Website Design for Carpenters

Websites for carpenters who build decks, pergolas, stairs and fit-outs, with a gallery grouped by job type and a quote form that collects the measurements and photos you'd want before a site visit.

What a carpentry website needs to do

Carpenters usually hear from two kinds of customer: homeowners after a deck, pergola, new stairs or doors, and builders looking for a framing or fix-out subbie. Homeowners want to see work like the job they have in mind. Builders want to know you're licensed, insured and free in the weeks they need you. A well-organised site lets each find their part quickly.

  • A gallery grouped by job

Decks, pergolas, verandahs, stairs, doors and built-ins in separate groups, so someone planning a merbau deck sees decks rather than a wardrobe fit-out. A caption naming the suburb and the timber or composite board used makes each photo more useful.

  • Licence details that match your state

NSW requires a contractor licence for residential carpentry above a set job value, and Queensland's QBCC licenses carpentry above its own threshold. Rules differ again elsewhere, so we show whichever licence or registration you hold at the foot of each page.

  • A quote form built for decks and pergolas

Rough size, height off the ground, timber or composite, roofed or open, and a photo of the spot. Those answers let you give a ballpark on the phone and save the drive for customers whose job and budget fit.

  • A section for builders who hire subbies

If you take subcontract work, a short section covering framing, fix-out, formwork or doors and hardware, how far you'll travel, your insurance and the best way to book you. Site supervisors scanning for a carpenter won't read further than that.

  • Photos that show the structure

A rotten deck pulled up and replaced, a bare backyard turned into a covered outdoor area. Pairs shot from the same spot show the change, and a few progress photos of footings, bearers and joists show the work customers never see once the boards go down.

  • Council approval, answered up front

People planning a pergola or a raised deck often don't know whether it needs approval. If you handle the paperwork or work alongside a certifier or building surveyor, say so on the page; otherwise it's a question many callers will ask before anything else.

Closest examples from our portfolio

No carpentry business is in our portfolio yet, so the nearest examples are an Adelaide renovation builder and a Bega Valley (NSW) excavation and landscaping contractor. Both lean on job photos and an enquiry form, the two things a carpenter's site depends on most.

Home page of the Bright Building & Renovations website

Bright Building & Renovations

Trades & construction · Adelaide, Adelaide Hills & Fleurieu

Licensed Adelaide builder doing renovations, extensions and new homes. Its 30-page site splits the work into seven service pages, each with its own link through to the seven-step quote form. A carpenter could split decks, pergolas and fit-outs the same way.

Home page of the Tomi's Bobcat and Excavation website

Tomi's Bobcat and Excavation

Trades & construction · South Pambula & Bega Valley

Bega Valley earthmoving business covering structural landscaping, pool building and general earthworks. Its one-page site is built around 42 job photos that swipe on a phone, plus a testimonial carousel; the same format would carry a carpenter's decks and pergolas well.

“I highly recommend Salem for any business wanting a professional website without the bull.”

Questions carpenters ask us

Does a carpenter's licence number need to be on the website?

If you hold a licence or registration, show it. In NSW and Queensland, licensed contractors have to include their licence number in advertising, and Queensland's QBCC says outright that websites count. If your jobs sit under your state's licensing threshold, we won't suggest a licence you don't hold. In Queensland, an unlicensed contractor's advertising must instead state the value limit of the work they can take on, so we'd add that line.

What photos should a carpenter send us?

Finished decks and pergolas photographed in daylight from two or three angles, close-ups of joins, balustrades or stair details, and a before photo wherever you have one. Phone photos are fine. Leave out shots showing clients' faces, house numbers or number plates.

Can customers send measurements and photos with a quote request?

Yes. The form can ask for rough dimensions, the material they have in mind and whether the area will be roofed, with an optional photo upload. You choose the questions, and they can be changed after launch.

Which package suits a carpenter?

Most carpenters working on their own only need the one-page site at $399. The 3-page site at $899 makes sense once decks and pergolas deserve pages of their own, or you want one aimed at builders. A crew doing several kinds of carpentry will get more from the 8-page site at $1,499.

Do you work with carpenters outside Adelaide?

Yes. Our team works by phone and email with businesses across Australia from Hutt St in Adelaide, South Australia. The clients we have now are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD.
