Queensland runs one set of inspection rules statewide, through Transport and Main Roads: approved inspection stations issue safety certificates, approved persons certify modifications, and defect notices are cleared on the terms printed on them. Our Brisbane mechanics page goes through them. On a Bundaberg site we show your approval number and use TMR's words for each thing you're approved to do.
Bundaberg Regional Council has covered the city together with the former Burnett, Isis and Kolan shires since 2008, an area of about 6,431 km² with 107,297 residents in the ABS estimate for June 2025. The city sits towards the coast, while the Bruce Highway runs inland through Gin Gin, about 50 km west of the CBD, and Childers, about 52 km south-west. That split matters: a workshop in town is mostly booked by locals, and a workshop in one of the highway towns also gets travellers who need help today.
Farming is the other big influence. According to the macadamia industry's own history, Bundaberg was Australia's highest-producing macadamia region in 2016, with 19,900 tonnes of nut in shell, and output had grown almost five-fold since 2000. The flat land and regular farm shapes allow long rows and a high level of mechanisation, and around Gin Gin cane plantations are served by an extensive network of cane tramways. A mechanic who looks after farm vehicles should make that obvious, because a grower searching in a hurry wants to know straight away that you'll come out.
The Burnett River runs through the middle of the city. In January 2013, during ex-Tropical Cyclone Oswald, it reached a record 9.53 metres, more than 7,500 residents left around 2,000 homes, and police set up an exclusion zone in Bundaberg North. Three tornadoes struck Bargara, Burnett Heads and Coonarr in the same event. Council's Burnett River flood page points to its Disaster Dashboard for current flooding and road closures, and a workshop site should link there during a flood rather than try to report conditions itself.
We're an Adelaide team and work with Queensland businesses by phone and email. You send your services, the towns you cover and photos taken on your phone, we send a draft link to check, and you ask for changes until you're happy. You pay once you approve it.
