Website Design for Bathroom Renovators in Sydney

Websites for Sydney bathroom renovation businesses, whether most of your jobs are unit bathrooms that need an owners corporation vote or ensuites in family homes out west. Owners see the licence you hold, finished rooms in buildings like theirs and how the weeks without a bathroom will run.

What a Sydney bathroom renovator's site has to answer

Sydney bathrooms come in two broad kinds. One is the unit bathroom in a strata building, where the owner needs approval before you can lift a tile. The other is the bathroom or ensuite in a freestanding house, where the questions are layout, budget and how long the family will share one shower. Your site should speak to whichever you do more of, and say so near the top.

  • The licence class you actually hold

NSW issues a contractor licence specifically for kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovation work, separate from general building. We show which one you hold and its number on every page, and list the licensed waterproofer, tiler, plumber and electrician on your jobs, so an owner can check each name on the NSW Government's licence lookup.

  • A page unit owners can take to their strata meeting

Under NSW strata rules, a bathroom renovation is a major renovation, so the owner needs a special resolution at a general meeting before work starts. A page listing what you provide for that application (scope of work, licence and insurance details, your waterproofing method, the hours you'll be on site) makes you the easy renovator to put forward.

  • A quote form that asks if the layout is changing

Keeping the toilet, shower and basin where they are is simpler, and in Sydney it means the plumber doesn't lodge a Notice of Work. Moving them changes both the price and the paperwork. The form asks about layout, building type (house, townhouse or unit, and which floor), lift and parking access, and takes photos of the existing room.

  • Waterproofing, and the warranty behind it

The NSW Government gives waterproofing as an example of a major element of a home, which puts a major defect in it under the six-year statutory warranty instead of the two-year one. Name who does your waterproofing, the standard it follows and the paperwork the owner gets at handover; it's the one part of the job nobody sees once the tiles are down.

  • What's behind the tiles in older homes

SafeWork NSW warns that buildings from before the late 1980s may contain asbestos, and its examples include wall sheeting behind tiles and vinyl floor tiles. If you strip out older bathrooms, a short note on how you check for it and when a licensed removalist comes in settles a question that otherwise surfaces on demolition day.

  • A section for landlords and property managers

More than a third of Greater Sydney's homes were rented at the 2021 Census, and NSW landlords who want to charge tenants for water usage need dual-flush toilets and low-flow showerheads and taps. If you do quick refits between tenancies, that work deserves its own heading, written for investors and agents rather than owner-occupiers.

  • Galleries captioned by building, not only by style

“Second-floor unit, Randwick” or “Ensuite in a two-storey house, Castle Hill” tells a visitor straight away whether you've worked in a building like theirs. Before-and-after pairs taken from the same spot, with a line on what changed and how many weeks it took, do more than a page of close-ups of tapware.

Renovating bathrooms in Sydney: licences, strata and paperwork

Licences. Building Commission NSW handles building and trade licences in NSW. Alongside general building, NSW has a contractor licence category for kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovation: it covers installing, refurbishing, restoring and repairing those rooms, but not work on any load-bearing part of the building such as floors, walls, columns or beams, and specialist work within the job has to be subcontracted to someone who holds that specialist licence. Plumbing and electrical work need a licence whatever the job is worth, while waterproofing and wall and floor tiling are trade licences required for residential work over $5,000. Written contracts, the 10 percent deposit cap, Home Building Compensation cover and the rules on what a trade ad must show apply to renovators as they do to builders; our page for Sydney builders sets those out.

Strata. At the 2021 Census, about 31 percent of Greater Sydney's occupied homes were flats or apartments, and the spread across the city is uneven: more than three-quarters in the City of Sydney and North Sydney council areas, under 10 percent in Blacktown, Camden and The Hills. NSW strata guidance lists bathroom renovations, and any work that needs waterproofing, as major renovations. Only the owners corporation can approve them, by special resolution at an annual or other general meeting. The motion passes unless more than a quarter of the value of votes cast is against it, and it must say whether the owners corporation or the lot owner will look after the common property involved from then on. If the work changes the structure, the owner gives 14 days' written notice before it begins. The NSW guidance sets no approval period for major renovations, so the timing depends on when the owners corporation next holds a general meeting. A renovator who explains that sequence and plans start dates around it reads as someone who has done strata jobs before.

