Website Design for Tradies in Gladstone, Queensland

Websites for concreters, roofers, fencers, painters, air-conditioning installers, fabricators and other trades in Gladstone, Queensland. Pages that tell a searcher at once which Gladstone you're in, carry enough detail for a town full of tradespeople, and set out the drive from Calliope and Tannum Sands to Agnes Water and Biloela.

What a Gladstone trade website should get right

At the 2021 census, 20.6% of employed Gladstone Region residents were technicians and trades workers, against 13.7% across Queensland and 12.9% nationally. By June 2025 the region had 748 construction businesses, up from 622 four years earlier. Plenty of your customers know the work, and plenty of other trades are after the same jobs.

  • Gladstone QLD 4680, written out in full

There's a Gladstone in South Australia's Mid North (postcode 5473), another in north-east Tasmania (7264) and a small locality of the name in NSW's Kempsey Shire. We put Gladstone QLD 4680 in your page titles, contact section and footer. The same postcode takes in Boyne Island, Tannum Sands, Calliope, Kirkwood and Glen Eden, while Agnes Water is 4677 and Mount Larcom 4695, so those get their own mention if you go there.

  • Specifics for readers who know the trade

When one working resident in five is a tradesperson, the person comparing quotes may be a fitter or boilermaker who can spot a vague answer. Name the materials and brands you use, what a quote includes, how you prepare a surface or set out a footing, and show photos taken partway through a job as well as at the end. You supply those words; we arrange them so they read cleanly on a phone.

  • A page for builders who need subbies

Building approvals in the region for 2024–25 covered 186 private houses and 102 other private dwellings such as townhouses and units, up from two the year before. Tilers, plasterers, painters, cabinetmakers and roof plumbers who take subcontract work can give builders a page of their own: crew size, the scale of job you can handle, lead times, insurances, and a form that accepts plans and schedules.

  • Capability details for council and industry buyers

Gladstone Regional Council encourages suppliers to fill in its Supplier Interest Form and to register on VendorPanel Marketplace, which is free for suppliers, and buys some goods and services through Local Buy arrangements. Rio Tinto, which runs the Yarwun refinery, posts expressions of interest on its Buy Local portal. A capability page listing your ABN, licences, insurances, equipment and crew tickets gives you one link for every form and quote.

  • A service area sorted by the drive

Calliope is about 20 km from the city, Tannum Sands about 25 km, Mount Larcom about 32 km and Agnes Water about 123 km. Biloela, in Banana Shire, is about 120 km out along the Dawson Highway. We group the places you cover by distance and give each group the days you're there and any travel charge, so customers can see it before they ring.

  • Solar and roofing jobs shown side by side

In 2024, 1,352 small-scale solar systems were installed across the Gladstone Region, up from 947 in 2019. Roofers, electricians and solar installers can each show where their work meets: roof repairs before panels go on, lifting and refitting panels for a re-roof, and bird-proofing or cleaning afterwards. A short list of those jobs with photos tells a customer more than a row of brand logos.

  • Household work given the same billing as plant work

Rio Tinto announced in November 2025 that it would cut alumina output at Yarwun by 40 per cent from October 2026, affecting around 180 roles at the refinery, so the plant can keep running until 2035. If your diary has leaned on shutdowns and maintenance contracts, give homeowners and builders a clear path through the same site: a home page that opens with the household jobs you want more of, and the plant work on a page of its own with your tickets and inductions.

What's local about trade work in the Gladstone Region

Licensing is statewide. Builders, plumbers and most other building trades hold QBCC licences, and the QBCC's advertising rules cover websites and social media pages: the name you're licensed under, a statement that you're licensed under the QBCC Act and your licence number, all easy to read. Electrical contractors hold a separate licence with an advertising rule of its own. Our Brisbane tradies page has the detail. For matters particular to one trade here, such as advanced water meters and backflow tags, plant and port work, or the region's flood studies, see our Gladstone pages for plumbers, electricians and builders. This page covers the other trades, and what all of them share.

The numbers behind the advice come from the ABS. Manufacturing employed 13.7% of working residents at the 2021 census, against 5.7% across Queensland, and construction 10.9%, against 9.1%. Technicians and trades workers have made up more than a fifth of employed residents at each of the last three censuses: 22.4% in 2011, 21.4% in 2016 and 20.6% in 2021. The count of construction businesses rose every year from 622 in June 2021 to 748 in June 2025. Building approvals for the year to June 2025 were worth about $275 million, about $96 million of it non-residential.

