Website Design for Electricians in Port Macquarie

For Hastings electricians whose week might run from a rough-in at Sovereign Hills to a pressure sewer unit that went quiet with the power, then a hot water system in Wauchope that sat in floodwater. The site carries your licence number, the towns you'll travel to and a call button that's never more than a thumb away.

What a Port Macquarie electrician's website needs

The Port Macquarie urban area had 50,193 people at the 2021 Census, with Wauchope up the river and the Camden Haven towns to the south. The calls a sparky gets here sort into a few groups: households after a storm or a flood, builders and new owners in the western estates, and people who simply want to know whether a fault is yours or the network's. Each group should find its part of the site within a scroll or two.

  • A flood section that matches council's advice

When water gets into a house, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council tells residents to switch off electricity and gas before going back in and to have a licensed electrician inspect any power points, appliances or hot water systems the water reached. Write that section while the rivers are low: what you test, how soon you can come, and a form that takes photos of the switchboard and the water line on the walls.

  • Power to pressure sewer units

Council's pressure sewer page says the pump unit is wired to the household's electricity supply and can't run without it. During a fault the tank holds up to 720 litres, about two days of normal use, and nothing at all if the unit itself has flooded. If you wire supplies for new units or trace why one has lost power, say so in the words an owner types, such as sewer alarm or pump with no power, and point out that council asks to be called if the warning light stays on once power is back.

  • Builders and new owners in the western estates

Sovereign Hills, between Thrumster and the Pacific Highway, has been under development since July 2010 and is expected to reach about 2,500 homes, and Lake Innes, King Creek, Sancrox, Ascot Park and Clifton are growing as well. Builders want to know you'll turn up for rough-in and fit-off; owners who've just got the keys want extra power points, outdoor lighting, solar and a car charger. Give each group its own heading and its own photos.

  • Home EV charging, set out plainly

Council's EV charging page names three places: four 22 kW AC points in a small car park behind its Lord Street headquarters, and faster DC units at the Port Macquarie Service Centre near the highway and at Sovereign Place. If home chargers are work you want, an EV page that says what you check first (switchboard capacity, single or three phase, the cable run to the garage) answers the questions an owner would otherwise ring around to ask.

  • A panel that says whose problem it is

Most streetlights and poles on road reserves, footpaths, parks and foreshore areas are Essential Energy's to maintain, and council's page tells residents to report streetlight faults to Essential Energy, whose outage line is 13 20 80. Glare shields are requested through council on a user-pays basis, with the neighbours' support. A short panel on your contact page, network problems to Essential Energy and anything inside the property to you, keeps calls you can't help with off your phone.

  • Generators and surge protection after outages

In March 2021 around 5,500 customers across the Mid North Coast were without power, and in May 2025 more than 5,000 homes and businesses between Woolgoolga and Forster lost supply during the floods. The NSW Government's outage advice is never to plug a portable generator into a home's wiring. If you fit generator inlets and changeover switches, or surge protection, a section on that work speaks to people who sat through those outages.

Electrical work in the Hastings: Essential Energy, rivers and new streets

The licensing side follows the rest of NSW: a licence for any electrical wiring work whatever it costs, the licensee's name and licence number with the right category on every advertisement including your website, and a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work lodged through the online eCert portal after testing. Our Sydney electricians page sets those rules out. What changes on the Mid North Coast is the network. The NSW Government lists Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy for Sydney, the Hunter, the Central Coast, the Illawarra, the Blue Mountains, the Southern Highlands and the South Coast, and Essential Energy for the rest of the state, the Hastings included. Under the Accredited Service Provider scheme, Level 2 workers are authorised by the local distributor, so here that's Essential Energy, and it's the name to put beside any connection work you list.

People search by town, and the Hastings has a lot of them. The western growth side runs through Lake Innes, Thrumster, Sovereign Hills, Sancrox and King Creek. The coast heads south through Shelly Beach and Lighthouse Beach to Lake Cathie and Bonny Hills. The Camden Haven takes in Laurieton, North Haven, Dunbogan, Kendall and Kew, and up the river are Wauchope, Rawdon Island, Beechwood and Telegraph Point. A service-area list grouped that way, with a note on the towns where you only take bigger jobs, saves a wasted phone call on both ends.

The rivers are why flood work earns a place on the site. In March 2021 evacuation orders went out for low-lying parts of Wauchope, Rawdon Island and Port Macquarie, and for North Haven, Laurieton and Dunbogan, with Port Macquarie and Laurieton named among the worst-affected towns on the coast. In May 2025 low-lying Wauchope was told to evacuate again while the Hastings was under a flood warning. Once the water goes down, council's emergency advice sends people looking for a licensed electrician, and it adds that Essential Energy offers help with reconnection, including fee waivers. Linking to that advice from your flood section is more reliable than paraphrasing it.

Commercial work has its own readers. Port Macquarie Airport is 4 km west of town, Charles Sturt University opened a campus here in 2016, and UNSW has run a clinical school since 2007 and now teaches its full six-year medical degree locally. Facility and site managers at places like these read a website differently from a homeowner: they look for your licences, insurances, tickets and the kinds of sites you've worked on. If that's work you're after, a commercial page or section with a form that asks for the business name and the site is where it belongs.

We're an Adelaide team on Hutt St, so a Hastings site is put together over phone and email. We haven't built for an electrician yet. Our NSW clients include Phoenix Housekeeping, a cleaning business working across Lake Macquarie, Cessnock and the Central Coast, and Western Sydney Stump Grinding. You send your licence details, the towns you cover and photos of real jobs; we send back a draft link to check on your phone, and you pay once you approve it.

Questions Hastings electricians ask us

Should a Port Macquarie electrician's site talk about floods?

If you do flood testing and make-safe work, yes. Council already tells residents to have a licensed electrician check power points, appliances and hot water systems that floodwater reached, so people search for exactly that once the water drops. A section saying what you inspect and how to book, linked to council's emergency advice, is ready before the next one. If it isn't work you take on, we leave it off.

Is it worth mentioning pressure sewer units?

Only if you work on their power supply. An owner whose unit has gone quiet after an outage may not know whether to ring council or an electrician. Two lines saying you check the supply to the unit, and that council's advice is to contact them if its warning light stays on after the power returns, send the right calls your way.

Can one site work for builders and homeowners?

Yes, as long as each has its own door. On a one-page site that's a builders' section covering your rough-in and fit-off process, separate from the household section. On three pages, builders get a page with a form asking for the estate, lot and stage, and owners in the same estates find the extra circuits, lighting and chargers they want after handover.

What should our EV charger page say?

Start with what owners ask: whether their switchboard can take a charger, single or three phase, how long the job takes and where the unit can go. Council's own tip is to buy an 11 kW charging cable only if that's the most AC power the car can take, the kind of plain detail the page should have. Then add photos of chargers you've installed in local garages.
