for family law, conveyancing, wills and estates, and litigation, which hints at the work many local firms do. A good site gives each of those areas a clear home and lets a reader tell quickly whether yours is the right firm.

  • Areas of law in the order clients need them

Your busiest areas come first, each with a short description in your words and a link through to more detail. A buyer in Dapto after a conveyance and a parent in Figtree going through a separation should each reach their section without wading through the other's.

  • Steelworks, port and employment matters

If you handle unfair dismissal, workplace injury or other employment matters for people working at Port Kembla and the businesses around it, give that work a page of its own written for employees, plus a separate section if you also advise employers.

  • Court appearances spelled out

Criminal and traffic clients want to know you'll be at Wollongong court with them. List the courts you appear in, and add practical notes in your words about arriving early and where to meet.

  • Languages your solicitors speak

At the 2021 Census, Macedonian, Arabic, Italian and Mandarin were the most common languages other than English used at home in the City of Wollongong, in that order. If a solicitor or staff member works in one of them, put it on their profile and beside the phone number. We don't translate, but we'll lay out a page you supply in another language.

  • Accreditation and membership, accurately

Accredited specialist status goes on the profile of the solicitor who holds it, for their accredited area only. Membership of the Wollongong & District Law Society, or of the Law Society of NSW, can sit next to each name.

  • A private first step

A brief enquiry form asking the area of law, the suburb, the best time to call and whether a message can be left, plus booking through whatever tool you already use. We can also build a booking and payment system into the site, quoted for your firm.

Legal practice in the Illawarra

The state rules, briefly. Illawarra solicitors are bound by the same Legal Profession Uniform Law and conduct rules as those in Sydney: nothing in your advertising may be false, misleading, deceptive or offensive, and the words “accredited specialist” are reserved for solicitors accredited by the relevant professional association. We cover the detail, including the Register of Solicitors and how accreditation works, on our Sydney lawyers page.

Three council areas, one local profession. The Law Society of NSW's page for the Wollongong & District Law Society says it represents Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama; further south, the Shoalhaven & District Law Society takes in Nowra. The City of Wollongong alone stretches along the coast from Helensburgh to Windang at the mouth of Lake Illawarra, and people search by the suburb they live in, whether that's Thirroul, Corrimal, Unanderra or Warrawong. Name your office suburb and the areas you see clients from, and say whether you'll visit or meet online.

Wollongong court. The Local and District Court stands on the corner of Church and Market Streets in the city centre. If much of your work is criminal, traffic or apprehended violence matters, say you appear there and give the practical detail an anxious client asks about: when to arrive, where to find you and what to bring.

Work and injury. BlueScope puts its direct Illawarra workforce at about 3,000, with roughly 10,000 jobs in the region tied to the Port Kembla Steelworks once contractors and suppliers are counted. That gives firms working in workplace injury and employment disputes a clear local audience. The Law Society of NSW notes that the Workers Compensation Regulation 2016 no longer contains the old ban on advertising work injury legal services, though conduct rule 36 still governs everything the site says. Personal injury law and employment and industrial law are both among the areas the Law Society is accrediting specialists in for 2026.

Working with us. We're an Adelaide team and work with Illawarra firms by phone and email. We don't have an Illawarra client yet, so the examples below come from Sydney and Melbourne.

Professional websites we've built

Resolve Forward is a Sydney practice in family law dispute resolution, and Dr Tabara Dione coaches doctors in Melbourne. Both needed a sensitive first contact to feel simple.

“My website is exactly how I wanted. I highly recommend Salem for any business wanting a professional website without the bull.”

Questions Illawarra law firms ask us

We cover Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama. Do we need a page for each?

Usually not. Naming the three council areas and your office suburb clearly works better than three near-identical pages. If you run a second office, say in Shellharbour, it gets its own page with its address, hours and the solicitors based there.

Can we promote workplace injury work to steelworks and port employees?

The Law Society of NSW notes that the old NSW ban on advertising work injury legal services wasn't carried into the Workers Compensation Regulation 2016. Conduct rule 36 still governs what the page says, so nothing false, misleading or offensive. You approve the wording, and the Law Society is the place to check anything you're unsure about.

Should we list the languages our staff speak?

Yes, if they can work with clients in that language. Put the language on the solicitor's profile and near the phone number. If you send us a page translated by a qualified translator, we'll lay it out; we don't translate ourselves.

Can clients book a first appointment online?

Yes. We can link the booking tool you already use, such as Calendly, from every page, or build a booking and payment system into the site, quoted for your firm. Resolve Forward's clients book priced packages this way.

You're in Adelaide. Can you work with a Wollongong firm?

Yes, by phone and email. We're an Adelaide (South Australia) team working with businesses Australia-wide, and our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. You send your words, photos and solicitor details, we build the draft, and you pay only once you approve it. We reply within 24 hours.

Ready to plan your Illawarra firm's website?

Tell us the areas of law you practise, where you see clients and how you'd like enquiries to arrive. We'll quote and build the draft, and you pay once it's approved.