Two of the bigger buyers publish how to reach them. Council's tenders page points suppliers to its Supplier Interest Form and to VendorPanel Marketplace, and its list of major procurements for 2026–27 ranges from a 1.37 km rising main between Auckland Creek and the Gladstone wastewater treatment plant and culvert renewals on Palm Drive and Lord Street to new roofs for the Agnes Water Community Centre and the Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre, both still at the pre-feasibility stage. Rio Tinto, which runs the Yarwun refinery and Boyne Smelters, lists open expressions of interest for goods and services across its Australian operations on its Buy Local portal, and pays small Australian suppliers, those turning over less than A$10 million, within 14 days of a valid invoice. We don't advise on tenders or pre-qualification; we build the page you link to.

Gladstone sits between the Calliope and Boyne rivers, 108 km south-east of Rockhampton and 517 km by road from Brisbane. The ABS splits the council area into ten SA2 statistical areas, and the eight with residents make a handy service-area map: Clinton – New Auckland (15,311 residents in June 2025), West Gladstone (5,153), Kin Kora – Sun Valley (3,581), Telina – Toolooa (6,828), central Gladstone (6,839, up 2.1% in a year), Boyne Island – Tannum Sands (10,760), Agnes Water – Miriam Vale (8,267) and the Gladstone Hinterland, where 12,274 people are spread over about 6,465 km². The other two, Callemondah and South Trees, have almost no residents. The Dawson Highway starts in Gladstone and runs 405 km west through Calliope, Biloela and Moura to Springsure. Across the harbour, Curtis Island had 36 residents at the 2021 census and no bridge; Curtis Ferry Services runs regular ferries to Curtis and Facing islands, so a trade that takes island jobs should say how it handles the crossing.

We're an Adelaide team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St, and our own state has a Gladstone 211 km north of us, which is why we're particular about the QLD and the 4680. We'd work with you by phone and email: you send your licence details, the jobs you want more of, the towns you'll drive to and photos you're happy to publish, and we send back a draft link to check on your phone. You pay once you've approved it.

Sites we've built for a trade and a technical firm

We haven't built for a Gladstone trade yet. M.J. Debney Plumbing & Gas is our Queensland trade client, and Simple Engineers, structural engineers in Adelaide, write for homeowners and builders who expect technical detail, the same kind of reader many Gladstone trades have.

Trades & construction · Queensland

A licensed Queensland plumber and gas fitter whose single page carries six services, a 13-photo gallery that swipes on a phone, testimonials and a protected contact form. On a Gladstone trade site, a gallery like that is the place for photos that show how a job is done, not only how it ends up.

Questions from Gladstone tradies

Do we need QLD and the postcode on our website?

We'd include them. Towns in South Australia and Tasmania share the name, as does a locality in NSW's Kempsey Shire, and a customer who sees Gladstone QLD 4680 in the page title knows at once you're local. Search engines read the same details, though nobody can promise where a site will rank. We put it in the title, the contact section and the footer.

Council told us to register on VendorPanel. Does our website matter for that?

The registration is separate, and it's free for suppliers. What a website adds is somewhere for a buyer to check your licences, insurances and past jobs once your quote arrives. We build that as a capability page; what goes into a tender response is your call, and we don't advise on it.

A lot of our customers are tradespeople themselves. What do they look for?

Specifics: the products you use, how you prepare, what's in the price and what isn't, and photos of work in progress. Send us your notes in whatever form you have them and we'll arrange them into short sections with headings, so a reader finds the detail they care about in a few seconds.

Should our website mention the Stronger Homes Grant?

Only where the grant applies. It funds resilience work on homes flooded in listed events, and the Queensland Government's list of eligible council areas, last updated on 15 June 2026, includes Rockhampton and Bundaberg but not Gladstone Regional Council or Banana Shire. If you take jobs over those council lines, mention the grant on the page for that area and link to the government's pages; whether a house qualifies is for the owner and the program to settle.

Can customers book a job through the site?

Yes. We can build an online booking and payment system into the site, quoted for your job, or link the booking tool you already use. For trades that mostly quote first, a form asking for the address, the job and a few photos is usually the better place to start.

Can an Adelaide team build a website for a Gladstone trade?

Yes. WebCraft Studio is an Adelaide (South Australia) web design team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St, working with businesses Australia-wide by phone and email, and our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. There's no deposit: we build the draft, you ask for changes, and you pay once you approve it. We reply within 24 hours.
