Websites for Tradies in Port Macquarie

For electricians, plumbers, builders, roofers, painters, landscapers and other trades across Port Macquarie-Hastings: a site that covers both river valleys from Wauchope to Laurieton, explains how you work in plain words for customers who read before they ring, and keeps your licence number and a large call button easy to find.

What a Port Macquarie trade website needs

Port Macquarie-Hastings is a coastal city, two river valleys and a lot of rural land, and its median age sits well above the national figure. That shapes who reads your site and what they need from it.

  • Both valleys, named town by town

The Hastings River side takes in Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Telegraph Point and Rawdon Island; the Camden Haven side has Laurieton, North Haven, Dunbogan, West Haven and Kendall, with Lake Cathie and Bonny Hills in between. Council keeps customer service offices in Port Macquarie, Wauchope and Laurieton, and those three centres are a sensible way to group the towns. List the towns you take jobs in, not "Port and surrounds".

  • Plain explanations for careful readers

Census figures put the median age across the council area at 49, eleven years above the national figure. Many of your customers are likely to be retirees comparing two or three trades before they ring. Say what happens at the first visit, how you quote, when you invoice and who turns up, in readable text with the phone number big enough to tap easily.

  • Flood levels mentioned before the quote

Council's flood certificates set the flood planning levels for a property; habitable floors should sit at the 1% AEP flood level plus allowances for climate change and freeboard, while garages and other non-habitable rooms only need to meet the 5% AEP level. A builder or renovator who says they check the certificate before quoting a low-lying job sounds like someone who has done it before.

  • Flood repairs, written while it's dry

Over 19 and 20 March 2021 Kendall recorded more than 400 mm of rain, and North Haven, Laurieton, Dunbogan and low parts of Port Macquarie and Wauchope were told to evacuate. Electricians, plasterers, flooring trades and builders who do the clean-up can keep a section ready, with a form that takes photos of the damage.

  • A section for people who've just bought a septic system

Buyers of an unsewered property have three months from the property transfer to apply to council for approval to operate the on-site system. Plumbers and wastewater installers working rural blocks around Comboyne, Long Flat, Beechwood or Rollands Plains can write a short section for new owners: what you inspect, what you fix and how quickly you can come out.

  • The growth areas, by name

Council has a structure plan for Thrumster, and its Living and Place Strategy sets out where new housing will go across the area to 2046. New owners search by suburb for fences, driveways, decks, solar and air conditioning, so if that's your work, name the new suburbs and estates you work in.

Working across Port Macquarie-Hastings

The council area covers 3,686 km² and had 86,762 people at the 2021 Census, about 50,000 of them in the Port Macquarie urban area itself, which runs from Settlement Point and Westport out to Lighthouse Beach, Shelly Beach, Lake Innes and Thrumster. Behind the coast are Sancrox, Wauchope, Beechwood and Pappinbarra; north are Telegraph Point and Rollands Plains; south, past Lake Cathie and Bonny Hills, are the Camden Haven towns and Kendall, with Comboyne up on the plateau. The neighbouring council areas are Kempsey, MidCoast and Walcha.

The NSW licensing rules are the same here as anywhere in the state, and our Sydney tradies page sums them up. Locally, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council looks after town water and sets the plumbing and drainage inspection requirements. Its main storages are Port Macquarie Dam and Cowarra Dam, topped up with water pumped from the Hastings River at Koree Island near Wauchope, while Wauchope, Comboyne, Long Flat and Telegraph Point have their own supplies drawn from the Thone, Hastings and Wilson rivers. On unsewered land, installing or altering a septic tank or treatment system needs a Section 68 approval and a geotechnical wastewater report.

Council has identified six floodplain areas: the Hastings River, the Camden Haven, Lake Cathie, Wrights Creek, the Hibbard precinct and the North Brother local catchment. Its flood maps name Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Rawdon Island, Telegraph Point, Kendall, Laurieton, Dunbogan and North Haven among others. A draft update of the Hastings River Flood Study went on exhibition on 26 October 2026, checked against the May 2025 flood, with submissions closing on 7 December 2026. Council says some owners have had letters about extreme-flood mapping and that this doesn't mean rezoning or required works, though flood controls may apply to future building. A trade site shouldn't try to interpret any of that; linking to council's flood certificate page is enough.

The March 2021 floods showed how quickly the area can be cut off. Flooded roads isolated the airport and flights were cancelled, and about 15,000 people were evacuated across the Mid North Coast. For a trade, that means a recovery section prepared in advance and a clear statement of which side of the river you can reach when roads close. On bushfire, council says homes built after 2002 next to bushland hazards have their asset protection zone wholly within their own land, which gives slashing, tree and landscaping trades a clear group of owners to talk to.

We're an Adelaide team, so we'd work with you by phone and email. We haven't built for a Hastings trade yet. You send your licence number, your services, the towns you'll travel to and some photos of finished work; we build a draft you can open on your phone or computer, change whatever you want, and pay once you approve it.

Questions from Port Macquarie tradies

How do we write for older customers without talking down to them?

Be specific and leave nothing to guess. Say who will turn up, roughly how long a typical job takes, whether you charge a call-out fee and how you take payment. Keep the text a comfortable size and the phone number large. That suits every customer, not only retirees.

Should a builder's site mention flood certificates?

A line is enough if you build or renovate on low land: that you check council's flood certificate and planning levels before quoting. Leave the levels themselves to council; the certificate is the authority for each property, and the site can link to council's flood certificate page.

Should Wauchope and the Camden Haven get their own pages?

If you get regular work there, yes. On the 8-page site, a page each for Wauchope and for Laurieton, North Haven and Kendall, with jobs you've done in those towns, tells people you know the area. On a one or three-page site, group the towns under clear headings instead.

Can the site help with septic work for people buying rural blocks?

It can explain what you offer. New owners of an unsewered property have three months to apply to council for approval to operate the system, so a short section on inspections and repairs, with a form that asks for the address and the transfer date, makes it easy for them to book you.

Can an Adelaide team build a site for a Port Macquarie trade?

Yes. We're an Adelaide (South Australia) web design team working with businesses Australia-wide by phone and email, and our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. The draft comes to you as a link, you ask for as many changes as you like, and you pay only once you approve it. We reply within 24 hours.