Plumbing paperwork and warranties. Plumbing inspections in Sydney run through Building Commission NSW. Its guidance exempts bathroom renovations where the fixtures stay in the same place from the Notice of Work; once fixtures move, that exemption no longer applies and the plumber lodges one through MyInspections before starting. All plumbing work finishes with a Certificate of Compliance, and a copy goes to whoever arranged the job, whether the owner or the renovator. Our Sydney plumbers page covers that system in more detail. After handover, NSW statutory warranties on contracts signed since 1 February 2012 run six years for major defects and two years for everything else.

Older homes and rentals. SafeWork NSW says bonded asbestos cement sheeting was common in building materials from the 1940s to the late 1980s, and its photo examples include a Tilux bathroom wall, sheeting behind tiles and vinyl floor tiles with their adhesive. Removing more than 10 square metres of non-friable asbestos needs a non-friable removal licence, and any amount of friable asbestos needs a friable licence. Rentals are the other large Sydney market: about 657,000 of Greater Sydney's 1.83 million occupied homes were rented at the 2021 Census, including roughly six in ten of its apartments. NSW landlords who pass water usage charges on to tenants need showerheads and indoor kitchen and basin taps with a maximum flow of 9 litres a minute and, since 23 March 2025, dual-flush toilets with at least a three-star WELS rating.

People search by suburb and region: the Eastern Suburbs, the Inner West, the North Shore, the Northern Beaches, the Hills, the Shire, Western Sydney and Macarthur. List the ones you'll quote in, and if unit work keeps you close to the city while house jobs take you west, the site can show that split. WebCraft Studio is an Adelaide team at Ste 3/110 Hutt St, so Sydney renovators work with us by phone and email: you send photos, licence details and your suburb list, we send a draft link, and you pay once you've approved it.

Questions Sydney bathroom renovators ask us

Can an Adelaide team build a website for a Sydney bathroom renovator?

Yes. We're a web design team in Adelaide, South Australia, working with businesses Australia-wide by phone and email. Our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD, and in Sydney they include Western Sydney Stump Grinding and Resolve Forward. You email your photos and details, we send a draft link you can check between jobs, and nothing is paid until you approve it. We reply within 24 hours.

Should our site explain strata approval for unit bathrooms?

If you renovate in apartment buildings, we'd say yes. NSW strata guidance treats a bathroom renovation as a major renovation needing a special resolution of the owners corporation, so the work can't start until a general meeting has voted for it. A short section on that, with the documents you supply for the application, helps the owner get the motion ready. We describe your process and link to the NSW guidance; we don't advise on strata law.

Which licence details should a NSW bathroom renovator show?

The licence you hold (kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovation, general building, or a trade licence such as waterproofing or tiling), its number and the name it's issued to. You can also name the licensed plumber and electrician you subcontract, since NSW requires specialist work in a renovation to go to those licence holders. Check the NSW Government's guidance on building trade ads against your own licence; we lay out the details you give us.

Can the quote form ask whether the layout is changing?

Yes, and we'd put it near the top. A Sydney bathroom renovation that keeps the fixtures where they are doesn't need a plumber's Notice of Work, and moving them affects your price. The form can also ask about building type, floor level, lift access, parking and a rough budget, and accept photos of the current bathroom, so you arrive at the measure-up knowing what you're walking into.

Should we mention asbestos on our website?

If you work on older homes, a sentence or two helps. SafeWork NSW says buildings from before the late 1980s may contain asbestos and its photo examples include wall sheeting behind tiles and a Tilux bathroom wall. Say in your own words how you check for it and who removes it, and link to SafeWork NSW for the rules. We present what you tell us; we don't give safety advice.

Is a separate page for landlords and property managers worthwhile?

If rental work comes in regularly, yes. On the 8-page site it can cover quick refits between tenancies, how you arrange access with agents, and the fittings a NSW landlord needs before passing water usage charges on to tenants: dual-flush toilets with at least a three-star WELS rating, and showerheads and kitchen and basin taps flowing at 9 litres a minute or less. On a smaller site it becomes a short section on the home page.
