Website Design for Mechanics in Bendigo

Sites for Greater Bendigo workshops and mobile mechanics, from Kangaroo Flat and Strathfieldsaye out to Heathcote, Marong and Elmore. The repairs you do after a kangaroo strike, air-con work before the hot months, roadworthies for club permit cars, and a request form that reaches you before the tow truck does.

What a Bendigo workshop's website should cover

Bendigo customers drive long distances on country roads, through hot summers, and some of them are keeping an older car on the road. A good workshop site says which of those jobs you take, where you'll go and how to get the car to you.

  • Kangaroo-strike repairs, Heathcote to Castlemaine

RACV's list of kangaroo-collision claims from January 2021 to June 2026 has three places around Bendigo in Victoria's top ten: Heathcote third, Bendigo seventh and Castlemaine tenth. If you replace radiators, condensers, headlights and sensors after a strike, or fit bull bars and driving lights, list each job and say whether you work with insurers.

  • Air-con before the hot months

Bendigo Airport averages a January maximum of 30.4 °C. If you regas and repair car air-conditioning, say so on its own line and show your Australian Refrigeration Council licence next to it, since working on refrigerant in a car's air-con needs one. Spring is a sensible time to remind customers, before the first hot week fills your diary.

  • Classic cars and club permits

VicRoads' club permit application covers veteran and vintage vehicles and classic and historic vehicles more than 25 years old, with a choice of 45 or 90 driving days, and its checklist asks for a current roadworthy certificate for vehicles built from 1949 on. If you service older cars or test them for club permits, give them a page with photos of the work, and name the makes and eras you know well.

  • Repairable write-offs and the VIV step

A repairable write-off needs a Vehicle Identity Validation inspection, then a roadworthy, before it can go back on the register. When VACC counted Victoria's approved VIV inspection businesses in October 2025 there were 10, and one of them was in Kangaroo Flat. If you repair write-offs, set out those steps on your site and say what paperwork the owner should bring.

  • Towns across a big council area

Greater Bendigo stretches from Elmore and Goornong in the north to Heathcote in the south-east. Say where the workshop is and how far you'll go, and if you're mobile, which days you head out to Marong, Axedale or Heathcote. A farmer near Raywood can then see straight away that you'll make the trip.

  • Utes, light trucks and the 4.5-tonne line

Victoria's roadworthiness standards in VSI 26 apply to vehicles with a gross vehicle mass of 4.5 tonnes or less and point to the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator for anything heavier. If you look after farm utes, tray-backs and light trucks, say which weights you take on, so a business with a mixed fleet knows what it can bring in.

Running a workshop in Greater Bendigo

State rules in short. Victoria doesn't license repair businesses as such. Issuing roadworthy certificates takes a Licensed Vehicle Tester licence, and selling cars on the side takes a motor car trader's licence, whose number has to follow the letters LMCT in every ad. Those rules are explained in full on our Melbourne mechanics page, together with the limits of a roadworthy inspection, VACC membership and rideshare checks. Here we cover what's different about Bendigo.

One city, a lot of country. The City of Greater Bendigo covers about 3,000 square kilometres and had 121,470 residents at the 2021 census. Kangaroo Flat, with 11,328 people, is its largest suburb, followed by Golden Square, Strathfieldsaye and Kennington, while outlying towns include Heathcote, Marong, Axedale, Lockwood, Elmore and Goornong. Castlemaine, the seat of neighbouring Mount Alexander Shire, is close enough that some of your customers may come from there. That spread is why a Bendigo workshop's site should list towns as well as suburbs.

Kangaroos, write-offs and the VIV inspection. RACV's August 2026 figures, covering claims by its members from January 2021 to June 2026, put Heathcote third in Victoria for kangaroo collisions with 230 claims, Bendigo seventh with 181 and Castlemaine tenth with 155. RACV says kangaroos are most active at dawn, dusk and at night, and that one in six kangaroo collisions now ends in a total write-off, up from one in nine in 2021. According to VACC's 2026 policy blueprint, Victoria had just 10 approved VIV inspection providers in October 2025, and apart from seven in metropolitan Melbourne they were in Geelong, Kangaroo Flat and Tyabb. A repairer in Greater Bendigo has that step on its doorstep, which is worth saying.

Heat and old cars. Bureau of Meteorology records for Bendigo Airport, kept since 1991, give mean maximums of 30.4 °C in January and 29.7 °C in February, against a July mean minimum of 2.7 °C, so cooling systems and air-con matter in summer and starting troubles in winter. The city also hosts the Bendigo National Swap Meet, first held in 1975, which fills the Bendigo Showgrounds with more than 1,700 sites of parts, memorabilia and historic vehicles each November; the 2026 meet is on 14 and 15 November. Older vehicles have a following in the region, so if you work on them, give them a page of their own.

How we work with Bendigo workshops. We're an Adelaide team and work with Bendigo businesses by phone and email, so there's no need for a visit. Send us your services, towns, licence details and a handful of phone photos, look over the draft on your phone when you've got a minute, ask for whatever changes you like, and pay once you're happy with it.

Gallery and service-area examples from our portfolio

No Bendigo mechanic is in our portfolio so far. What these two clients do well is what a regional workshop site needs: a big swipeable gallery of finished work, and a clear way to show people across a wide area that you cover their town.

SA Painting Professionals

Trades & construction · Adelaide & all of SA

An Adelaide painting company working across South Australia. Its site has 12 service pages, region pages and a suburb and postcode search. For a workshop serving Greater Bendigo and the towns around it, the same idea lets someone in Elmore or Heathcote check that you cover them.

“From day one he was very professional and patient when making my website. I have so many clients coming through from it, truly amazing.”

Questions Bendigo mechanics ask us

Should our site mention kangaroo-strike repairs?

If strike repairs are part of your work, yes. Heathcote, Bendigo and Castlemaine each appear in RACV's latest top ten for kangaroo claims, so it's work plenty of local drivers may need. Name the parts you replace, say if insurers send you work, and mention bull bar fitting if you do it.

Is a classic car page worth it if it's only part of our work?

If older cars are a steady share of your bookings, yes. Club permit applications for cars built from 1949 on need a current roadworthy, and restorers want to see that you've worked on cars like theirs. A page with photos of real jobs, the makes and eras you know, and whether you test for club permits does that.

We're in Kangaroo Flat but get customers from Castlemaine and Heathcote. How should we list that?

Lead with your own suburb and street, then list the towns your customers come from and roughly how far you are from each. If you're mobile, say which days you go where. We set it out as plain text rather than a map image so it reads well on a phone.

Can customers book a service or roadworthy online?

They can send a request with the rego, the vehicle, what's wrong and the day that suits, and you ring or text back to lock it in. A Book button can instead open the online booking in your workshop software, if it has one, or we can build a calendar with online payment into the site and quote it alongside everything else.

Do you build websites for Bendigo mechanics from Adelaide?

Yes. Everything runs by phone and email from our Adelaide base, and our current clients are in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. Send us your services, towns and some photos; a draft link comes back for you to check; payment happens only after you've approved it. We reply within 24 hours.

Ready to start your Bendigo workshop website?

Tell us the towns you cover, whether you're a Licensed Vehicle Tester and which jobs you'd like more of: strike repairs, air-con, classic cars or fleet work. We'll send a quote and build the draft, and nothing is owed until you approve it.
