Website Design for Roofers

Roofing websites that put your storm repair number, your roof inspection offer and your written warranty where a homeowner finds them in seconds on a phone.

What homeowners look for on a roofer's site

Nobody can see their own roof properly, so most people land on a roofing site slightly in the dark: a brown stain spreading across the ceiling, a cracked tile on the lawn, or an insurer asking for a repair quote. The site has to make the next step obvious and show that you can be trusted on top of their house.

  • Storm and leak repairs, said plainly

Whether you do emergency make-safe work such as tarping, which suburbs you attend after a storm, and how soon you can usually get there. A call button sits in the header of every page, and the quote form asks for single or double storey, roof material (tile, metal, asbestos-cement or not sure) and photos of the damage.

  • A roof inspection offer with a defined scope

Spell out what an inspection covers: tiles or sheeting, ridge capping, flashings, valleys, gutters and the roof space if you go inside. Say whether photos and a written report come with it, what it costs or whether it's included with a quote, and how long you'll be on site. A specific offer is easier to say yes to than "contact us about an inspection".

  • Warranty terms you can point to

A badly sealed flashing might not leak until next winter, so customers want to know what you stand behind. Give your workmanship warranty in years, what it covers and what would void it, and keep it separate from the manufacturer's warranty on the steel, tiles or coatings you install.

  • Your licence under your state's name for it

Roof work is licensed differently around the country. Queensland's QBCC has separate roof tiling and roof and wall cladding classes, in NSW roof plumbing is a licensed trade regulated by Building Commission NSW, and in Victoria roofing (stormwater) is a plumbing class under the Building and Plumbing Commission. Whatever yours is called, the number goes in the footer alongside your public liability details.

  • Photos taken from above

A shot from the footpath shows a homeowner almost nothing. Drone or ladder-height photos of new ridge capping, re-pointed tiles, replaced valleys or a fresh metal roof beside the before shot show far more. Caption each with the suburb and the job, so the gallery also shows where you work.

  • A page for each kind of roofing job

Leak repairs, roof restoration, metal reroofing, gutters and downpipes, skylights and asbestos roof replacement are searched for separately, and each comes with its own worries about cost and disruption. On a 3-page or 8-page site the jobs you most want can each have a page, photos and a quote button.

Trade sites closest to roofing

Our portfolio doesn't include a roofing company yet. The closest examples are a painting company whose services include roof painting, and a tree service that handles 24/7 emergency work alongside planned jobs, much like a roofer's mix of leak call-outs and reroofs. The review below is from a tiling business we worked with.

  • Payment. No deposit. We build your draft first, you ask for as many changes as you like, and you pay once you approve it. If you don't go ahead, you owe nothing.
  • GST. WebCraft Studio isn't registered for GST, so no GST is added.
  • Timing. Most sites are live within 5–10 days of us getting your words and photos; bigger sites (up to 8 pages) take 2–3 weeks.

Questions roofers ask us

Can we change the site when storm season hits?

Yes. Text and image changes on existing pages are included in the $30 monthly hosting, so you can email us to put a storm notice at the top of the home page, update your response times while you're flat out, or take the notice down once things settle. A brand-new page is quoted before we build it.

Should a roofing website list prices?

Most roofs need measuring before a firm price, but you can still help people. A set price for an inspection or a minor leak repair, the things that move a restoration or reroof price (size, pitch, number of storeys, access, what the old roof is made of) and when you provide a written quote all answer questions before the phone rings. It's your call, and the site only says what you approve.

Should we mention asbestos roofs?

If you hold an asbestos removal licence, yes, along with the licence class. Asbestos-cement roof sheeting is usually non-friable, and removing more than 10 square metres of non-friable asbestos needs a Class A or Class B licence, so owners of older homes look for it. If you don't do that work, one line saying you refer it to a licensed removalist saves everyone a wasted call.

Which package suits a roofing business?

A small crew doing repairs and restorations across a handful of suburbs is well served by the one-page site at $399. Once reroofing or storm repairs need their own explanation and photos, the three-page site at $899 gives each a page. Roofing companies with gutter, skylight or asbestos work usually need the room in the $1,499 site.

Do you work with roofers outside South Australia?

Yes. We're a web design team in Adelaide and work with businesses around Australia by phone and email; our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. Quoting, sending your photos and approving the draft all happen remotely, so you never need to visit us.
