Website Design for Lawyers in Newcastle

Websites for solicitors across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens and Cessnock, laid out so a client in Charlestown or Raymond Terrace can see which areas of law you handle, whether you'll meet locally or by phone, and how to reach you without anyone at home knowing.

What a Hunter law firm's website needs

Clients in the Hunter can live a long way from their solicitor: a family in Kurri Kurri, a retiree at Nelson Bay, a mine worker on rotating shifts out past Singleton. The site has to show each of them, fast, whether you take on their kind of matter and how they can contact you around their own day.

  • The towns you really cover

Your office suburb first, then the council areas most clients come from. If a solicitor sees people in Maitland one day a week, or talks with Port Stephens clients by phone, that's written plainly on the page. A firm that claims “the whole Hunter” tells a reader nothing useful.

  • A discreet way to get in touch

A short form that asks when to call back, which number to use and whether a message can be left. For someone leaving a relationship or facing a charge, that small detail can decide whether they send the enquiry at all.

  • Workers compensation and mine injury work

If you act for injured workers, a page in your words on how a claim runs, which insurer is likely to be involved and what you do at each stage. Coal industry claims go to Coal Mines Insurance, which runs the scheme for NSW coal mining, and that deserves one clear sentence if those workers are your clients.

  • Phone and video first meetings

For clients up the valley or out at Gloucester, a first conversation by phone or video saves a long drive. Say whether you offer it, and explain how documents reach you afterwards.

  • Solicitors shown as people

A photo, the year each solicitor was admitted, the areas they work in and membership of the Newcastle Law Society where they hold it. Accredited specialist status appears only on the profile of the solicitor who is accredited.

  • Set fees where you have them

Wills, powers of attorney and residential conveyancing are often quoted at a fixed price. A “from” figure with what it covers lets a buyer in Cardiff or Rutherford compare firms before picking up the phone.

Practising law in the Hunter

NSW rules in brief. Hunter solicitors work under the same Legal Profession Uniform Law and conduct rules as Sydney's: advertising mustn't be false, misleading, deceptive or offensive, and only a solicitor accredited by the relevant professional association may be called an accredited specialist. Our Sydney lawyers page explains those rules, the Law Society's Register of Solicitors and the conditions attached to accreditation, with links to the official guidance.

Two local law societies. The Law Society of NSW lists the Newcastle Law Society for the city and its surrounds, reaching places such as Nelson Bay and Williamtown, and a separate Hunter Valley Law Society for towns including Cessnock, Merriwa, Gloucester and Murrurundi. The NSW Government's Greater Newcastle plan covers five council areas, Cessnock, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Newcastle and Port Stephens, and a client in Toronto or East Maitland reading your site wants to know whether you're within easy reach, which “Newcastle-based” alone doesn't tell them.

Court work. Newcastle Local and District Court sits at 343 Hunter Street. For a criminal, traffic or apprehended violence practice, a page saying you appear there, with notes in your own words on what to bring and where to find you on the day, answers the questions people otherwise ring about the night before.

Injuries at work. Coal Mines Insurance (opens in a new tab) administers workers compensation for the NSW coal mining industry, so a Hunter practice acting for mine workers deals with that insurer alongside the others. The Law Society of NSW notes that the Workers Compensation Regulation 2016 dropped the ban on advertising work injury legal services found in the 2010 regulation. Conduct rule 36 still applies to how that work and any outcome is described, and we set out only the wording you approve.

Working with us. We're an Adelaide team and work with Hunter firms by phone and email. We haven't yet built a site for a Hunter law firm. Our Hunter client is Phoenix Housekeeping in Lake Macquarie, whose quote form already offers the kind of discreet call-back a legal enquiry form needs.

Work that carries over to a law firm

Neither site belongs to a law firm, but each solves a problem Hunter practices share: Resolve Forward deals with sensitive family matters through online booking and intake, and Phoenix Housekeeping lets a client ask for a discreet call-back.

“Salem was fantastic to work with on our accounting firm’s website. From day one, he was professional, responsive…”

Questions Hunter law firms ask us

We act for coal mine workers. Should the site mention Coal Mines Insurance?

If those claims are a real part of your work, one plain line saying you act on claims handled by Coal Mines Insurance, as well as by other insurers, tells a worker you know the system they're in. Describe the process in your own words, and keep anything about outcomes factual so it stays within conduct rule 36.

Our clients are spread from Nelson Bay to Cessnock. One site or several?

One site. A page for each office, or a clear list of the towns you serve and how you meet people there, keeps hosting and updates in one place. Two offices and a few areas of law usually fit the 8-page site at $1,499; one office with a main area of law fits the 3-page site at $899.

Can the enquiry form ask whether it's safe to contact someone?

Yes. It can ask whether a message can be left, the preferred time and number, and carry a note asking the person to hold back details until you call. Phoenix Housekeeping's quote form works the same way with its discreet call-back option.

Should we mention Newcastle Law Society membership?

If your solicitors are members, a line on each profile says so. Law Society of NSW membership can be shown as well; its Register of Solicitors marks which practising solicitors are members. We only add a logo you've been given permission to use, placed exactly as supplied.

You're in Adelaide. How does it work for a Newcastle practice?

By phone and email. We're an Adelaide team working with businesses Australia-wide, and our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD, including Phoenix Housekeeping in Lake Macquarie. You send your words, photos and solicitor details, we send back a draft link, and you pay once you approve it. We reply within 24 hours.

Planning a website for your Hunter practice?

Tell us your areas of law, where your offices are and how clients reach you now. We'll quote and build the draft, and you pay once you're happy with it.
