Website Design for Lawn Mowing and Gardening Businesses

Websites for mowing rounds and garden maintenance businesses that turn a one-off enquiry into a regular booking, show which streets you already cover, and tell a customer what a visit costs before they ring.

What a mowing and gardening website needs to do

A mowing business lives on repeat customers. A one-off cut fills an hour. A lawn you mow every fortnight fills a regular slot on a street you already drive down, month after month. So the site isn't only there to take one-off jobs. It's there to sign people up for a round, and to make it easy for them to stay on it.

  • A sign-up form for regular service

Instead of a blank message box, the form asks how often (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or less over winter), front, back or both, whether clippings go away or get mulched, how you'll get through the side gate, whether there's a dog in the yard and which day suits. You get what you need to slot the job into your round before you call back.

  • Your round, suburb by suburb

Rounds pay because the next lawn is two streets away. List the suburbs where you already mow, and say plainly where you won't go. A bigger site can include a suburb and postcode search like the one we built for SA Painting Professionals, so a customer can type their postcode and see straight away whether you come to them.

  • Per-visit prices and what changes them

A starting price for a standard suburban block, then what pushes it up: a first cut on a lawn that's got away, a steep bank, a large back yard, or green waste to take away. Say what every visit includes, such as edges trimmed, paths blown clean and clippings removed, so customers can compare you fairly with other mowing businesses.

  • Garden care beyond the mower

Hedging, pruning, weeding, mulching and seasonal clean-ups each attract different customers. Group them on the page so someone who only wants a hedge cut twice a year still knows to call you.

  • Weed spraying, with your training shown

If you spray, say so and say you're trained. In NSW, anyone who uses pesticides as part of their work, herbicides included, has to complete accredited training, refresh it every five years, and record each application within 48 hours, keeping the record for three years. The EPA exempts small amounts of ordinary household products applied by hand, and garden maintenance doesn't need its ground applicator licence. Other states set their own rules, so check with yours.

  • A way in for older customers and their providers

Support at Home, the aged care program that replaced Home Care Packages in November 2025, lists gardening among its everyday living services. If you mow for older people or take work from aged care providers, say so, keep your phone number large and near the top, and give a family member or provider a simple way to arrange a visit on someone else's behalf.

  • Landscaping work kept separate, with any licence it needs

Retaining walls, fencing, paving, pergolas and decks count as structural landscaping in NSW, and residential jobs of that kind worth more than $5,000 in labour and materials need a contractor licence. If you hold one, show its number on that part of the site; if you don't, the site shouldn't advertise jobs above that value. Other states license this work in their own way.

Sites we've built that suit a mowing round

We haven't built a site for a lawn mowing or gardening business yet. These two have what a round depends on: Phoenix Housekeeping sells a regular home service with published prices and suburb pages, and Golden Years Aged Care Support's enquiry form lets aged care providers refer a client.

Phoenix Housekeeping

Home & care services · Lake Macquarie, Cessnock & Central Coast

A family-run cleaning business, not a gardener, covering Lake Macquarie, Cessnock and the Central Coast in NSW. The site publishes its pricing, has service pages and suburb pages across its area, and the quote form offers a discreet call-back.

“Nothing is ever a problem, will email back on a Saturday night if need be.”

What a mowing or gardening website costs

Our suggestion for a sole operator

One page

$399

A single mowing round: services, starting prices, the suburbs you cover, the regular-service form and tap-to-call, on one page.

Up to 3 pages

$899

A home page, a services and prices page that splits mowing from garden care, and a page for rental properties, older clients and aged care providers.

Up to 8 pages

$1,499

For crews covering several areas: pages for mowing, hedging and garden care, weed control, rentals and older clients, plus a page for each of the main regions you work in.

  • Payment. No deposit. We build your draft first, you ask for as many changes as you like, and you pay once you approve it. If you don't go ahead, you owe nothing.
  • GST. WebCraft Studio isn't registered for GST, so no GST is added.
  • Timing. Most sites are live within 5–10 days of us getting your words and photos; bigger sites (up to 8 pages) take 2–3 weeks.
  • Hosting. After launch, hosting is $30 a month: hosting, security monitoring, backups, email support and unlimited text and image changes on your existing pages. New pages or features are quoted first. No contract, cancel anytime.
  • Domain and email. We register your domain in your name (about $20 a year), connect it to your site and set up your business email.

Questions gardeners and mowing businesses ask us

Can customers sign up for a regular mow on the website?

Yes. The simplest way is the regular-service form: the customer picks a frequency and a day, you check where they fit in your round and confirm. If you want customers to choose a slot and pay online, we can build booking and payments into the site, quoted per job, or link the booking page of the scheduling app you already run your round on.

Do we need a licence to advertise mowing and gardening?

Mowing, pruning and general garden maintenance aren't on NSW's list of structural landscaping work, which covers things like retaining walls, paving, fencing and decks. Weed spraying is a separate matter: NSW requires training for anyone using pesticides at work, apart from small amounts of household products applied by hand. Rules differ between states, so check with your state's building and environment regulators; we word the site around what you hold.

Should we put our mowing prices online?

We'd suggest a starting price per visit, with a note on what changes it. People with an ordinary suburban lawn can then sign up without waiting for a quote, and the ones with half an acre know to ask. When you put your prices up, send us the new figures: text changes on existing pages are covered by the $30 monthly hosting.

Many of our customers are older. Should the site be different?

A little. Larger text, strong contrast, a phone number that's easy to find and tap, and a short form rather than a long one. We built Golden Years Aged Care Support's site that way, with large readable text and tap-to-call on every page. It also helps to say whether a son, daughter or care provider can book and pay on someone's behalf.

Which package suits a lawn mowing business?

A sole operator with one round usually only needs the one-page site at $399. If you do garden care as well as mowing, or want a page for rentals and aged care referrals, the 3-page site at $899 suits. Businesses running several crews across different areas fit the 8-page site at $1,499. We're based in Adelaide and work with businesses Australia-wide by phone and email.
