Website Design for Coaches & Consultants in Newcastle

For career coaches helping people move on from power stations and mines, business coaches who work with Hunter owners, and consultants selling to industry from Newcastle: a site that says plainly who you help and makes a first conversation easy to arrange.

What a Hunter coach or consultant's website needs

When work comes through a recommendation, the website gets checked afterwards, as a second opinion. It should confirm the details the referrer couldn't: the people or businesses you work with, the industries you understand, and how a first session gets arranged.

  • The industries you've worked in, by name

A business coach who ran a civil contracting firm, or a consultant with twenty years in power generation, should say exactly that. The reader wants to know whether you understand their kind of operation, and one specific line about your own background answers it better than a list of values.

  • Booking times that suit rosters

If your clients work shifts, a booking page that only offers weekday mornings rules them out. Show early, evening and weekend times where you offer them, and say whether a session can happen by phone as well as by video.

  • A separate page for employers

Transition, outplacement and leadership programs are often paid for by the business rather than the person. A page for employers explains group sessions on site, individual sessions booked by staff, what the employer is told and what isn't, and how you quote and invoice.

  • What you do, and what you refer on

Workers facing a closure may be offered career guidance, training and financial advice as separate supports. Say which of these you provide and who you send people to for the rest, such as a licensed financial adviser or their employee assistance program. A short line saying coaching isn't counselling or financial advice sets expectations early.

  • Where you'll meet, and where you won't

Name your base, whether that's an office in Newcastle West, a room in Charlestown or your home in Maitland, and the places you'll travel to. If clients in Singleton, Muswellbrook or Nelson Bay are seen by video, say so; it saves them a call to find out.

  • Proof from people nearby

Testimonials from Hunter business owners, with the business name and suburb if they agree, carry weight with the next owner reading. Chamber membership, a board role or a regular speaking spot at local events belongs on the about page, stated briefly.

Coaching and consulting in Newcastle and the Hunter

The rules are the state's, not the city's. No licence is needed to coach in NSW, but psychologist is a protected title, coaching that includes a health service such as counselling can fall under the NSW code of conduct for non-registered practitioners, and consultants after state government work deal with buy.nsw. Our Sydney coaching page covers each one with links to the official guidance. What follows is about the Hunter.

For career coaches, the local change to know about is on the western shore of Lake Macquarie. In January 2026 Origin told the Australian Energy Market Operator (opens in a new tab) that Eraring Power Station, near Dora Creek, would run until 30 April 2029 rather than close in August 2027, and it was still planning around that date (opens in a new tab) at its October 2026 AGM. In March 2026 Newcastle Weekly reported (opens in a new tab) that the head of the Net Zero Economy Authority had applied to the Fair Work Commission for an Energy Industry Jobs Plan naming Origin Energy, Centennial Coal and 11 other businesses, which together employ more than 1,300 workers at the station, Myuna Colliery and across the supply chain. The supports proposed include guidance towards another career, training and financial advice. If you help people change careers, a page addressed to these workers and the businesses that employ them, in your own words, will answer more of their questions than a general line about transitions.

The state plans Greater Newcastle as five council areas: Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens and Cessnock. Further up the valley are Singleton, Muswellbrook and Scone, where an in-person session can mean a long round trip for one of you, so a coach based in Newcastle may see some clients face to face and others on screen. The site should make clear which is which. For business coaches, the chamber network is part of the landscape: Business Hunter, the regional chamber, was called the Hunter Business Chamber until 2021, and when it took the new name it had around 20 local chambers aligned with it, spread over 10 council areas. If you belong to one or speak at its events, a line on your about page shows a stranger you're active in the local business community.

Consultants selling to state agencies should know one Newcastle wrinkle. buy.nsw defines (opens in a new tab) regional businesses as those outside the metropolitan areas of Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, so a consultancy based in Newcastle doesn't qualify for the regional direct-purchase route, which goes up to $150,000. The SME route, up to $250,000, applies wherever a small or medium business is based. Your site should state your base accurately and, if you're prequalified on the Performance and Management Services Scheme, name it alongside the engagement types you hold.

We're an Adelaide team and work with Hunter coaches and consultants by phone and email. One of our clients, Phoenix Housekeeping, is based in Lake Macquarie, and our coaching client is Dr Tabara Dione in Melbourne; both sites are below.

A coaching site we've built, and one nearby

We haven't built a site for a Hunter coach yet. Our coaching example is from Melbourne, and one of our NSW clients is a cleaning business in Lake Macquarie whose site sets out a service area across the region.

Home page of the Dr Tabara Dione Coaching website

Dr Tabara Dione Coaching

Professional services · Melbourne

Coaching for doctors, led by a Melbourne specialist anaesthetist: a services overview, an about page covering her credentials, a contact form and a discovery-call booking link reachable from every page, plus a footer line saying coaching isn't medical or psychological treatment.

Home page of the Phoenix Housekeeping website

Phoenix Housekeeping

Home & care services · Lake Macquarie, Cessnock & Central Coast

A family-run cleaning business based in Lake Macquarie that also covers Cessnock and the Central Coast. Published pricing, service pages, suburb pages across its area and a quote form with a discreet call-back option: the same way a coach could lay out programs and the towns they reach.

“My website is exactly how I wanted. I highly recommend Salem for any business wanting a professional website without the bull.”

Questions Hunter coaches and consultants ask us

We coach workers affected by the Eraring closure. What should the site cover?

Who you work with, in your own words: the roles and industries you know, whether you've helped people move from shift work into other jobs, and how sessions fit around rosters. Add a page for employers if a business may fund the program, and be clear about what you don't provide, such as financial advice, and where you send people for it.

Can an employer book a group program through the website?

Yes. Individuals book through your scheduling link, while employers use an enquiry form asking for the number of staff, the site and preferred times, so you can quote. If you'd like employers to pay online as well, we can build that in; it's quoted per job, so mention it when you ask for a quote.

Does a Newcastle consultancy count as a regional business for NSW Government work?

Not under buy.nsw's definition, which treats Newcastle as metropolitan alongside Sydney and Wollongong. Agencies can still buy directly from small and medium businesses up to $250,000, so make your ABN, your base and any scheme prequalification easy to find. Check the current policy on buy.nsw before relying on it.

Should we list Upper Hunter towns if we only see clients there by video?

List them as video areas rather than in-person ones. A line such as "in person in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, by video across the Hunter" is clear, and it saves someone in Muswellbrook ringing to ask. If you later start travelling there, changing it is a text update covered by hosting.

You're in Adelaide. How do we work with you from the Hunter?

By phone and email. We're an Adelaide (South Australia) web design team working with businesses Australia-wide; our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD, including Phoenix Housekeeping in Lake Macquarie. Send us your words, photos and booking link, we build a draft for you to review, and you pay once you approve it. We reply within 24 hours.
